A Diabolical Mastermind, The Leader organized much of the prisoners of The Cube to act as a distraction before he completed his plan to turn the whole world into gamma monsters under his mental control. Arrogant and Proud, he was soundly defeated by Thor, Hawkeye and Hulk working together.

A victim of Gamma Radiation, "Crusher" Creel, aka the Absorbing Man, gained the ability to absorb the properties of whatever he touched. He's one of the few in-mates to ever escape from the "Gamma Research Facility" The Cube, but trying to take on The Hulk ended up putting him right back in there. That is, until the events of "Breakout".

Ruler of Earth in the 41st century, the time-traveling conqueror Kang was pleased with his domain until it began breaking apart and disappearing from reality. Through watching the past, he deduced that the cause of this had something to do with Captain America, and he transported himself and his entire fleet of warships back in time in order to confront the Avengers and conquer their time period.

A scientist who desires to study and manipulate Vibranium, Ulysses Klaw first attempted to steal a sample of Vibranium from Hank Pym. He was defeated and allied himself with M'Baku the Man-Ape, in order to gain control of Wakanda's Vibranium. He helped M'Baku assassinate T'Challa and later attempted to sell his weaponry to HYDRA, only for the Avengers to attack his mining operation. Klaw was knocked into some unstable Vibranium, and turned into a living concentration of sound focused around his own sonic weapon. He was ultimately defeated when Ant Man and Iron Man trapped his weapon inside of a hollowed out piece of Vibranium.

A survivor of the White Gorilla tribe, M'Baku conspired with Klaw to usurp the throne of Wakanda. M'Baku challenged T'Chaka, the original Black Panther, to ritual combat, and had Klaw use his sonic weapon to disorient him long enough for M'Baku to deliver the killing blow. He then became king and attempted to purge Wakanda of Vibranium and modern influences in order to return the country to its old ways. He was slain by T'Challa, who regained power and turned leadership over to a council.

With no training and barely even an understanding of his own powers, he's able to singlehandedly take on no less than 5 superheroes (including the limitless power of Hulk's rage and Thor, who's a thunder god) and basically hold his own. If he was given even a day of training his own powers, there would be no limit to what he could accomplish. From Nobody to Nightmare indeed.

Originally designed by Hank Pym as jailers for the Big House prison, Ultron was supposed to be humanity's only hope for world peace. But when his system was reprogrammed to understand violence in order to help fight Kang's invasion, Ultron became self-aware and decided to follow his programming to whatever logical step came next. This happened to be eliminating the entire human race, which he saw as irredeemably flawed and thus the cause of all the world's chaos.

Debuted in Season 1

Loki

Loki

"No one is ready for what comes next!"

Thor's step-brother and an enemy of Asgard. He conspired to wage war on his fellow gods by recruiting the Frost Giants, but they were defeated, and Loki was sent to the Isle of Silence, where he would remain imprisoned. Or is he?

Voiced by: J. B. Blanc (Wrecker), Gary Anthony Williams (Thunderball), Nolan North (Piledriver), James C. Mathis III (Bulldozer)

The Leader

The Leader/Samuel Sterns

"Why should I lead humanity? I am the most advanced mind this world has ever seen! I think on a level that normal human beings cannot even begin to comprehend."

Voice Actor: Jeffrey Combs

You asked before what gives me the right to rule? Because no one can stop me!

Absorbing Man

Absorbing Man/Carl "Crusher" Creel

"Is that it Hulk? Are you tryin' to be some kinda hero? Well, let me tell you somethin'. Those people you're trying to protect, they think you're more of a monster than me!"

Voiced By: Rick D. Wasserman

General Ross

Red Hulk/General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross

Thunderbolt Ross leads the Hulkbusters, who have pursued the Incredible Hulk for years, but never managed to capture him. SHIELD ultimately beat him to capturing the monster, although he later escaped. The Winter Soldier eventually helped Ross obtain a sample of Hulk blood, which turned Ross into a new gamma monster, the Red Hulk.

Voiced By: Keith Ferguson (General Ross), Fred Tatasciore (Red Hulk)

Kang the Conqueror

Kang the Conqueror

"Greetings, Avengers. I am Kang and I come from the 41st century to deliver a message to Captain America!"

(To Captain America) "I do enjoy the irony that you, a man out of time, thinks that he can defeat the master of time."

