The Forever Trilogy

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

The Forever Trilogy is a series of Pokémon Special fan fics by writer who originally went by the name "Ice Krystal" but now uses ["Lunnaire". It consists of Nevermore, Furthermore, and Forevermore, which collectively make up the Alpha Line. Forever and Ever is the Beta Line, and is technically part of the trilogy, though not one of the main three. There are even pages here for both Forever and Ever and Evermore.

In the future, there is a empire ruled by a man named Synis. It is illegal to be involved with Pokemon in any shape or form. All the regions are combined. The main characters are the children of the Pokedex Holders.

Nevermore: "In the future, being a Pokemon trainer is a disgrace. But with an evil unnamed organization rising, Topaz will have to rise up and be like her ancestors Red and Yellow and save the world. Even if it means becoming a criminal, breaking ridiculous laws."

Furthermore: "Topaz and co are recaptured by the Masked Man. When they manage to escape via a time machine, they find themselves in their proper time. But the Masked Man has followed them into the past. And he wants to speed things up. Will their families help them?"

Forevermore: "Synis has declared war on the rebels of Mount Silver. And he especially wants Topaz and her friends dead. The government's secret weapon is killing hundreds of trainers. The future looks bleak. Not to mention all the drama. Life was never easy for Topaz."

Topaz, the main character, is the daughter of Red and Yellow. Jade is the daughter of Silver and Green (female). Amethyst (aka Am), Gold Jr. (aka Goldy), and Fiori are the children of Gold and Crystal. Rubin and Sapphira (aka Sapph) are the children of Ruby and Sapphire. Plato is the son of Pearl and Platina. Grey is the son of Black and White.

Other characters are Diamonda, a descendant of Pearl and Platina, Viola, a descendant of Bugsy, Scarlet, a descendant of Red and Yellow, Cyan, a descendant of Blue (male), Jasper, a descendent of Diamond, and Esmeralda, a descendant of Emerald, Alizarin, a facility information gatherer, and Jewel the daughter of The Big Bad.

The Forever Trilogy is full of action, adventure, romance, humor, drama, and mysteries. You'll have to read to see!

Tropes used in The Forever Trilogy include:
  • Accidental Kiss: In Furthermore, Raiden and Lady get tired of the tease and take matters into their own hands by tackling Rubin and Topaz into eachother.
    • In Forevermore, Topaz is trying to heal a cut on Grey's face, and falls off a slab, and they accidentally kiss. And, well, Rubin sees it and takes it the wrong way.
  • The Ace: Am, duh.
    • Sometimes Grey
  • Action Duo: Fiori sticks to Grey when she comes in, it sort of just clicks from there.
  • Action Girl: Topaz, Sapph, Fiori, and Viola.
    • Let's add Indigo to the list.
    • Can't forget Perla.
  • Action Girlfriend: Topaz is Rubin's. ...Well... um... not anymore...
    • Sapph is Gold's.
  • Action Mom: Though she doesn't do it much, Diamonda's pretty kickass compared to most trainers.
  • Action Hero: Topaz and Am
  • Adults Are Useless: The only adults in the trilogy are evil.
    • Except Tibbs, Professor Pine, Professor Willow, Delano, and Manny.
    • And, technically, Am, Fiori, Goldy, Grey, Shirou, and Alan are adults.
  • Aerith and Bob: No one notices that the main characters are named after colors, jewels, and metals.
    • Though Topaz, Jade, Sapphira, Scarlet, Diamonda, and Perla are considered girls' names.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Almost everyone has one from Goldy. Fiori also has several nicknames for Grey.
    • Fiori also gives one to Scarlet, but it's far from affectionate.
  • Agent Peacock: Rubin, ooooh, is it Rubin.
  • All Girls Like Ponies: Topaz and her My Little Ponyta
  • All Men Are Perverts: There are only a few exceptions to this, but the majority of the male character population fall under this in some way, shape, or form.
    • Goldy is the main example of this, being our own little Casanova, Chivalrous Pervert, but still the Jerk with a Heart of Gold [1]
    • Am became a Hot Dad after some action went on with Diamonda in Nevermore.
    • It's been hinted throughout the course of Forevermore that Grey is Cade's father, and this is later confirmed in Evermore.
      • However, unlike Am and Diamonda, the mother is Pink, which goes against Canon.
      • This is not good.
    • Actually, if you look really closely, it's hinted that Plato has been kicked into this club with Jade now.

