The heroine's childhood friend, and Ruka's older brother. Despite his intimidating appearance and brusque speech, he cares deeply about Ruka and the heroine. Loves anything vintage and collects antiques. Like his brother, studying isn't Kou's strong point and often he scores either only a few points higher or lower than Ruka on exams.

Latest revision as of 19:44, 29 August 2023

This sub-division of the Tokimeki Memorial Character Sheet is dedicated to characters having appeared in the New Habataki Saga of the franchise, i.e. Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 3rd Story.

Ruka Sakurai

Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita

The heroine's childhood friend, and Kouichi's younger brother. He hides his true thoughts behind an easygoing attitude, always flirting and joking around. Loves high places and wants to be a "hero". Unlike the usual main guys of the series, Ruka's grades are fairly low, but he is still popular with the girls of the school.

Heroine: Though Ruka was always smiling, he was a boy with sad looking eyes...

Kouichi Sakurai

Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe

The heroine's childhood friend, and Ruka's older brother. Despite his intimidating appearance and brusque speech, he cares deeply about Ruka and the heroine. Loves anything vintage and collects antiques. Like his brother, studying isn't Kou's strong point and often he scores either only a few points higher or lower than Ruka on exams.

Ruka: Your face is just too scary, Kou. Anyone who sees you would think you're a bad guy.

  • Fear of Thunder: Rather than Kouichi himself, the heroine is shown to have this fear during a date event. Kou comforts her and teaches her a method of making thunder seem less frightening.
  • First-Name Basis: Same as Ruka, Kou won't allow the heroine to call him by his family name.
  • Gentle Giant
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: At 190 cm, he is the tallest dateable guy in the series so far.
  • Like Brother and Sister: This is Kou's initial description of the relationship between himself and the protagonist. If you follow his route though, Kou admits during his confession that he's had feelings for her since they were kids and has been trying to hide it precisely because she's been like a little sister to him.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Which makes the sincere smiles he shows to the heroine all the better.
  • Perpetual Poverty
  • Real Men Eat Meat: His favorite food is steak done rare.
  • Real Men Hate Sugar: Kou also happens to dislike sweets, which is why he'll refuse the heroine's Valentine's chocolate if his affection isn't high enough.
  • Sibling Triangle: If the heroine initiates his and Ruka's 3P mode.
  • Straight Man: He is decidedly more serious than Ruka, and so he often takes the tsukkomi role when they're together.
  • Taking the Heat: In his route, he covers for Ruka when the police question Kou about an incident involving the Yotokado delinquents.
  • Triang Relations: Against Ruka if the heroine triggers their PvP mode.

Arashi Fujiyama

Voiced by: Eiji Miyashita

Arashi is the athletic, sporty guy of the game. He practices judo, and started a club for it at Habataki High.

  • Animal Battle Aura: A bear.
  • Big Eater
  • Book Dumb: Pretty much always gets low, if not the lowest, scores on the exams.
  • The Comically Serious: This is especially apparent whenever he's around Niina, who loves to exploit this trait for laughs. Examples include a rather amusing moment where Niina attempts to teach Arashi some of his favorite bits of slang. Arashi ends up getting the words wrong and instead of saying 'マジパネェ' (read 'maji panee', meaning 'totally awesome') he ends up saying 'ガチパレード' (read 'gachi pareedo', meaning something along the lines of 'seriously parade').
  • Determinator: Usually when practicing/training for/thinking about judo.
  • Friendly Rivalry: With Niina. It becomes decidedly less friendly if their PvP mode is activated.
  • Hot-Blooded: Mostly when it comes to Judo.
  • Meddling Parents: Arashi wants to keep doing judo even after he graduates from high school—against his parents' wishes, of course.
  • Odd Couple: The other half is Niina.
  • Straight Man: When Arashi and Niina are together, Arashi usually serves as the foil for Niina's silly actions.
  • Triang Relations: Against Junpei if the heroine triggers their PvP mode.

Junpei Niina

Voiced by: Atsushi Kisaichi

The fashion-conscious one, Niina is a year younger than the heroine and enrolls during her second year. He will join the Judo Club if the heroine is the manager.

