The world ends. What will you see in the sky at that moment?

Marine Academy City Noah has gathered people from around the world who can use Wings, powers that manifest themselves as seals on their chest. On the island, there is a Colosseum. It is rumored that the person who wins 13 battles in a row will become an Ark. Until an Ark appears, these students live a peaceful life. One of them is Tsukasa Hayasaka, a second year student with no particular ambitions.

A mysterious new student, Zenobia A. A. Axelrod, has joined the school, and Tsukasa's best friend Kikunari Souma is talking about the end of the world. Ophelia U. Diefenbaker is the student council president. Honoka Yamamura, Naki's friend, helps her out. Tsukasa also has to deal with his feisty cousin Naki, the eccentric Kaguya Patelliere, and the only seemingly normal person at the school, Saya Sayado.

Until one day the news is broken that the world is already ending. What will Tsukasa and his classmates do?

Tropes used in Soranica Ele include:
  • Academy of Adventure: From the beginning to the end, everything takes place on school property. Which apparently has a mine on campus, along with a bunch of other things Tsukasa was unaware of.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Tsukasa's Wings are everyone's Wings.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Zenobia. She is a Dark Skinned White-Haired Pretty Girl, but her origins are unknown.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Maki is the avatar of the sky itself, watching over the repeated events.
  • Awesomeness By Analysis: Kikunari's power. So much that he's bored with life, being able to predict everything.
  • Babies Ever After: Honoka and Naki's ends. Naki's, notably, has her giving birth to twin boys.
  • Battle Couple: Tsukasa and Ophelia, even moreso once he awakens. Not even killing him can stop him. His soul joins with Ophelia's, making her even stronger, though Tsukasa in no way planned for this.
  • Beach Episode: The summer training camp. The main cast (everyone, save for two other named characters) are in the same group.
  • Beauty Contest: Happens during summer camp.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: Tsukasa and Honoka get one on top of the clock tower.
  • Book Ends: The story begins and ends with Tsukasa flying in the sky towards Maki.
  • Bromantic Foil: Kikunari. There is a Gay Option with him, but this only leads to a bad end.
  • But Thou Must!: When Saya asks if she's a masochist, the entire screen is swamped with options that are all variations on "Yes, you are." On Ophelia's route, at the summer camp, you have no choice but to perform a comic monologue - nothing else is available.
  • Buxom Is Better: Honoka, her boobs are usually mentioned when she is.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Save for Kikunari, everybody.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Soranica is life force. This is why overusing it is dangerous. Ophelia's Sattelite represents it most clearly, though Zenobia's Hyde a fact is also life force powered, which is the key to defeating her.
  • Chekhov's Gun: In the very first battle witnessed, one of Saya's rock weapons break. Fragments of it remain in the arena, once used as a threat against Honoka, once for Kikunari to try to kill himself.
  • The Chains of Commanding: Ophelia. Her announcement in "Say goodbye to 'day by day'" confirms it, and it's even more obvious in her own route even after she loses her position.
  • Clock Tower: Central to the setting. On the day of the fireworks, it opens up to let in the chosen couple (which is always Tsukasa and whichever girl's route he's on). It's also the site of the final battle.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Kaguya is weird. She uses the most Gratuitous English of the cast, and comes up with bizarre ideas (like drawing a magical circle during the summer camp).
  • Cooldown Hug: Given to Zenobia to stop her rampage. This also allows Tsukasa to take on her power and revitalize the Earth.
  • Cool Teacher: Innami, a really friendly guy who gets along with all his students.
  • Covert Pervert: Kaguya's pervertedness is out in the open, but Ophelia turns out to be surprisingly dirty-minded.
  • Cryptic Conversation: Pretty much every instance of Talking in Your Dreams with Maki. It should be noted that one of these scenes starts the story.
  • Curb Stomp Battle: Ophelia vs Zenobia on Ophelia's route.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Zenobia uses a power that's called Lucifer, and attacks with dark, demonic hands. She's not a bad person.
  • Distant Finale: "Blue blue blue", the epilogue played after the True End, showing Kikunari, Ophelia, Zenobia and Maki in the reborn world.
  • Dungeon Bypass: When the clock tower refuses to open for Tsukasa and Zenobia, he blasts the door open. Those fireworks will be seen.