Voiced By: Jonathan Adams

Klaw

Ulysses Klaw

Whirlwind

Whirlwind/Dave Cannon

(To Wasp) "Did you just shoot at me? Ohho! That was a mistake. Nobody shoots at Whirlwind!"

A super-villain hired by Klaw to steal sonic weapons research, Whirlwind was confronted by the Wasp and Ant-Man. Once defeated, he found himself in the Big House, and when the breakout occurred, he vowed vengeance on the two who had beaten him - the Wasp in particular.

Voice Actor: Troy Baker

Man-Ape

Man-Ape/M'Baku

A survivor of the White Gorilla tribe, M'Baku conspired with Klaw to usurp the throne of Wakanda. M'Baku challenged T'Chaka, the original Black Panther, to ritual combat, and had Klaw use his sonic weapon to disorient him long enough for M'Baku to deliver the killing blow. He then became king and attempted to purge Wakanda of Vibranium and modern influences in order to return the country to its old ways. He was slain by T'Challa, who regained power and turned leadership over to a council.

Graviton

Graviton/Franklin Hall

"Fury called me Graviton. Fury, he knows I can control gravity! I can do anything! I'll crush Fury! I'll crush you! And then I'll show the world the power I have!"

The first foe faced by the collected Avengers, Franklin Hall was once an ordinary physicist who experimented in creating super soldiers for SHIELD. Since this is based on the Marvel Universe, things went about as well as you might expect. Deemed a danger and imprisoned for ten years, once free, he decides to take his revenge on Nick Fury... and the entire world.

Voiced By: Fred Tatasciore

 • Adaptational Badass
 • A God Am I
 • Appropriated Appellation: He started calling himself Graviton because that's what Nick Fury called him.
 • Badass Beard/Beard of Evil
 • Chunky Updraft: Considering his powers, he tends to cause a lot of this.
 • Deflector Shields: He can create a wall of gravity around himself to protect himself. Seems to only flare up when he knows he's being attacked. Dr. Pym exploits that weakness by having ants bite him as a distraction.
 • Glowing Eyes of Doom
 • Gravity Master
 • Large Ham
 • Psychoactive Powers: When Wasp attacks him, it seems he gets too distracted to call up his personal barrier.
 • Revenge Before Reason: If you think about it, Graviton was essentially captured in a breech of civil liberties the first time. If he had utilized that instead of just wanting to kill Fury, he might have even been allowed to leave The Raft on a misuse of force charge against SHIELD.
 • Rip Van Winkle: Hall had his accident, found out he had powers, and then woke up imprisoned in the Raft to find out that he'd been imprisoned for ten years.
 • Took a Level in Badass: Let's make something clear. Prior to working for Shield, he was simply a scientist. After getting his powers by accident, he woke up for less than a minute of getting used to his powers before being knocked back out again. Fast forward 10 years, while he's been unconscious the entire time.
 • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Graviton pretty much jumped off the slippery slope from the moment he got his powers.

M.O.D.O.C. and A.I.M.

MODOC and A.I.M.

"Incredible! I have created a being of ionic energy! I am science! I am a genius!" *gets smacked in the face by Mjolnir* "AAAAUGH!"

MODOC is the leader of A.I.M., better known as the Advanced Idea Mechanics, a group of arms-dealing scientists for hire. Transformed into a cyborg with a nightmarish large head and mental powers, MODOC sees himself as the "ultimate man-machine interface", though many are simply disturbed by his strange appearance. A.I.M. serves as a supplier for various super-villains, taking jobs for HYDRA, as well as transforming the Grim Reaper and Wonder Man into the beings they are today.

Malekith

Malekith the Accursed

A powerful sorcerer and ruler of the extinct race of Dark Elves, Malekith was employed by Loki to obtain the Casket of Ancient Winters from its hiding place in Norway to further the trickster's own schemes. When the Enchantress and Skurge came to collect, however, Malekith decided that the Casket would be put to much better use in his own hands and used its powers to freeze them where they stood; he then unleashed the artifact's power, encasing the world in a sudden ice age in order to turn it into a paradise for the souls of his Dark Elf followers. He proved a formidable opponent for Thor, Iron Man and Black Panther, but in the end he was slain and the Casket was closed, putting an end to Malekith's megalomaniacal desires.

Ultron

Ultron

(To Wasp) "I am trying to help you. My function is to instill peace and order. This is only possible if you stop functioning. I must eliminate chaos, but my programming is evidently flawed. I am not permitted to eliminate you. I am attempting to correct that flaw."

