Portrayed by Edi Gathegi.

Brotherhood of Mutants

Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto

"There is no land of tolerance. There is no peace. Women and children, whole families, destroyed simply because they were born different. Well, after tonight, the world's powerful will be just like us...Our cause will be theirs."

Portrayed by Ian McKellen, Brett Morris, Bill Milner and Michael Fassbender.

The Hellfire Club

Sebastian Shaw

Portrayed by Kevin Bacon.

  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: Justified, as he was a former Nazi Scientist.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit
  • Beethoven Was an Alien Spy: Caused the Cuban Missile Crisis.
  • Big Bad: of First Class
  • Energy Absorption: Any energy, even bullets, is something he can fully absorb into his body, and it is implied that this is how he was able to retain a youthful body. However, retaining his youth is literally the least he can do with it, as he is capable of sending the energy right at someone or something. His absorption skills are potent enough to also absorb the entire explosive output equivalent to that of a nuclear bomb.
  • Evil Mentor: To Erik.
  • Faux Affably Evil
  • Mad Scientist: As Klaus Schmidt.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Attempted. He tries to manipulate the superpowers into increasingly aggressive actions (missiles in Turkey and Cuba), but generally has to resort to outright threats to get military personnel on both the US and Soviet sides to do what he wants.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste
  • Playing Both Sides: Plays at "advising" both US and Soviet officials.

Emma Frost

Portrayed by January Jones.

Azazel

Portrayed by Jason Flemyng.

Angel Salvadore/Angel

Portrayed by Zoe Kravitz.

  • Chekhov's Gunman: Sharp-eyed viewers might notice her in the first strip club scene as the only black stripper there.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Sort of. When she defected and witnessed Shaw's brutal murder of Darwin, she was briefly shown to be shocked and somewhat disturbed at what he did.
  • Face Heel Turn
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: She was sick and tired of the CIA grunts mocking her and her teammates for her being a mutant (enough to say that even men gawking at her in her former job at a strip club was actually better than this), so she figured that she might as well defect to the Hellfire Club, since at least they had some respect for her mutant abilities.
  • Stripperiffic: Her outfit. Justified, as she used to work as a stripper prior to joining the X-men, and she needs her back open to use her wings.
  • Winged Humanoid: Her most obvious mutation is insectoid wings, though she's able to disguise them as tattoos.

Janos Quested/Riptide

Portrayed by Alex Gonzalez.

Humans

Moira McTaggart

Portrayed by Olivia Williams & Rose Byrne.

  • Badass Normal
  • Dirty Harriet: Poses as a call girl to infiltrate a Hellfire Club meeting.
  • Race Lift: She's Scottish in the comics but American in First Class What makes this weird is that she was Scottish in The Last Stand.

Senator Robert Kelly

Portrayed by Bruce Davison.

The Man in Black

Portrayed by Oliver Platt