  • Genki Girl: Naki has a bit of this, but Kaguya has a lot of it.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Because of her Alliterative Name, Saya is known as Saya-Saya-Sempai, which she doesn't like. (Not that her other nickname, Shota-sempai, is any better).
  • The End of the World as We Know It: A Class 6 Apocalypse How, going by the satellite picture.
  • Evil Laugh: Zenobia's got a pretty good one. So does the other Tsukasa.
  • Fertile Feet: Ophelia's original ability, to create life. She primarily used it to tend to the flowers in the hanging gardens.
  • First-Name Basis: Honoka is referred to only as "Yamamura", until she and Tsukasa hook up. That she still calls him this is one of the keys to restarting Tsukasa's memory in the true end.
  • The Generic Guy: This is what Saya's the most worried about, if she's too normal to be of note.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: Ophelia's are angelic, Zenobia's are fallen angelic, Naki's look like flames, Honoka's like water, and Saya and Kaguya's are insectoid.
  • Green Lantern Ring: How most of the powers are used. Saya's various rock-based weapons and Naki's various forms of fire stand out.
  • Groundhog Day Loop: Kaguya and Tsukasa repeat the day time was stopped for eternity at the end of her route. Tsukasa realizes this when the ingredients in the fridge restock and the TV keeps playing the same programs.
    • On a larger scale, this applies to the game as a whole. Every route is another iteration for Tsukasa. He remembers only vague details, but it's Zenobia's route where everything comes together.
  • Healing Factor/Healing Hands: Naki. Her power is the Phoenix, making her a variation of Fertile Feet as well.
  • Hot Springs Episode: There's a springs on campus, and a decent amount of time is spent there. Tsukasa has a dream where he and his new harem are in it.
  • Instant Runes
  • Japanese Pronouns: Notably, Saya uses "Boku" and Kaguya uses "Wagahai" (though she returns to "Watashi" when confronted with her fears.)
  • Karaoke Box: Saya and Tsukasa go to one during their date.
  • Karmic Jackpot: Tsukasa is the only person to take in Rare Cheese, the cat on campus. It turns out the cat is tied to the Soranica of the Clock Tower, and, in Tsukasa's mindspace, talks to him to offer his thanks for the final battle.
  • Kissing Cousins: Naki.
  • Literal Split Personality: Kaguya splits into her fear, her love for Tsukasa and her prayers. Only when all of them accept the end can they reunite.
  • Lethal Chef: Naki's idea of cooking is to throw several things together, and then cook it. Tsukasa runs when she starts getting ideas.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Kaguya, who initiates almost all the ero scenes on her route, and isn't afraid to get in a little yuri action with Saya (or anyone else) either.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Naki and Tsukasa do it on top of the clock tower. While the fireworks are going on. Tsukasa and Ophelia, too, but for entirely different reasons.
  • Meganekko: Honoka. Ophelia, too, but only when her Soranica can't reinforce her body.
  • Mooks: T2 summons up a bunch of demonic looking things that serve as his backup forces in the final fight.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Honoka is in love with Tsukasa even if her route isn't chosen. In Naki's route this manifests as her fighting Naki to the death over the right to Tsukasa. Considering Naki's power, she has a Healing Factor and survives.
  • Multiple Endings: Par for the course for a visual novel, however, all of them are ultimately canon. Even the Bad Ending. That one may be the most important of all, as it creates the evil!Tsukasa.
  • Mundane Utility: Zenobia uses her Hyde a fact to smash watermelons and grope Saya and Kaguya in the hot springs. Honoka's water, being filled with Soranica, also provides a rejuvenating boost.
  • My Greatest Failure: Ophelia hiding the world falling apart since she took office.
  • The Nicknamer: Kaguya, though Innami-sensei has some of this too. To differentiate the Hayasaka cousins, he calls Naki "Hayasaka Angel", and Tsukasa "Hayasaka Hydroxlapatite."
  • Ominous Latin Chanting: The battle tracks "Living End of Grave" and "Planar Pit".
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Shown most prominently in their own routes, Ophelia and Zenobia consider each other their arch rivals. In "My clear sky", this even extends to lovemaking.
  • OOC Is Serious Business: Ophelia, the normally straitlaced president, ties her hair up in Girlish Pigtails and starts acting like a little sister character. Everyone is left speechless.
  • Overly Long Name: Kaguya Lolotte Omi de la Patelliere. Zenobia Adelaide Albert Axelrod is also longer than normal. They both qualify as Multiethnic Names too.
  • Personality Powers
  • Pettanko: Kaguya and Saya. Kaguya embodies the Petite Pride side, Saya more A-Cup Angst.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: Ophelia.
  • Porn Stash: Tsukasa has one, and can bring it to Kaguya's secret base. Doing so has interesting (and sexy) consequences.
  • Power Gives You Wings: Kikunari is the only one whose Wings don't actually look like wings, instead manifesting as rings.
  • The Power of Love: Soranica and Wings change depending on their users' emotional state, and Ophelia notes explicitly that her training is making her stronger because Tsukasa's love for her boosts her power.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Zenobia using her Hyde a fact to "measure" Kaguya and Saya's busts, and Ophelia notes that thanks to living through multiple timelines, Tsukasa's become skilled at lovemaking.
  • Sacrificial Lion: Kikunari.

