"SHUT THE FUCK UP SOME OF US HAVE A FUCKING HANGOVER, ALRIGHT?!" —RPD

Resident Evil Roleplaying is a rather trope-heavy Alternate Universe Resident Evil RP group found on Tumblr. It should be noted that there are Resident Evil: Revelations spoilers being posted there on a regular basis.

Due to how there have been roleplayers who've left and their characters got reset, the plotline summary is being rewritten. The tropes relating to the characters who have been now taken out of the story be reset, since the roleplayers in question may not go with the different interpretations of the character.

The plotline:

The main storyline starts out in August. Wesker is searching for more viral samples and has recruited the Wolfpack to help him. Several BSAA members get involved in the story (though it should be noted that Chris and Jill, despite being two of the main characters in the main series, have avoided most of this conflict). Parker ends up switching sides due to a deal.

Meanwhile, RPD, a sentient bipedal chain-smoking alcoholic licker, had recently been released from testing and is now being used as a weapon, being sent on missions. He and HUNK are sent off to a tanker (in is what is dubbed "The Tanker incident") to retrieve a viral sample. Parker ends up getting sent in as backup, along with Lupo, but Lupo leaves early due to her orders. After they end up in the hospital, it's revealed that RPD had a mind control device placed on him. Parker and HUNK (the latter weakened due to a gunshot wound that ends up getting reopened) get the device off of him. They then do some digging and it's revealed that Umbrella is planning on using that sort of technology on other BOWs to form an army.

In November, Parker and HUNK get sent in to deal with Theta-Med, a rival pharmaceutical company. During the course of the incident, both end up hallucinating due to a serum both of them received and Parker ends up infected with the T-Abyss Virus.

Due to a one-night stand, Excella is revealed to have become pregnant with Wesker's children (fraternal twins). Her character arc includes how she's adjusting to what's going on.

Leon ends up in a fight with Lupo. During it, she poisons him with a rare poison that requires one to constantly keep one's heart rate up, otherwise one will die. It is then later revealed that Claire is pregnant with his child.

Alfred ends up revealing that he's placed cameras everywhere. This causes everyone to panic, because Alfred put any footage of sexual acts up on the internet for people to watch. This ends up resulting in a fight between Sergei and Nicholai, who were involved with one another. Parker ends up mutating into an Oozelike creature. Raymond and Charlotte end up taking care of him for the duration and Parker's subjected to several. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Harold spend their time getting to know one another.

RPD is still working directly for Wesker, given stabilizing shots for his mutation when he completes a mission. He's mutating slowly and worried that he's going to lose his mind.

Alex Wesker, Jake Mueller, and Sherry Birkin end up involved with the main storyline, along with Jessica Sherawat. Alex spends their time probing around, trying to get RPD to join their side with promises of a cure. They also offer HUNK a position as a mercenary, despite how little they would pay HUNK when compared to Umbrella. Jessica generally angers people, especially Jill, Raymond, and Parker, due to the events of Revelations.

RPD ends up running around the city, his mask off so everyone can see he's a Licker, while in full uniform. Eventually, Wesker catches up to him and captures him, subjecting him to procedures that make RPD mutate into a mindless monster that is described as being like a cross between a Licker and a Tyrant.

• Aborted Arc: Due to many people leaving the group, there've been some major changes.
• Abomination Accusation Attack: Keith to Bertha, but he quickly recants after seeing her face.
• Acting for Two:
  • The Parker roleplayer is also the Veltro roleplayer.
  • The Excella roleplayer is also the Nicholai roleplayer.
  • The Jake roleplayer is also the Party Girl roleplayer.
  • The Charlotte roleplayer is also the Raymond roleplayer.
  • The Wesker roleplayer is also the Harold roleplayer.
• Action Dress Rip: Bertha
• Action Girl: Jill, Rachel, Sherry, Lenoire...
• Actor Allusion: There are references to other characters the roleplayers has played in the past/is currently playing [even in other groups] or the players themselves.
• A Date with Rosie Palms: HUNK.
• A Day in the Limelight: The Wolfpack, Parker, HUNK, Forest, and Rebecca are not main characters in the series by any means, but they're more of the main characters than some of the main characters.
• Adult Fear: So many times.
  • Including Rebecca having a man break into her home and steal her underwear.