Jade: We were so busy we never had any time for anything intimate.

    • Remember Goldy? Yeah, he's just entered the line of suspects. Sapph's not good at hiding things.
  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: Mount Silver gets blown into two!
  • Alternate Self: The Alpha kids and the Beta kids.
    • This could also be considered Mirror Self if you think about it. Taken on what has been revealed so far about the Beta Line, the kids in that line are the complete opposites of how they are in the Alpha Line.
  • Alternate Timeline: As it turns out, the entire main trilogy is this, and the upcoming Forever and Ever is the "original" timeline.
    • Let's get things straightened out. Forever and Ever is the original timeline, in which all of the events of it lead up to thousands of years into the future, where Synis is known to have come from. In an unknown turn of events and for reasons unknown, Synis travels back in time and kidnaps the children of the pokedex holders, our heroes today. This, in turn, screws up time, splitting a branch from the original timeline (Forever and Ever), and creating an entirely new timeline that extends far into the future, and eventually leads up to the current time of that new branch, starting the story of the Forevermore Trilogy.
    • The timelines are respectively called the Alpha and Beta Lines. However, even though the Forever Trilogy is only a branch to the original timeline, it's dubbed "The Alpha Line" due to it being the main series and first published.
  • A Match Made in Stockholm: A majority of the pairings.
    • Though half of them technically met in a high school, their relationships were built in a warzone.
  • Ambadassador: Am becomes this to Unova.
    • Hence AMbadassador
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: GOLDY.
    • Cerise also fits this, and so does Crimson at times.
  • Anyone Can Die: This authoress says this, but so far only Tibbs and the OC Safaia are proof of this.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: The higher rank you are in the Resistance, it's only natural that your buttkicking skills are awesome.
  • Babies Ever After: We already know this due to the planned sequel.
  • Babies Make Everything Better: You can't hate baby Aqua, even though half of the process was screwed up.
    • Also, Viola now has a little sister, Hyacinth.
    • Not to mention Cadet, Pink's son. We still have to find out who his father is.
      • In Evermore, it's revealed that Grey's the father.
  • Badass: Am and Grey.
  • Badass Adorable: Raiden, that too cute shiny Pikachu.
    • Younger kids are starting to join the resistance.
    • Plus, Squirrel, Kitty, Jade and Pink's teams, half of Perla's team, and pretty much the rest of any pokemon considered "cute" in the resistance is this.
  • Badass Army: The resistance can kick serious ass.
    • Aaaaaand then we have the government.
  • Badass Bookworm: Viola is a genius, but she can kick butt, too.
    • Alizarin can join her in this.
  • Badass Bureaucrat: The entire government, in the worse way possible.
  • Badass Cape: Grey had one in the beginning of Furthermore.
  • Badass Crew: The whole gang is a perfect example.
    • Sadly, so is the government.
  • Badass Family: Amethyst, Fiori, and Gold are a few of the most powerful forces in the resistance. Hell, Am is THE most powerful figure in the resistance, and they're. All. Related.
    • Not to mention Synis didn't even bother to kidnap them because of the threat.
  • Badass in Charge: If anything, there isn't anyone that can be as Badass as Amethyst.
    • Unfortunately, Synis is also this.
    • Tibbs used to be this.
  • Bad Future: Yeah, this entire trilogy is basically that.
  • The Bad Guys Are Cops: The gang have had to battle peacekeepers (cops) before.
  • Battle Couple: Grey and Fiori.
  • Beat Them At Their Own Game: Government wants to drive pokemon out. Resistance uses pokemon. What do they do? Use pokemon.
  • Berserk Button: Everyone has one!
    • Calling Alizarin "Short" in anyway can get your intestines ripped out if he doesn't like you.
    • Whatever you do, don't mess with Crimson's family, or he will mess you up if not kill you.
  • Better as Friends: Grey and Topaz are besties! Well, not so much anymore.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Am has this.
