Supernormal Step/Characters

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Here's the main cast of Supernormal Step. Descriptions are taken from the comic's about page and from the character reference sheets.

Fiona Mairi Dae

"I was doing perfectly fine in my normal little world and I just want to get back to where I belong!"

A girl from our world trapped in this weird one. She's trying to figure out a way home and trying to figure herself out as well. She's shown incredible skill in surviving, taught to her by her father. After her father died, she tore away from her family, often doing not so legal things to get by.

Van Henry Abrahams

"This is exactly what it looks like; would you care to join in?"

Full-time lady killer, ex-blood mage. Van could actually be considered the most responsible person in the group. The only thing that can sometimes distract him from his duties is his love of women. He goes for all types: blondes, brunettes, redheads, vampires...

Jim Teague Black

"Fine! Once again, let's detour from my original problem!"

A jerk of the highest caliber. Luckily, someone saw fit to punish him for that. He's actually human, but his curse dictates that he will only be human for as long as he's a good person. What does this mean for a man like Jim? A hell of a lot of time spent as a stuffed bunny.

Akela Leanne T'nadne

"I'd say in your dreams, but I'd rather you just die."

First introduced as a snarky cashier background character, Akela was later revealed as an active member of the Nameless. Currently, she's following and helping Fiona on assignment from said organization - although she seems to have a personal investment as well.

May Aveline Dolingan

"Listen, Fiona - and oll trae te sae this in me most un-der-stand-a-ble accent..."

Former girlfriend of Van, and thick accented Irish vampire. May is a formidable combatant and often hides in trunks... well, mostly the one attached to Van's car.

Henderson Security

Halland Leander Henderson

"It's called being nice to the citizens; you should try it."

One of Mr. Henderon's top enforcers. Calm, collected, seemingly unkillable, and covered in scars. He thinks things through more than his sister Eva and generally cares about people more.

Evangeline Kali Henderson

"I'm always right for once!"

Hall's sister has the same unkillable tendencies he does but without the calm and collected part. She's pretty energetic, and she can often be seen poking and prodding Hall into sibling quarrels. She takes action over thinking any day and loves to fight.

Cavan Henderson

"My name is Mr. Henderson; you shall use it with respect."

Leader of the United States. Cavan Henderson was appointed to the role when he single-handedly won World War II. Most people seem fine with his rule, but there's also a large number who aren't happy.

The Nameless

Cecilia Isi Grant

"This is why I live in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere."

One of the key members of a group called The Nameless, and the person that taught Fiona to use magic after arriving in the Supernormal 'Verse. Cecilia often plays the role of mentor to Fiona, Jim, and Van.

Em (Melissa)

"..."

A white-skinned, mouthless, pupil-and-iris-less shapeshifting girl. Formerly called Miss Nameless in old concept art.

Maxi (Maximiano)

"Ooh, a whatsit!"

Cecilia's lover and a magical object aficionado.

Derry

"ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES!"

A magic eater who wears some nice threads and a smiley face mask. Does not like Fiona.

Otooaibooaomtgmkciitmom

Mr. Kite

"Whatever, I'm bored, nothing left to burn, let's get out of here."

Some guy who's got some motive. Nobody really knows what that is, or who he is, really.

Beatle

"Luck of the draw, I guess! Trust me when I say plans B through 19 were completely insane."

He's a robotic man and a gentleman! He's Mr. Kite's favorite lackey, and that's about it.

Elvina and Britta

"I swear it'll work this time."

Two scientist twins who are quite good at the science thing and failures at most everything else. They work for Mr. Kite, which isn't really good when they do the whole failing thing.

Dollface

"Not I, said the cat, I could not tell the weeds from the wheat."

A shapeshifter puppet lady working for Mr. Kite. To quote the author, "she's kind of spooky."

Additional Antagonists

Edvard De Santigo

A wizard who owned the only additional copy of Supernormal Steps, the book Van and Jim used to pull Fiona to the Supernormal 'Verse.

Fenris

"I see. Well, this will be messy, but it can't be avoided. Hold still please."

An Eldritch Abomination who was awoken by Mr. Kite for reasons unknown.

Miscellaneous

Jackson Dae

"We'll start today by reviewing yesterday's lesson on being trapped in a room with no exits. What can you tell me about walls?"

Fiona's dad, who died a while ago. There's more to him than meets the eye.

Alice Roselie Bellerose

A woman who was trained by Fiona's dad.

Dave Gold

"Bloody hell, I hope my equipment isn't wiped."

A British techie. Has a fridge that magically produces sandwiches.

Rascal

The owner of Rascal's restaurant.

  • Benevolent Boss: He gives Fiona a job and welcomes her into his "family," until Fiona becomes famous. Then he's:
    • Bad Boss: He exploits Fiona's fame and tries to guilt her about it when she gets annoyed.
  • Eyes Always Shut

Daisy

A waitress at Rascal's. Em's roommate and one of Fiona's first friends in the Supernormal 'Verse.

Jules

A blood mage who wears a skull on his face. Surrogate parent to Van.