  • Accidental Athlete: Has to be literally chased down by Arashi in order for him to join the Judo Club, and Niina proves to be quite good at it.
  • Animal Battle Aura: A... raccoon.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: His brother Teppei.
  • The Beard: One event has Niina pretending that the heroine is his girlfriend in front of his classmates.
  • Catch Phrase: "Totally awesome!" He doesn't say it often enough for it to be a Verbal Tic, but it does tend to crop up in a lot of his dialogue.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: The player can bump into Niina several times if they go shopping alone during the first year before he actually enters Habataki. In fact, meeting him like this is the only way to get one of his special CG events.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Niina seems to just be a Handsome Lech at first, but he turns out to be a better guy than first impressions give him credit for.
  • Continuity Nod: Is a fan of Kei Hazuki from the 1st Girl's Side game. He may also bring up the old rumor of Himuro being an android while walking home with the heroine.
  • Cuteness Overload: Just try dating him at the Wan-Nyan house at the zoo.
  • The Fashionista
  • First-Name Basis: With everyone. He never refers to anyone by their surname, nor does he use the honorific "-senpai" (unless he's joking). However, no one calls him by anything but "Niina".
  • Friendly Rivalry: With Arashi.
  • Friend to All Children
  • Gratuitous English: Actually uses it more than Ruka and Karen combined.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Touched upon in the ADV Event "Like Begets Like"; just as Niina can fall for the older heroine, his father did the same with Niina's mother.
  • Say It with Hearts: Frequently to accent his flirty nature.
  • Sempai-Kohai: Niina is a year behind the protagonist at school.
  • Skilled but Naive: Niina has a natural talent for judo, but lacks the years of experience that Arashi has under his belt.
  • Smarter Than You Look: He even says this of himself.
  • Triang Relations: Against Arashi if the heroine triggers their PvP mode.

Tamao Konno

Voiced by: Susumu Chiba

The student council president, a year older than the heroine. He is the younger brother of Tamami Konno from the first Girl's Side game. Kind and studious, he is reliable and always tries to do his best to help those around him.

  • Blind Without'Em: After the school play, he admits he couldn't see the heroine's face very well without his glasses.
  • Continuity Nod: Tamao's older sister is Konno Tamami, a rival/friend character from the first Tokimeki Girl's Side game. She makes an appearance during a short event in which Tamao hides himself and the protagonist from her as she walks by. His explanation for avoiding her? "She'll tease me about this for at least a month if she catches us..."
    • In one event, the protagonist sees him doing 'greeting exercises' outside the school gates during the morning, much like Hikami Itaru from Girl's Side 2. Unlike Hikami, however, he actually gets a decent response out of the student body.
  • Covert Pervert: Believe it or not, Tamao has a bit of a reputation among the fandom for being a Covert Pervert due to some of his more, erm... 'suggestive' lines of dialogue. The especially raunchy ones are said randomly (and rarely!) at the title screen. Some of these include "Let's do it in your room today," and "Sorry, my voice got a bit too loud... haha, how embarrassing."
  • Extreme Doormat: Has trouble saying no to people out of fear of betraying their expectations of him.
  • Friend to All Children
  • Like Brother and Sister: Tamao considers this when trying to describe his feelings on the heroine.

Tamao: I think it's like having a younger sister.
Seiji: In your case, isn't it more like having a daughter?

Seiji Shitara

Voiced by: Shinnosuke Tachibana

A genius pianist from a wealthy family, and the heroine's senior by a year. Seiji tends to speak rudely and is dishonest with his feelings. Has a complex over not being good at anything but the piano and can be a little naive at times.

  • Big Fancy House
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: During an argument with Tamao, Seiji tells him to explain the concept of the routine by actually acting it out. He pins the boke role onto the heroine, who thinks to herself that Seiji fits the role better alongside a tsukkomi Tamao.
  • Book Dumb: Hates studying and mostly slacks off whenever Tamao tries to help him prepare for exams.
  • Caught in the Rain: Occurs during a date event, though nothing overtly romantic occurs (considering the event can be activated at even neutral affection).
  • Childhood Friends: Was fairly close to the Sakurai brothers when they were younger.
  • Deadpan Snarker
  • Determinator: After the heroine inspires him to continue practicing the piano, Seiji begins entering contests again and decides to enroll into an art university. He even begins studying around in Paris, potentially bringing the heroine along with him.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: "Sei-chan". In fact, he hates it so much that it is one of the nicknames that the heroine can never safely call him by.
  • Food End: His bonus ending CG is of the heroine and him going out for okonomiyaki together.
  • Friend to All Children: Although he makes comments suggesting he doesn't like kids, he is actually quite patient and good with them.
  • Host Club: His ADV Event "Class Exhibition" reveals this to be what his class chose to do for the Culture Festival. It's also the only way to find out, since Seiji completely dodges the heroine's questioning of his plans and even seems to be running away from his duties on the actual festival day.
  • Lonely Rich Kid
  • Meaningful Name: The kanji of his surname can be read as "to create music".
  • Mundane Object Amazement: Seiji is amazed by takoyaki and okonomiyaki, both of which are ordinary, everyday types of food.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Wears one if he comes to the Culture Festival in the heroine's 3rd year. He seems completely convinced that his outfit has managed to fool the people around him, and the heroine doesn't have the heart to tell him otherwise.
  • Red String of Fate: The fandom seems to associate him with it, even though it is only mentioned in a 3P conversation on top of being brought up by Tamao, not Seiji.
  • Sempai-Kohai: Seiji makes up the other half of the 'senpai' duo consisting of himself and Tamao.
  • Smart People Play Chess
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: If he shows up earlier than the agreed time on a date, he will insist that he definitely did not go out of his way to arrive early.
  • Travel Cool: Seiji's family is rich enough to have their own personal chauffeur.
  • Triang Relations: Against Tamao if the heroine triggers their PvP mode.
  • Tsundere: Type A.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Tamao as a result of their completely opposite personalities. Unsurprisingly, Seiji does most of the insulting.
  • Why Did It Have To Be Dandelions?: Has an extreme fear of dandelion seeds because he'd been tricked as a child into believing that they'd make him go deaf if they got into his ears. As a musician, Seiji considers losing his hearing to be a Fate Worse Than Death, thus his panic when the heroine unknowingly blows the seeds at him.
  • You Gotta Have Silver Hair: Like Tamao, Seiji's hair color is odd among a cast of mostly brunet/ttes, especially in combination with his red eyes.