    • Crimson has this... But he's the younger brother.
      • He really shows it off in chapter 21 of Forevermore.
    • Rubin tends to show this sometimes.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: In Furthermore, Topaz even called it this when she and Rubin had their first real kiss.
    • Then in Forevermore, Sapph and Goldy get Canon and do this.
    • Just check for the chapter titles being ship names and you're on the right track.
  • Big Eater: Sapph and Fiori, definitely.
  • Big Little Brother: Though not the youngest, Crimson is taller than both Topaz and Cerise by a lot. And of course he's stronger and more impressive.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Topaz/Diamonda, Sapph/Esmeralda/Indigo, and Jade/Jewel.
  • Blue Eyes: Rubin's are like sapphires, thanks Sapphire.
    • Navy has them as well.
  • Boarding School: The gang is sent to one in Furthermore.
  • Bounty Hunter: Kane and his crew.
  • Bouquet Toss: At Am and Diamonda's wedding, Rubin accidentally catches the bouquet.
  • Brilliant but Lazy: Fiori is a extremely powerful as a Pokemon trainer, but she hates doing anything.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Kind of Cyan and Jewel. Jewel is very much a potential Yamato Nadeshiko, and Cyan's pretty distant, but not exactly "angsty".
    • Also half-fits for Am and Diamonda. Diamonda is the other Yamato Nadeshiko, but instead of potential, she's already a perfect wife. Am is even more distant that Cyan, but again, he's not some angsty emo kid.
      • The guy's leading a freaking army here, how would you feel if some moody emo kid was leading your army?
  • Camp Straight: Rubin, but he's graduating.
  • Canon Discontinuity: Occasionally. Usually for the character's looks.
    • Originally, Gold's hair was dark blue, not black.
    • Same with Plato. Originally, he is described as having dark blue hair and orange eyes.
    • Perla's eyes were gold, not orange and her hair was black in Furthermore.
      • However, it has been stated that her hair has been dyed.
  • Can't Spit It Out: Rubin and Topaz in Furthermore.
  • Can't Stand Them Can't Live Without Them: Just ask Goldy and Sapph.
  • The Captain: Though technically the term is 'general', Topaz and Grey hold this rank.
    • Amethyst is the real captain.
  • Captain Obvious: Am even calls himself this!
  • Chase Scene: There are several of these in the course of the trilogy.
  • Chastity Couple: Rubin and Topaz, it gets on Jade's nerves, but it's cute.
  • The Chessmaster: Synis really does have everything planned out.
  • Childhood Friends: Most of the Pokedex holders' kids knew one other kid.
    • Mainly Am, Topaz, Fiori, and Goldy.
    • Rubin and Cerise grew up in Littleroot together.
    • We can't forget Topaz and Grey were best friends in Goldenrod.
    • Technically Jade, Plato, Viola, and Rubin count since they went to middle school and part of high school together.
    • There's also Perla, Argent, Heart, Dio, and Larimar.
    • Can't forget about Crim and Indi.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: There's Kate and Alan.
    • Kate has been silently crushing on him for years but he's oblivious to it.
    • However, in Evermore, it has been confirmed that they do end up together, as revealed by Carmine.
    • Argent and Perla as well.
      • Perla's completely oblivious, though.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Goldy also fits this.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Scarlet over Grey, for no real reason.
    • Well, now she's dead.
  • Clothing Damage: Practically everyone gets this.
  • Compressed Hair: Whenever Topaz masquerades as a boy.
  • Continuation: See Next Gen Fic.
  • Conqueror From the Future: Say what? Synis is from the FUTURE?
  • The Constant: While the rest of the world is raving without pokemon and freaking out about war and stuff, Unova has kept up the original system for thousands of years by basically separating themselves from them.
  • Cool Big Sis: Fiori.
    • Diamonda in Forevermore
    • Topaz, too, since Cerise and Crimson are her younger siblings.
  • Cool Old Guy: Tibbs and Professor Pine.
  • Cool People Rebel Against Authority: The entire Resistance.
  • Covert Pervert: To much of our surprise, Am.
  • Creepy Child: RAVEN, oh my gosh, is it Raven.
  • Crushing the Populace: Let's see, who's been victim of this? Floaroma Town, New Bark Town, Littleroot Town, Snowpoint City...