• A Father to His Men: O'Brian and Lupo.
• Affectionate Nickname: (For the sake of brevity, the character is listed, then all the nicknames they've gotten.)

• The Alcoholic: RPD. Parker has shades of this.
• All There in the Manual: This shows up on occasion, due to details that aren't terribly important or would squick people out being left out for simplicity's sake.
• Alternate Universe: The only way to explain Umbrella still around after Resident Evil 5, how only a few of the characters know about very famous events, Raccoon City still being around, all of the ages of the characters being off (28 year old Four Eyes and Party Girl, but Raymond, Parker, and Wesker have aged normally, for example)...
• A Match Made in Stockholm: Four Eyes and Parker first meet when she's his guard when he's the Wolfpack's prisoner. They end up together for a time.
• Ambiguous Situation:
  • HUNK and Parker's mission in a Theta-Med facility. What's real and what's hallucination can occasionally be hard to tell. Other times, it's rather obvious.
  • Whether or not Claire is pregnant. At first.
• Am I Just a Toy to You?: Claire to Leon in response to a comment he made during intimacy.
• Anachronism Stew: STARS and Umbrella still existing as of 2009-2011 (?), people not remembering major bioterror incidents that should remember, character ages being off...
• An Axe to Grind: Parker
• The Anons Made Me Do It!: Occurs frequently whenever the players play games like Truth or Dare or ask for anonymous questions. Invoked word-for-word by Bertha when she was dared to lick Keith.
• Anti-Hero: As time goes by, the heroes of the series start veering into this.
• Anti-Villain: The Wolfpack and RPD.
• Arc Welding: Occasionally
• Artistic License: Biology: Alexa is only one month into her pregnancy and the baby's started kicking. This is hand-waved by saying the pregnancy is developing two months ahead of schedule so it's technically three months along. Babies don't start kicking until mid-way through the fifth or sixth month. (The only reason this is being kept is because it's so damn strange.)
• Asexuality: HUNK. Does not stop the Anons from insinuating other things...
• Ask a Stupid Question: Much of the cast does this from time to time.
• Back from the Dead: Forest Speyer, Veltro, Excella Gionne, Rachael and Albert Wesker.

• Bigger Is Better in Bed: It is normally a non-issue, because other characters having sex don't mention any specific sizes, though there's at least one or two references Excella makes to Wesker being on the larger side, because the condoms Charlotte was handing out for Valentine's Day were "too small," and Alfred mentioned that Parker is "well-endowed."
• The Big Bad Shuffle: Albert Wesker, Alex Wesker, and Veltro. Maybe.
• Big No: HUNK once.
• Bilingual Backfire: RPD knows Italian, so he understands what Parker says. This ends up a problem, because he understands what "ora" means. ("Now.") HUNK and Parker were getting ready to rip the mind control device off of RPD.
• Bilingual Dialogue: Beltway lapses into Spanish, Four Eyes into Japanese, Lupo into French, Sergei into Russian, Bertha into German, Rachel into Swedish, and Parker, Excella, and Charlotte into Italian.
• Bi the Way: Some of the characters. Depending on the Writer, the focus given to it and when it is focused on varies. To wit:

  • Due to roleplayers changing, certain things are reset, to be fair to the newer players that come along.
• Can't Have Sex Ever: Excella cockblocking Parker for a period of time.
• Can't Hold His Liquor: Parker seems to be an odd case. He became an alcoholic after the Terragrigia Panic in-canon. Justified in that he gets infected with the t-Abyss virus during the Theta-Med thread. Alcohol is a diuretic and those infected with the t-Abyss virus have a different water balance than normal humans...
• Carpet of Virility: Parker as Type 2. He's described as being like a big, cuddly teddy bear. By HUNK.
• Cat Fight: The group seems prone to having these. The men in the group always watch in amusement.

