Fanboy and Chum Chum

The eponymous, hyperactive duo, who live by the rule of no work and all play. They spend most of their free time hanging out in the local convenience store or having all kinds of wacky adventures in their house, which lacks any kind of adult resident. They are both comic book nerds (although much less so than Oz) and get ecstatic about the tiniest things.

• Cool Mask: Fanboy has one, although he lacks any real powers.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Nika Futterman as Chum Chum.
• Deuteragonist: Chum Chum.
• Expressive Mask: In this case, their masks are the same color as their eyelids.
• Expy: Fanboy resembles Sheen from Jimmy Neutron in appearance and behavior. His head also resembles Ed's from Tonic Trouble.
• Fat and Skinny: Chum Chum and Fanboy respectively.
• Fan Boys: So much that they wear costumes that make them look like super heroes for all their life.
  • Fanboy even names himself after this trope.
• Fartillery: Chum Chum's underwear "explodes" on Yo in "Prank Master".
• Gasshole: Both of them are this, but it's more prominent with Fanboy.
• Heterosexual Life Partners: To the point where they are intent on becoming "immortal companions" in "Fangboy". In "Separation Anxiety", their friendship is so strong that if they are apart, it causes a rip in the space-time continuum.

• Hey, It's That Voice!: Fanboy is Rickety Cricket and Chum Chum is Adam Lyon.

• No Indoor Voice: From "Total Recall":

Oz: Ix-nay on the outside voice-ay! Chum Chum: Fanboy only has an outside voice. He was born that way.

• No Name Given / Only Known by Their Nickname: Both of them, though in "Seperation Anxiety" Fanboy reveals his true name, Tobias.
  • Though that's just speculation, because the name he signs the letter with is "Lance Corporal Tobias Cranapple Fanboy III" as a reference to dramatic western movies. Whether any of the names used are actually his real name isn't very likely.
• No Sense of Personal Space: Both of them, but Fanboy is more prone to this.
• Ping-Pong Naivete
• Phlebotinum-Induced Stupidity: Fanboy literally loses his brain in "Brain Drain" and acts like an even bigger idiot than usual.
• Reality Warpers
• Screams Like a Little Girl: Fanboy in "Man-Arctica the Ride". The other kids all think it was a girl who was screaming the whole time.

• Trademark Favorite Drink: Frosty Freezy Freeze, of course.

Kyle the Conjurer (aka, Kyle Bloodworth Tomison)

Voiced by: Jamie Kennedy

Kyle is a snarky, grumpy kid who, depending on the episode, takes the role of either the antagonist or a tritagonist for Fanboy and Chum Chum. He actually possesses wizardly powers, although no one believes him.

• Ambiguously Gay: When he and Fanboy are trying to decide which board game to play, his first pick is "Mr. Unicorn's Teddy Bear Dress Up Fashion Show".
  • In the "Fanboy and Chum Chum Bible", which is a compliation of ideas Eric Robles wrote down before the show started, Kyle was originally supposed to have a crush on Yo, and although he has never showed any interest in her in the actual series, this could make him Ambiguously Bi.
  • When he states that the town isn't big enough for two wizards in There Will Be Shrieks, look at his hand movements.
  • In "Fanboy A'hoy!", we get this:

Kyle: And will there be decorative soaps with fancy perfumes?!

• Alliterative Name: Kinda.
• Badass Cape
• Braces of Orthodontic Overkill: Kyle has fairly normal braces, but they're extremely noticeable due to his large teeth. In "Night Morning", he wears enormous headgear complete with its own train set.

• Dynamic Character: Probably the only one who got any Character Development.
• Ensemble Darkhorse: Just count the number of threads about him on the Nickelodeon messageboards.
• Evil Laugh: He gets one in "Lord of the Rings".
• Expy: Of Harry Potter (Sigmund appears to be his Malfoy), although his attitude is extremely different.
• Fake Brit: Jamie Kennedy voices him.
• Fiery Redhead
• Fridge Horror: In his debut episode, Kyle casually references the time where he turned his teacher into food and ate them, meaning Kyle has no problems with actually killing people.
  • Jossed: A later episode revealed he was turned into a sentient flan and Kyle didn't eat him.
• Grumpy Bear / Sour Supporter: Depending on whether he's siding with Fanboy and Chum Chum or antagonizing them.
• Inept Mage
• Inferiority Superiority Complex: There are hints of this in "Sigmund the Sorcerer".
• Magic Misfire: Quite a bit, especially when Fanboy and Chum Chum get a hold of his Magic Wand.

• New Transfer Student: Well, technically, he was expelled from his Wizarding School, but same thing.
• Only Sane Man: When the plot demands it. Other times, he's just as quirky as the rest of the characters.

• Teacher's Pet: In "The Book Report of the Dead", Mr. Mufflin even refers Kyle as "suck-up".
• Tome of Eldritch Lore: He's casually used the Necronomicon to get out of jams.
• Tsundere: Type A. He's always rejecting Fanboy and Chum Chum, but it has been hinted several times that he craves their friendship. Especially in the Sigmund the sorcerer episode.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: Fanboy and Chum Chum believe they are best friends with Kyle, even though he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with them.
  • Although, in a show where you wouldn't expect there to be any Character Development, Kyle has actually started liking Fanboy and Chum Chum, and he even admits they're his friends in "Sigmund the Sorcerer."