  • Cute Bruiser: Sapph, duh.
  • Cute Kitten: Fiori's Skitty.
    • Cerise's Persian, Skitty, and Purrloin.
  • Cute Shotaro Boy: Alizarin.
  • Darker and Edgier: More so in Forevermore than anything else.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Nearly all of the Pokedex holders' kids.
  • Dark Fic: This can mainly apply to Forevermore.
  • Dare to Be Badass: Everyone does this at the beginning of Nevermore.
  • Dark Action Girl: Karen and Pink both.
  • The Dark Chick: Karen and Pink both fit this. See above.
  • Delayed Ripple Effect: Jewel even being alive is proof of this.
    • Same with Alan.
    • Through her mother, Jewel is supposed to be a descendant of Goldy and Topaz, but according to the authoress, Jewel is a descendant of Lapis Lazuli, Rubin and Topaz's daughter. In the Beta Line, she is a descendant of Vanilla, Goldy and Topaz's youngest daughter.
    • Though it has not been revealed officially, Alan is supposed to be a descendant of Navy and Fiori.
  • Derailing Love Interests: Practically everyone can pass as this. It's quite annoying.
  • Did Not Get the Girl: Sorry Grey.
  • Did They or Didn't They?: Everyone wonders about Topaz, Grey, and Rubin.
  • Dope Slap: Alan to Shirou in chapter 21 of Forevermore.
  • The Dragon: Flax, or maybe Karen.
  • Dragon Rider: Topaz has a Aerodactyl, Rubin has a Altaria, Grey has a Dragonite, Plato has a Garchomp, Fiori has a Hydreigon, and both Cyan and Crimson each have a Charizard. Man, dragons are popular!
  • Deus Ex Machina: Celebi, whenever the heroes get in MAJOR trouble.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: People seem to hate Flax a lot more than they hate Synis
  • Duels Decide Everything: 'Cept nobody seems to like this anymore. Now let's go blow stuff up.
  • Dysfunctional Family: Gold and Crystal really screwed up with Am, Fiori, and Goldy.
    • The Rosso family could also fit, mainly due to the fact that both Topaz and Cerise are in love with Rubin, and poor Crimson is caught in the middle.
  • Dystopia
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: The gang can't sit back and watch the world destroy itself and expect flowers and rainbows, can they?
  • Elite Army: The whole Resistance is full of these.
  • The Emperor: President Synis rules the world.
  • The Empire: The combined country of the regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh.
    • This is also Unova's nickname for the Government's control over the regions.
  • Everyone Can See It: This fits Topaz and Rubin.
    • Can't forget Goldy and Sapph.
    • Not to mention Alizarin and Viola.
    • Now we can even add Crimson and Indigo to this.
  • Everythings Better With Bunnies: Diamonda's Buneary, which later evolves into a Lopunny.
    • Perla also has a Buneary.
  • Everything's Better with Penguins: Diamonda's Piplup, who later on evolves into a Prinplup, and then Empoleon.
    • Perla also has a Piplup.
  • Everything's Better with Plushies: Topaz has a Oshawott plushie.
  • The Evils of Free Will: The citizens of the Empire have been brainwashed for this very reason.
  • Eyes of Gold: Goldy, duh.
  • Fake Memories: Apparently every flashback the gang has had is false.
  • Fan Verse
  • Fatherly Scientist: Professor Pine.
  • The Fashionista: Rubin and Jade both fit this.
  • Fashions Never Change
  • Fingerless Gloves: Topaz has a pair.
  • First Kiss: There are several of these in the course of the trilogy.
  • First Love: Since... Grey is Topaz's, Topaz is Rubin's, Goldy is Sapph's, and Grey might even be Fiori's.
    • Rubin is Cerise's, apparently.
  • Five-Bad Band: Synis, Karen, Flax, Maroon, and Navy. Verdant and Pink aren't shown as much.
    • Well, Navy betrayed the Government, so he's out.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Goldy's the foolish one and Am's the responsible sibling.
    • Cerise and Topaz could qualify for this.
  • Flashback Nightmare: Topaz has several of these, and it is mentioned the others do as well.
  • Four-Girl Ensemble: Topaz, Jade, Sapph, and Diamonda.
    • Probably should switch out Diamonda with Fiori or Indigo, seeing as she isn't into the war as much as the others.
  • Four-Star Badass: When Topaz and Grey get promoted to general.
  • The Four Loves: They're all in here!
  • The Future
  • Generation Xerox: Oh so much.