Chikara Oosako

Voiced by: Mitsuhiro Ichiki

The heroine's homeroom teacher for all three years. Always full of energy and popular with the students. Unlike the previous two teachers in the series, he is not dateable (although you can get an ending for him).

Miyo Ugajin

Voiced by: Saori Goto

One of the heroine's best friends, soft-spoken Miyo is the source of information, having essentially the same role as Tsukushi and Yuu from the 1st and 2nd Girl's Side games. She believes strongly in horoscopes and fortune-telling. Despite her cute appearance, Miyo hates being treated like a child.

Karen Hanatsubaki

Voiced by: Ami Koshimizu

A member of the famous Hanatsubaki family, she helps the heroine with anything fashion related. Karen is usually very cheerful and upbeat, but is uncomfortable with her fan following because they don't see her as an individual beyond the Hanatsubaki name.

Taiyou Kasuga

Voiced by: Yuuichi Iguchi

A junior high student first met when he comes to sight-see at the high school. As he is two years younger, Taiyou becomes a student at the high school in the heroine's 3rd year. He can only be encountered if the heroine becomes the manager of the Baseball Club.

Shuugo Aizawa

Voiced by: Takeshi Kusao

The writer behind a hugely popular romance novel series that had decided to leave the third installment unfinished and never release it. The heroine can become a fan of his work and encourage him to complete his series.

  • Cruel to Be Kind: Zigzagged. After completing his writing, he tells the heroine to never come visit him at his home again, but is genuinely happy if she comes to his book signing a few months later. Presumably he wanted to protect her, but the game provides little insight into his reasoning.
  • First Love: Included in the titles of his novels.
  • Freudian Slip: Aizawa tells the heroine that the protagonist of his novel was able to pick himself up and ultimately succeed because of her, instead of the heroine of the novel.
  • Glory Days: Doesn't look back on them particularly fondly, and is unable to believe he was once a best-selling author. His third novel wins him a Nobel Prize, putting back him the spotlight. He admits he'd much rather give the prize back.
  • Guardian Angel: Thinks of the heroine as such.
  • He Cleans Up Nicely
  • Love Is a Weakness: Aizawa intended to give up on love entirely after completing his last novel, in spite of his growing feelings for the heroine.
  • May–December Romance
  • Must Have Caffeine
  • Not a Date: He's simply taking his niece out. Though, in this case, it really isn't a date, as he's trying to avoid having to work by using the heroine as an excuse.
  • Perma-Stubble
  • Secret Character
  • Separated by the Wall: In his save icon.
  • Writer's Block
  • Write Who You Know

Kenta Taira

Voiced by: Hisayoshi Suganuma

The heroine's friendly, but average, classmate. Kenta always encourages and looks out for the heroine, but his attempts to get close to her often end up in failure.

Reiichi Himuro

Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu

The teacher of the first Girl's Side game is back with a vengeance, and still as cold and strict as ever. He's however no longer winnable here, and is in charge of the Wind Instrument Club.

  • Hot Teacher: Well, look at him.
  • Running Gag: Several characters will discuss the rumor of Himuro being an android built in the church. It even pops up during Aizawa's route, where he takes the heroine to the bar that Himuro's friend owns, recognizable to players of the first Girl's Side game.
    • A doodle of the Himuro android also appears on the chalkboard during the post-game credits roll.
  • Stern Teacher: Though his view on the Brass Band has relaxed some, he will still kick the heroine out of the band if she misses a single practice, or scores too poorly on exams.
  • Stoic Spectacles: He's wearing a decidedly more modern pair than the ones he sported in Girl's Side 1 to go along with the rest of his upgraded look.

Ikkaku Amanohashi

Voiced by: Juurouta Kosugi

Another character coming back from the first Girl's Side game. He's still Habataki High's Chairman, but is no longer winnable.

  • Running Gag: It seems that Gorou is still hounding him to try out his line of men's swimwear, according to a conversation between Karen and Amanohashi that the heroine witnesses.