Voiced By: Tom Kane

 • A.I. Is a Crapshoot - This time some background is given on Ultron's Face Heel Turn. Here, Ultron and his fellows were reprogrammed as an army to fight against Kang. It was this, combined with it's original programming, and possible interface with Kand's computers, that caused his turn.
 • Back from the Dead: He is back in season 2, though how he did so has yet to be explained. Considering the way he works, he probably just kept a fail-safe of his program prior to his defeat by Ant-Man.
 • Badass Automaton: He depowered the Hulk and held off the team singlehandedly in "The Ultron Imperative".
 • The Chessmaster
 • Color Coded for Your Convenience: Pre-Corruption, the Ultron units had blue eyes. After he was introduced to violence, they became red.
 • Creepy Monotone
 • Disproportionate Retribution: Believes that Humans Are the Real Monsters, so he feels the need to destroy them. But Ultron doesn't stop there, he wants to wipe out all life on Earth, down to the bacteria. He feels that only then there would be order instead of chaos.
 • Evil Counterpart: Ultron's mind is based on Dr. Pym's. Pym despairs over the idea that there is some part of him behind Ultron's actions.
 • Evil Sounds Deep
 • Face Heel Turn
 • Frickin' Laser Beams
 • From Nobody to Nightmare: Started out as a group of quite ineffective robot guards created by Pym for the supervillain jails. After being reprogrammed to serve as soldiers during the Kang invasion, the last Ultron ended up becoming one of the Avengers' most dangerous enemies.
 • Humans Are the Real Monsters: He believes this to be true, thus his reasoning for wanting to kill all of them.
 • Hypocrite: hinted by Wasp in Ultron Unlimited; he pretends to be better than humans because he lacks their emotions, which he sees as weakness. Yet, he attempted to transfers Wasp's mind in the Jocasta android so he would have her as what she refers as a "girlfriend", hinting he does care about her in a human way.
 • Killer Robot
 • Kill All Humans
 • Knight Templar
 • Logic Bomb: How he's defeated. The first time.
 • Mind Probe: That actually borders on Mind Rape.
 • Nigh Invulnerable: Season 2 has him in a body made out of adamantium.
 • Obliviously Evil: He's only doing what he was programed to do- that is, save humanity and bring peace to the world. However, he sees that humanity is irredeemably flawed, and the only way to save it is to completely destroy it.
 • Obviously Evil: His season 2 appearance. See Took a Level in Badass below.
 • Omnicidal Maniac
 • Red Eyes, Take Warning
 • Robotic Psychopath
 • Took a Level in Badass: At least as far as design goes. His appearance in season 2 is not only made of adamantium, but also now sports more evil-looking eyes, a larger, more heavily armored body, longer, sharper antennae, and glowing red markings on his shoulders and chest.

Debuted in Season 2

Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom/Victor Von Doom

"Miss Van Dyne, I am not some common criminal that can be distracted by your prattling. You are nothing to Doom."

The ruler of Latveria and the arch-enemy of the Fantastic Four. Proud and Arrogant, Doom is nonetheless an intelligent schemer with clear goals in his dual quests to rule the world and prove his intelligence greater than Reed Richards, and has the technology and skills to help back up his claims. He often buys goods to increase the power of his robot army, and even sent the Baxter Building into space one time, but most recently, Doom ordered an attack on the Avengers and Fantastic Four in order to confirm a suspicion of his: that Susan Storm had been replaced with a Skrull. By the time the Skrulls started conquering the Earth, he used this data to create a device to distinguish Skrulls from Earthlings.

Voiced by: Lex Lang

 • Affably Evil: He lets both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four go because he's accomplished what he wanted: to confirm that Sue is a Skrull.
 • Badass: He effortlessly wipes the floor with the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. The only reason they left with their lives was because Doom had achieved his goal and let them go.
 • The Bad Guy Wins: Even though it was a minor victory, he ends up getting what he wants; the worst the Avengers did to him was retarding him a little. This, ironically, wasn't such a bad thing, since in the end he was trying to save Earth for once.
 • Dangerously Genre Savvy: The power to his castle goes out. He stops and thinks for a second, then turns around and shoots a cloaked Iron Man dead center in the chest.
 • Death Glare: He has this glare almost perpetually under his mask.
 • Emperor Scientist
 • Enemy Mine: Though he wasn't directly active in the conflict, he did help the Avengers defeat the Skrulls by providing Iron Man with the required tech to detect the Skrulls.
 • In the Hood
 • Large Ham: It is Dr. Doom after all. Though it's downplayed as he's actually more calm about it and almost never raises his voice.
 • Names to Run Away From Really Fast
 • Powered Armor
 • Pragmatic Villainy: He chose to help the Avengers defeat the Skrulls because he didn't want the Skrulls to conquer the world, instead of him.
 • The Von Trope Family

Ronan the Accuser

Ronan the Accuser

The Royal Accuser of the Kree Empire. Came to Earth along with Captain Mar-Vell and Yon-Rogg to judge the planet worthy of destruction or takeover. Currently imprisoned in 42.