• Character Development: Many of the characters undergo this due to the events of the story.
• Chekhov's Boomerang: The architecture of Wesker's facility.
• Chekhov's Gun:
  • RPD's mind control headband.
  • Parker's BSAA radio transmitter.

• Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Wesker, as per Canon.
• Click. "Hello.": How Lupo is introduced.
• Combat Medic: Bertha
• Comedic Sociopathy: Bertha's views on torture.
• Continuity Drift: Wesker being able to take the form of a small child does not happen anymore, for the obvious reasons.
• Continuity Lock Out: Averted with the rules. All plotlines have to make a good amount of sense. There's also a plotline page, which is a general summary of what happens to the characters. There's also the chance that there will be a timeline page at some point.
• Continuity Nod: Depending on the Writer, naturally. Some writers throw in quite a few references, while others keep it to a minimum. This includes both nods to the roleplay storyline and nods to the games.
• Continuity Reboot: This plotline is actually the result of one.
• Cooldown Hug: Quint gives Keith one of these after he fights with and tries to attack someone.
• Cosmic Plaything: Most of the cast. (It is lampshaded often by Billy)
• Cough-Snark-Cough: Parker saying anything about Chris being on steroids.
• Crosscast Role: HUNK, Jake, Parker, Nicholai, Chris, Leon, Quint, Sergei, Wesker, Harold, and Il Veltro are all played by women.
• Cry Into Chest: Parker does this with HUNK. He just hallucinated that Four Eyes was dead and didn't know it was a hallucination.
• Cuddle Bug/No Sense of Personal Space: Parker
• Curb Stomp Battle: Wesker versus RPD. Wesker wins.
  • Wesker versus anyone.
• Curiosity Is a Crapshoot: Mostly negative or neutral.
• Dangerous Deserter: Parker.
• Dark Action Girl: Lupo, Four Eyes, Bertha, Jessica...
• Dark Is Not Evil: RPD and several of the Wolfpack have shades of this.
• The Dead Have Names
• Deadpan Snarker: RPD, among others
• Deal with the Devil: Anyone who makes a deal with Wesker has this issue in a non-supernatural version of this trope.
• Death Is Cheap: What with all the viruses that can bring back the dead.
• Deliver Us From Evil: Excella.
• Dented Iron: RPD, Parker, Leon, and Lupo.
• Depending on the Writer: Due to how it has multiple authors, quality and style vary quite a lot.
  • There are also some instances of different people playing the same character, changing their interpretation in certain ways.
  • Horror, action, romance, comedy, drama, or a mix of some? Depends on the writer, too.
  • The style of roleplaying: Script, in the tags, or story?
  • Length of the posts: One line, a few, a paragraph or two, or half a page? Depends both on the writer and the thread.
  • And the emphasis on the Myth Arcs of the story in the roleplays. Certain characters are heavily involved (such as HUNK, RPD, Parker, Excella, and Wesker), while others are less so (such as Brad, Keith, and Nemesis).
• Destructive Savior: Wesker thinking of himself as a savior, while him and his subordinates causing quite a bit of destruction, would fall under this.
• Destructo-Nookie: Bertha and Keith
• Did Not Do the Research: In-story example: Wesker either does not know or does not care about the Geneva Convention at all.
  • OOC examples include when roleplayers goof on details such as halter tops having arm straps.
• Did They or Didn't They?: Sometimes shows up. Some of the roleplayers keep it ambiguous.
• Ditzy Genius: Quint
• The Dog Bites Back: The story is headed in this direction...
• Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: Rachel warns Hunnigan of this when the latter threatens to kill Parker, Chris, Lupo, and Keith, all of whom are professional soldiers.
• Don't You Dare Pity Me!: How HUNK feels about Quint talking to him out of pity.
• Double Standard Rape (Sci Fi): Excella finds Nemesis violating Parker with his tentacles funny. Parker doesn't appreciate it.
• The Dragon: Lupo
• Dramatic Ellipsis: Show up from time to time. Forest in particular tends to use them often.
• Dramatic Irony: A lot of stuff that happens has shades of this. Part of this encompasses avoiding metagaming.
• Drinking Game: Occasionally shows up in RP.
• Drinking on Duty: Several members of the Wolfpack. Lupo, naturally, does not approve of this.
• Drink Order:
  • Wesker prefers more sophisticated alcoholic drinks, such as various wines.
  • Rebecca prefers Whiskey.
  • Parker prefers beer.
  • RPD will drink Whiskey, Vodka, beer... Anything, really.
• Drowning Our Romantic Sorrows: Occasionally
• Early Installment Weirdness: Just ask about the plotline before the reboot.
  • Or early into the main storyline. Wesker turning into a small child at random is one of the more egregious examples.