    • Cerise comes up in Forevermore.
    • Perla is just the cutest.
  • Gentle Giant: Grey's GIGANTIC Dragonite.

  • Hitler's Time Travel Exemption Act: Synis goes back in time to kidnap all of the kids, and make them his admins, and nearly succeeds, but still screws up time in the process even though Gold Jr. and Am saves them. Even so, everything is screwed, the Alpha Line is formed. Yaaaaaayyy.
  • Hooker with a Heart of Gold: Sorry, Diamonda. But it is so true.
    • She seems to have grown out of this, thank Arceus.
  • Holding Hands: Rubin and Topaz do this a lot.
    • Well, not anymore...
  • Hopeless Suitor: Sorry, Grey. Topaz belongs to Rubin.
    • Let's add Cerise to the above.
  • Hopeless War: Topaz views the Revolution as this.
  • Hot-Blooded: CRIMSON.
    • SAPPHIRA
    • SCARLET
    • SAFAIA
    • Apparently Professor Willow was this when she was younger.
      • She still is a little bit.
    • Not to mention that the first three all have red eyes.
  • Hot Dad: Am could be considered this.
    • Don't forget the male Pokedex holders.
  • Hot Mom: Diamonda fits this perfectly.
    • Also, any of the female Pokedex holders.
  • Hurting Hero: Topaz is slowly becoming this.
  • Idiot Hero: Goldy. Seriously. Especially when it comes to girls, much to Sapph's chagrin in Forevermore.
    • Taken to an even greater level in Forever and Ever, where he actually is the The Hero instead of Topaz.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Grey.
    • Argent is also leaning towards this.
  • In the Blood: Everyone takes after one of their Pokedex holder parents.
  • In Their Own Image: Synis has nearly achieved this.

  • Kid Hero: Everyone!
    • Not anymore in Forevermore, everyone's an adult.
    • But a bunch of kids are joining in!
  • Kids Versus Adults: Nearly the entire resistance is made of of people younger than 20. The Government, if you take out the admins, you can pretty much assume they're all adults.
    • Okay, so the oldest we've got is Am, and he's 19.
  • Killer Rabbit: Raiden, Squirrel, and Kitty may be cute... but they are deadly. Very deadly.
  • Kuudere: Am is Type I.

  • Love Is in the Air
  • Love Makes You Dumb: Am and Diamonda are proof of this.
  • Love Triangle: Topaz has to choose between Grey and Rubin, and she does, good job, Rubin.
    • Officially add Topaz/Rubin/Cerise to the list, people.
  • Magikarp Power: Literally. Topaz catches a Magikarp, which later evolves into a Gyarados. Go Neptune!

    • Aqua has one silver, one blue.

  • Naughty Is Good: Goldy and Fiori, to a certain degree.
  • Next Gen Fic

    • Shirou's pretty chill, too.