  • Skinship Grope: The three hot springs scenes with the girls all involve some variation of this.
  • Spam Attack: Ophelia's Sattelite, which fires balls of light at the target.

  • Teen Genius: Kaguya. She invented Final Answer 1, and even makes her own sex toys from scratch. She considers herself something of a Mad Scientist.
  • Tenchi Solution: The ultimate end of "My clear sky".
  • Theme Music Power-Up: "Glorius Anthem" is an orchestral arrangement of the opening theme, and plays at notable moments, including the end of the final battle.
  • Title Drop: The title is given as the last line of the poem that Maki recites at the game's start, as well as a mention by Zenobia of being the original name of Tsukasa's Wings.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: Zenobia isn't the one who decides the fate of the world, Tsukasa. It's you.
  • Two-Teacher School: Innami is the only teacher seen. Other teachers are mentioned, but they don't have screentime.
  • Virtual Ghost: Final Answer My Hero Zero is a Replacement Goldfish for Fernan Arcadelt, Kaguya's deceased childhood friend who made a Childhood Marriage Promise with her. He's glad to help Tsukasa out, but knows he needs to be deleted eventually.
  • We Named the Monkey "Jack": Ophelia named a fat cat that hangs around campus, Laertes, after her brother. Most of the school doesn't know that, though, and calls the cat "Rare Cheese."
  • Walking Wasteland: Zenobia's power, to bring destruction. It primarily manifests as Hyde a fact, but she can also mimic Ophelia's Sattelite, and create tiny black holes.
  • Weird Moon: The moon looks like a crescent - on its side. It's one of the first signs the world is messed up.
  • Wedding Day: The ultimate conclusion of Honoka's route. Kaguya is the priest.
  • Winged Humanoid: Though the wings are more like energy projections, and only show during battle.
  • Wham! Line: "The world is already ruined."
  • When She Smiles: Zenobia
  • Yandere: When Kaguya offers to be any character type Tsukasa wants, this is one of the options. She treats it like a joke. However, when she catches Tsukasa talking with Fernan Arcadelt (whose programming is causing him to have an error), her wish and his Wings activate, stopping time so she can be with him forever, and she talks about "ending it all".
  • You Are Not Alone: Saya feels like building the wall to save the island is impossible. Naki and Honoka rally the forces of the entire school to help her out, and they all gladly pitch in. This becomes something of an overarching theme of the whole game. Kaguya, Opehlia, Zenobia and Naki all have some shades of it in their routes as well.