• Evil Virtues: Several of the Anti Villains have things they will not do.
• Extremely Short Timespan: A plot thread with RPD, HUNK, Krauser, and Parker took almost two months to write. In the story's timeline, it takes up roughly a day and a half.
  • The plot thread involving HUNK and Parker has taken six months to write and it's still not done yet. It has taken up a few hours, in-story time. Maybe.
• Eye Scream: Forest lost his eyes to the crows.
• Eyes of Gold: Parker infected himself and this is one of the side effects.
• Face Heel Turn: Parker (though he's mutinous now).
• Fan Disservice: Shirtless Parker. It Makes Sense in Context
• Feed It a Bomb: An new BOW type described as a cross between a licker and an Ooze with extra arms and extremely thick armor is defeated in this manner. It then gets named a Dodongo.
• Femme Fatale: Bertha, Lupo, Ada
• Fighting for Survival: So much so that even characters that are normally villains in series end up involved. To whit...
  • Owl: Excella, since she has a plan involving how to kill Wesker.
  • Hippo: Sergei Vladimir, since he is one of the people that could take Wesker head-on in a fight and not die instantly.
    • Now, thanks to Charlotte, Veltro also falls under this category.
  • Wolf: Lupo. Her codename is hilariously coincidental, given that she's the Wolfpack's leader, Lupo means Wolf in several Romantic languages, and she fits the description of a Wolf.
  • Mockingbird: RPD, because that's how he is.
  • Beaten Dog: Pretty much everyone working for Umbrella who has turned against Wesker.
  • Platypus: Any character that falls under multiple descriptions above.
• Fingore: Parker ends up jamming a grenade in a BOW's mouth. In the process, its' teeth ripped up his hand badly enough to require stitches.
• First-Name Basis: Excella is the only one to call Wesker by his first name, Albert, and Excella is the only ones who calls Four Eyes by her given name, Christine.
• Flash Back: Many, including:
  • The members of Spec-Ops have been doing flashback roleplays recently.
  • Tweed and Rebecca in Raccoon City.
  • Wesker and Charlie meeting before Charlie joined the BSAA.
  • A strange example is any thread that lasts longer than a day or two. It technically all becomes a flashback after a week, due to how the story is written in real time, where a normal day passing equals a day in-game.
• Foe Yay:
  • Lupo/Chris
  • HUNK having a crush on Quint
  • Keith/Bertha
• Foreign Cuss Word
• Foreign Language Tirade: Excella
• Forgets to Eat: Four Eyes.
• For Science!: Four Eyes' modus operandi.
• The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Sergei alludes to it at one point, likening himself to War and Wesker to Pestilence, wondering who Famine and Death are.
• Fourth Wall Mail Slot: The anons asking the characters things function as this sometimes. It also affects the characters in-story. Including the whole mess involving Alfred putting footage up on porn sites of characters who'd had sex.
• Friendly Enemy: HUNK, Lupo, Parker, Norman, RPD, and other characters display this trait.
• Full-Body Disguise: Parker ends up dressing in a werewolf costume to sneak into the opposite side's base and talk to one of their commanders.
• Funetik Aksent: Bertha and Forest's roleplayers write with German and Southern accents respectively.
• Gas Mask Mooks: Many times.
• Genre Roulette: On any given day, there can be comedy, drama, horror, action, romance, or a mixture.
• Genre Savvy:
  • Excella knows that Law of Inverse Fertility applies in this story's universe.
  • HUNK knows to not split up.
• Gentleman and a Scholar/Cultured Warrior: Parker. Between the Divine Comedy quotes on occasion, fondness for opera, and multiple literary allusions, the politeness, and the fighting, he's somehow a mix of these two tropes.
