Fuck No TVTropes
This page needs some cleaning up to be presentable. Much of this page is only barely recognizable as English, and badly needs an edit pass by someone who actually speaks and writes the language. Some of the trope examples are more properly TV Tropes examples; documenting them in a blog doesn't make them the blog's tropes. Other trope entries here -- such as "Wimpification" -- misuse the trope in order to make them "apply" to FNTVT. |
Fuck No TVTropes is a Tumblr blog that, as the name explained, is opposed to TV Tropes, mainly all the horrible that has been spawned from it. While the blog author, Bogleech and Mark (who was the blog's moderator, does make some submissions of their own, it was mostly a community submission blog of things others find horrible about TV Tropes.
All The Tropes had also caught their attention and has been criticized whenever applicable as well.[1]
As of 2019, though, Fuck No TVTropes is long-abandoned; the most recent post is from March 2016. Surprisingly, it survived the kindergartenization of Tumblr in December 2018.
- Abusive Parents: What people thought of his/her parents whenever FNTVT jokingly answers them of how he became a casual anime watcher.
"I was so much of a weeaboo back in high school that my parents sent me to a camp run by Marcus Bachmann to make me normal. Now I'm more casual." |
- Accentuate the Negative: There are a few more good qualities to TV Tropes than the blog author lets on, but as the blog is not about the things the site does right, those rare gems of good are nearly always ignored.

- All Your Base Are Belong to Us: FNTVT reported that TV Tropes removed a clause in their rules which was basically this trope.

"Congrats, new mods. You're much more competent at website layout than the old mods." |
- Brain Bleach: ventingmyrage gone to fetish fuel wiki side of Tv Tropes, he plead for death.
RIP. |
- The Rugrats page of Tv Tropes has a ridiculous yet detailed entry about Phil and Lil's "Incest Subtext."

- Damned By Faint Praise: The blog author, after being asked if there's anything he likes about TV Tropes, has this to say.
I suppose a good aspect would be how they kept all the subpages on the top of the pages. That way you won’t have to go through the entire article looking for a link to their character page. |
- Darker and Edgier: The Author quips, "Now, that's what I call Edgy", when he found out that about a Tv Troper's opinion about Christian LGBTS in the "A Single Unified LGBT Conversation" thread.

And the wife's horrified look, not just about almost getting killed but also realizing that her husband is gone forever.
MOD Note: I felt really sorry for Leatherface when he chainsawed off those college students heads, too. such pain. Such angst. |
- On the TV Trope Puella Magi Madoka Magica's YMMV page, listed both Mami and Homura as memetic sex goddesses when actuality the girls are just young to mid age teenagers, FNTVT stated that these characters are designed for audiences to feel sorry for them. Instead...
"But all tropers care about are dem tits and dat hair." |
- TV Tropes just compared Assigned Male, a seemingly harmless webcomic, to Billy the Heretic, is questionable, considering that the lead is about a transgender girl.
- Averted, since most of the sexist paragraphs had been already edited out.

- Even TV Tropes Has Standards: When the Other Tropes wiki took down their pages on Stormfront, Metapedia, Fundies Say The Darndest Things etc., bogleech hopes that their reasons for dotng this isn't for "Oh, these pages are too negative and we need to embrace all types of people, including Neo Nazis and Westbroro Baptist Church."
- Everything's Better with Dinosaurs: An Anonymous submitter questions the what's does "pro-dinosaur" mean?

"Viva la revolución." |
- Lolicon: A submitter made a mistake, assuming that TV Tropes gotten rid of the lolicon pages, until he saw one of the examples for the "Lovable Sex Maniac" was a pedophile character. Bogleech answered that's its just the loli pages' removal was only the surface area, though to actually purge all things loli from TV Tropes, one needs to purge the pedophile tropers.
"You can take the Lolicon pages out but you won't be able to take out the Lolicon lovers." |
- Magical Girls: Th author responded to expendable-fan quipped that everything that TV Tropers say about "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha" was disgusting.

"When TV Tropes is literally dead." |
- Torches and Pitchforks: The same submitter that show FNTVT that awful Assassin's Creed: Syndicate edit earlier asked what was Kramer vs. KramerGate? Bogleech answered it's his go-to way to talk about the Gamer thing without mentioning it, because it's like Bloody Mary.
- Trolling: The author was musing that TV Tropers might be trolling whenever they keep track of anime and games that are like Hyperdimension Neptunia or are using it as a joke just to say good things about it.

- Race Lift: lesbianmichelmishina and FNTVT noticed that some of the examples, like Sailor Pluto and Matt, classified as Scary Black Man, when those characters don't fit the trope in question.
- Unfortunate Implications: Some TV Tropes examples are:
- The Straight Gay's examples, makes the page very sexist and appears that the only proper way to be gay is to be lumbersexual.
- Another was when a Troper placed George the Moose, a character that has dyslexia, as one of the examples for the "Moose Are Idiots."
MOD Note: I'm very bothered about how they're labeling him as an idiot because of a disability. I'm also bothered about how they have a whole trope dedicated to how people view moose..." |

- One of the forum Tropes of the Other Tropes wiki was exclaiming that, "Bronies have it so fucking hard!"...

"Why do these people always have to look so deeply into my little niece's favorite Nick Jr. shows?" |
- Another example was the Bubble Guppies' YMMV page, which talks about romance in a young kids' show, that has no romance at all.
- The Pinocchio's Does This Remind You of Anything? page, and the TV Troper thinking too deeply that a kid's movie was referencing erections.
- When FNTVT, mod, and the submitters' reactions to the "incest subtexts", especially to some of the above examples.
- The Secret Life of a Mermaid has the tropers describing what seductive poses the preteen mermaids should have.
- Wimpification: The "Fuck No Tv Tropes" author, mod, and its submitters views most of the TV Tropes' residents, including the mods, as those that cannot take criticism, questioning the site's directions or the mods' choices, or as in the case with Cracked, cannot jokes, which kinda explains why many Tv Tropes pages (like this tumblr blog), Encyclopedia Dramatica, 4chan, and many pages were eventually purge.
- It's not just pages, even Tropers were banned for these very reasons, like some of the examples from above.
- ↑ And when the criticism was valid and not just "tropers are icky", we have addressed matters.