Yo

Voiced by: Dyana Liu

An incredibly energetic girl who loves her digital pet Yamaguchi. She is one of Fanboy and Chum Chum's schoolmates. Being vulnerable to all things cute and tiny, she becomes extremely obsessive whenever Chum Chum is involved, often to the point of insanity.

• And Call Him George: Yo is obsessed with taking Chum Chum home, dressing him up in a sailor outfit, and putting him on her toy shelf.
• Artificial Limbs: She has a couple of Doc Ock-like robotic arms in her backpack.
• Asian Airhead: Type 2. Though it's not like everyone else is exactly a genius.
• Cell Phone: She has one in "Brain Drain" that allows her to teleport anywhere.
• Cute Bruiser: In "Prank Master".
  • "In Yo face!"
• Companion Cube: Her best friend is a pine cone named Ingrid, and she treats her digital pet, Scampers, like it's a real cat.
• Cuteness Proximity: She tries uses her girlish charm to her advantage.

• Fan Girl: With her maniacal obsession with digital pets, cute things, and Chum Chum.
• Friend Versus Lover: In a way, she sees Fanboy as the greatest hurdle between her and Chum Chum.
• Genki Girl: So genki, she can appear in two places at once.
• Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Several are seen in her room, along with a few small children.
• I'm Taking Chum Chum Home With Me!
• Reality Warper
• Stalker Shrine: She has one for Chum Chum with candles and a burning cauldron.
• Stalker with a Crush: Big time. In "Trading Day", she even trapped Chum Chum in a giant virtual pet case.
• Stalking Is Funny If It Is Female After Male
• Tastes Like Diabetes: "Doesn't Prank Day make you think of rainbows and puppies and Chum Chum?!"
• Tsundere: There are signs of her being a type B. She becomes unpleasant sometimes, particularly when dealing with Fanboy.
• Yandere: Although her craziness varies Depending on the Writer. In some episodes she can't keep her hands off Chum Chum, and other times, she acts like she doesn't notice him.

Ozwald "The Oz" Harmounian

Voiced by: Josh Duhamel

A nerd who lives and runs a comic book shop with his mother. Considered by Fanboy and Chum Chum to be the smartest human being to have ever existed, due to his excessive knowledge of comics.

• Fan Boy: He's more stereotypical example than Fanboy and Chum Chum.

• Momma's Boy
• The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: His business policy is actually never to sell anything. To him, the shop exists only so that he has a place to put all his cool stuff. This is lampshaded mercilessly in "Hypnotized".

Fanboy: Remember this? This was the first dollar you ever made! And you swore you'd never make another!

• Spell My Name with a "The": Although, it's actually a rare occurrence for him to be called The Oz.
• Verbal Tic: He seriously has one, like seriously.

Boogregard "Boog" Shlizetti

Voiced by: Jeff Bennett

A local bully who works in the Frosty Mart convenience store alongside Lenny (although using the word "work" is probably giving him too much credit). He appears to treasure his possessions far more than the people around him and enjoys picking on kids much younger than him.

• Companion Cube: He talks to the Chimp Chomp machine as if it's his girlfriend. He's the same way with his car named Sandy.
• High-Pressure Emotion: He has shown this at least three times. In one instance, he gets so angry that the lid to his cup hat blows off.

• Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Manly Man to Lenny's Sensitive Guy.
• Shout-Out: He's an obvious John Travolta parody with a sweet ride named Sandy as an homage to Grease.
• Talking to Himself: Jeff Bennett also plays Agent Johnson, Man-Arctica, Mr. Mufflin, and many other characters.
• Unusual Euphemism: In "The Frosty Bus", Boog says to the titular duo, "I am gonna bop the boppin' bop out of you two!" In "A Bopwork Orange", after Agent Johnson says he is fired, Boog replies with, "What the... bop?!"
• Vanity License Plate: Boog's license plate reads "BORN 2 BOP".
• Would Hit a Girl: He has no problem bopping Yo along with the other kids.
• Younger Than They Look: He's supposed to be in his teens, but he looks like he's in his early twenties.
  • But in Back From The Future, they went back five years to when Boog was first employed, so he has to actually be in his twenties.
• You Fail Linguistics Forever: Lampshaded, as Fanboy and Chum Chum giggle at him right after he says this:

Boog: Get out of this bubble and take your boppin' like a man! ...s.

Leonard "Lenny" Flynn Boyle

Voiced by: Wyatt Cenac

Like Boog, he works in the local Frosty Mart. Lenny appears to be permanently stressed out/spiritless and absolutely loathes Fanboy and Chum Chum's hijinks. Basically a standard Butt Monkey of the show.

Fanboy and Chum Chum's class' Apathetic Teacher. Speaks with a ridiculously monotone, dull voice and is exceedingly hateful of his job. Sometimes refers to Fanboy as "Purple Kid" and to Chum Chum as "Talking Raccoon".

He and Kyle used to attend the same school for wizards, which is how they became rivals. Sigmund is clearly more acknowledged and advanced in wizardry than Kyle, much to Kyle's anguish.