  • Raymond also falls under this, due to his fondness for opera and books.
• German Dialects: Bertha's roleplayer uses a generic German Accent.
• Germanic Efficiency: Bertha
• Get Back in the Closet: Averted. Some people outside of the group took issue with Raymond/Parker. Both the Raymond and Parker roleplayers responded to the questions and then continued writing the pairing anyway. They still get a few bothersome anons, but they are normally dealt with quickly.
• Get Your Mind Out of the Gutter: Excella says this at one point.
• Girl-On-Girl Is Hot: The general consensus on the Femslash pairings, particularly amongst the Anons.
• Glamour Failure: Wesker's red eyes.
• Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: RPD
• Goofy Print Underwear: Parker has boxers with pink duckies on them.
• Gratuitous Foreign Language: A lot of people are able to speak foreign languages. Especially Italian
• Graying Morality
• The Guards Must Be Crazy:
  • Lampshaded by RPD after Joseph ends up in an Umbrella facility.
• Hallucinations:
  • Parker due to his infection. The hallucinations become more subtle and it's harder for him to tell what's real and what is fake (moreso than before) when he's injected with a Psycho Serum.
  • HUNK, due to a mix-up with the Super Serum that's being tested and the placebo.
• Hangover Sensitivity: See the first quote on this page. RPD may exemplify it and make it hilarious, but other characters have also had problems with this, including Wesker. Other times, it is never brought up.
• Happiness Is Mandatory: Whenever one character is upset, the others immediately jump on trying to cheer him or her up
• Healing Factor: The sentient infected characters. How well it works and if there are any side effects varies from character to character.
• Hearing Voices: The chains...
• Heartbroken Badass: HUNK, when finding out that Quint has a thing for Jessica.
• Heel Face Turn: RPD and HUNK, sort of.
  • Subverted when Wesker forces RPD to stay, in order to control his mutation.
• Heroes Want Redheads: Parker
• He Who Fights Monsters
• Hidden Depths: HUNK loves sunflowers and has several cats.
• Horror Hunger: Raw meat of whatever/whoever is nearby, Mr. Luciani?
• Hot-Blooded: Chris and Parker both veer into it.
• Hot Scientist: Excella, Bertha, and Four Eyes.
• How Do I Used Tense: There are some issues over writing in past or present tense, which causes problems when attempting to read it.
  • Sometimes it is caused by drugs, alcohol, sleep deprivation, etc.
  • Other times, it's caused by lack of skill with the language.
• Huge Guy, Tiny Girl
• Hybrid Overkill Avoidance: RPD
• Identity Amnesia: Sherry, after being brought back from the dead. Subverted in that she was faking.
• Ignorance Is Bliss: How the other characters treat Alyssa.
• I'll Be in My Bunk: Parker tries to do so. Excella prevents it.
• Immune to Bullets: Wesker, for the most part.
• In and Out of Character
• Incompatible Orientation: Brad is gay and has a crush on Joseph. Joseph is completely straight.
• Indy Ploy: Umbrella sending HUNK and Parker to find out information on Theta-Med.
• In the Hood: Vector
• Insecurity Camera: When the guards in facilities fail to notice people sneaking in.
• In-Series Nickname: Lupo being called "Wolfmother," Jack Norman being called "Veltro," and Raymond being called "Cadet."
• Instant Bandages: Averted. When HUNK gets injured and is bleeding out on the floor, Parker ends up ripping up his own shirt to make into bandages.
• Invincible Villain: Wesker; A major problem many of the characters have is that they are trying to find a way to permanently kill him.
• In Vino Veritas: In both alcohol and muscle relaxant variations!

• Ironic Echo: "So, any idea what's going on?" (Doubles as a Shout-Out to the games.)