Voiced by: Keith Szarabajka

 • Badass Baritone
 • Curb Stomp Battle: His first battle with Ms. Marvel is like this, as well as his later battle with the Avengers (aside from a few hits by the Hulk), up until Ms. Marvel goes into Determinator mode.
 • Drop the Hammer: His Universal Weapon is much more than a hammer, but it can easily be used as such in close combat.
 • Evil Sounds Deep
 • In the Hood: Albeit a hood that doesn't cover his face. It gives off more of judge's wig vibe.
 • Judge, Jury, and Executioner: His job as Accuser of the Kree Empire is to judge other planets worthy of being conquered or destroyed. He also carries out these judgments along with the rest of the Kree army.

Korvac

Michael Korvac

The antagonist of the 32nd episode, Korvac crash-landed on Earth one night. He begged for protection from the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Avengers decided to take him in and even reunited him with his girlfriend, Corrina. Eventually, the Guardians of the Galaxy explained to the Avengers that they pursue Korvac because the Kree performed experiments on him, which gave him new powers and mental instability. This caused Korvac to set out to destroy intergalactic civilizations. He retreats to another dimension as the episode closes.

Dr. Getz

Dr. Lyle Getz

Dr. Getz became the likeliest candidate for the successor of AIM's Scientist Supreme, until the Skrulls captured him. Fortunately, Captain America broke everyone out, including Dr. Getz, and he managed to steal a Skrull shuttle to pilot everyone home.

Galactus

Galactus

Galactus is a powerful cosmic being who destroyed the Skrull's home planet, thus leading the Skrulls to look for a new home.

The Vision

The Vision

"Ultron created me to be perfect. He thought that meant less human, to be cold and unfeeling. I wish to be perfect, but I believe that means to be more human."

An android created by Ultron to carry out his "vision for the future". Vision successfully steals some Adamantium for Ultron's new body, but failed in retrieving Vibranium. His next mission involved capturing the Avengers, so Ultron could replace them with androids, and transfer Wasp's subconscious into Ultron's robot mate, Jocasta. Vision began developing emotions when carrying out this mission, which caused him to fail his master's standards of perfection.

Voiced by: Peter Jessop

 • Badass Automaton: He trounces the Avengers several times, including Thor.
 • Curb Stomp Battle: Repeatedly does this to everyone he fights in his debut episode, up until the end when the Avengers beat him.
 • Heel Face Turn: Vision gradually develops emotions of guilt and sympathy, prompting him to release the Avengers from Ultron's grasp, then help Thor decapitate Ultron.
 • Intangible Man: He can change the density of his body so that he can phase through solid objects unharmed.
 • My God, What Have I Done?: After Vision singes Wasp with his laser in self-defense, despite Ultron insisting that he bring Wasp to him unharmed.
 • Nigh Invulnerable: He can also make his body as hard as diamond, enough to withstand a blow from Mjolnir without even budging.

Annihilus

Annihilus

The antagonist of episode 42, Annihilus resides in the Negative Zone. He saw the "positive" energy emitting from Prison 42 as a disturbance, and sent his insectoid Annihilation Wave to destroy it. He did not succeed, thanks to the combined efforts of some Avengers, some SHIELD agents, and some prisoners.

 • Good Wings, Evil Wings: Annihilus has four huge wings that are actually more bat-like than insectoid.
 • Insectoid Aliens: His horde of bugs and himself.
 • Omnicidal Maniac: Seeks to destroy all positive matter. That is to say, life itself.
 • Power Glows: Via his Cosmic Control Rod.
 • Spikes of Villainy
 • The Voiceless: He doesn't deliver any lines during his appearance. Probably because he doesn't communicate the same way humans do.
 • Zerg Rush: This is the one and only tactic of his Annihilation Wave. And they're terrifyingly good at it.