    • Am and Grey kind of fit this, too.
  • Opposites Attract: Practically everyone!
  • Original Character: Practically every character.
  • Pair the Smart Ones: Viola and Alizarin and kinda fit this trope. They supposedly have some Belligerent Sexual Tension thing going on, but only because Rin has this weird, accidental mean way of talking to her.

  • Papa Wolf: Don't you DARE try to screw with Am's family.

  • Recursive Fanfiction
  • Relationship Upgrade: There are lots of these.
  • The Resistance: Heck, that's what the rebellion is called!
  • Rich Bitch: Diamonda in the beginning of Nevermore, she gets better, though. A little too far with Am, but all's cool after a while.
    • You can pretty much trash this trope for her in Forevermore.
  • Romantic False Lead: Grey is Topaz's.
    • Scarlet is Grey's.
  • Rule of Sexy: Jade and Diamonda always wears skirts, no matter what.
  • Rule of Three: Nevermore, Furthermore, and Forevermore.
    • Forevermore has three arcs: Redemption (1), Permanence (2), and Cessation (3).
    • Am, Grey, and Topaz are considered the Power Trio.
  • The Runaway: Topaz, Rubin, Plato, Jade, Viola, and Diamonda.
    • Am and Fiori also fit this.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Plato and Jade.
    • Shirou and Cerise may fit into this.
    • Can't forget Argent and Perla.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Shirou has one, and he never takes it off.
  • School Festival: OPTAE has one in Furthermore.
  • Screw Destiny: Nobody likes destiny.
    • Synis is actually the most appropriate for this trope. He comes from the future, and tries to set up a new one. He apparently doesn't like whatever destiny came to him the first time.
  • Second Act Breakup: Everybody hates Rubin for doing this to Topaz.
  • Second Love: Fiori is Grey's.
  • Sequel Series
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Nearly every chapter with Goldy and Sapph.
    • Sapph is trying to change this, but with Goldy, well...
      • Congrats, you have succeeded, Sapph! Goldy/Sapph is now canon!
    • Crimson has to say this sometimes about Indigo.
      • Crim even said this to Navy when Navy called Crim Indi's boyfriend.

Crimson: "SHE IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!"

  • She Will Come for Me: Rubin wasn't quite so sure in Furthermore.
  • Shipper on Deck: JADE. She supports all the canon relationships.
    • Jade even has a little notebook where she keeps all of her notes on the "shippings".
    • Fiori likes teasing Sapph and her little brother.
    • Cerise appears to support Rubin/Topaz, though she also appears to be in love with Rubin.
    • Crimson also supports Rubin/Topaz, saying Rubin is better than a pervert.
      • Not anymore.
        • He literally tries to kill him in chapter 21 of Forevermore.
  • Shounen Hair: Goldy, and probably Am, too.
  • Shut UP, Hannibal: Crimson really didn't like it when Rubin went on and on when he broke up with his sister.
  • "Shut Up" Kiss: Plato does to Jade when she's ranting in the holiday special.
  • Sibling Triangle: Looks like we've got Topaz/Rubin/Cerise going on. Poor Rubin.
    • It doesn't help that Topaz and Cerise only just recently found out they're related.
    • This might not be a issue anymore with Shirou on the scene.
  • Sociopathic Hero: The Government thinks they're doing the right thing.
    • Mainly Synis, not so sure about the others.
  • Spit Take: Rubin does this after Alan asks him this about him and Topaz...

Alan: "...You guys never had sex, right?"

Flax: "Aw, is little Topaz jealous? You're just mad that your little sister lost her virginity before you did."
Cerise: Wait, WHAT? HOLY-

  • Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: The Government has the people believing all trainers are insane criminals who want to take over the world.
  • You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry: Just ask Raiden, Topaz's shiny Pikachu with anger management issues.
    • Am also fits this trope.
    • Apparently Rubin has a really nasty temper, too. We have yet to see it.
      • This trope fits him really well. Quite literally, nobody likes him when he's angry, especially after that.
    • Crimson has anger issues too, as seen in Chapter 21.
  1. No pun intended.
