Fire Emblem Elibe/Characters/Sword of Seals

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

The sixth game in the Fire Emblem series, the first one in the Elibe time, the first one for the GBA, and the last one to not be released in the west.[1] The game is set twenty years before its prequel Blazing Sword, and as such features several characters from said game and even more relatives thereof. It features an even larger playable cast than Blazing Sword and was the first Fire Emblem to introduce the popular support conversations.

Main characters

Roy

Class: Lord

The son of Marquiss Eliwood of Pherae, he heads to Ostia, taking his sickly father's place, and finds himself embroiled in the upcoming conflict.

Marcus

"Nonsense! I may be old, but I shall not lose to the young ones yet!"
Marcus in a support conversation with Roy

Class: Paladin

A senior knight of Pherae.

Alan

Class: Cavalier

A young knight of Pherae recently given knighthood.

Lance

Class: Cavalier

A knight serving Pherae, but not from there by birth.

Wolt

Class: Archer

Roy's milk-brother and a soldier of Pherae. Also, the son of Rebecca from Blazing Sword.

Bors

"...I am a knight, and my loyalty is with you. As long as you need me, I shall always be there for you"
Bors in a support conversation with Lilina

Class: Knight

A member of the Armor Knights of Ostia, he was teaching Roy and the others in warfare when the conflict broke out.

Merlinus

"What... what impudence! Our army isn't so lenient that we would just take along some useless girl!"
Merlinus referring to Clarine

Class: Transporter

The man in charge of organizing the army's supplies and Roy's advisor.

Ellen

Class: Cleric

A priestess from Bern and a servant of Princess Guinevere.

Princess Guinevere of Bern

Class: Sage

The Princess of Bern, and King Zephiel's half-sister, she was heading to Ostia to try and find a way to end the war, when she was captured and rescued by Roy.

Roy (right before Guinevere's Awesome Moment of Crowning): "She must be beautiful beyond words. Even when I first saw her, I couldn't believe that such a beautiful woman could exist.

Dieck

Class: Mercenary

A leader of a band of Mercenaries hired by Marquiss Eliwood to serve Roy. Also was a gladiator in the past.

  • Badass
  • Big Brother Mentor: To Klein.
  • Big Fucking Sword: Starts with an Iron Blade and shows it in his artwork. While any character skilled enough with swords can use the "blade" weapons, Dieck is the only character (except maybe Perceval) able to use them effectively due to his high Constitution score.
  • [[Crutch Character]: Often considered a second Jeigan on Hard mode for how solid his bases are. His growths aren't great however, making him fall off by the middle of the game.
  • Expy: Of Ogma.
  • Jack of All Stats
  • Lightning Bruiser: Though his resistance could use some work, all his stats are very high, especially his HP.
    • Master of None: On Hard mode however, his growth rates aren't enough to be considered "good" by the standards needed for Hard mode.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene

Wade

Class: Fighter

One of the mercenaries under Dieck, he is from the Western Isles. Is a hot-head.

Lott

Class: Fighter

One of the mercenaries under Dieck, he is from the Western Isles. Is calm and cool.

Thany

Class: Pegasus Knight

A Pegasus Knight of Illa, as customary of their people, is a mercenary travelling the world to hone her skills, eventually falling in with Dieck. Also, the younger sister of Thite and Juno.

Chad

Class: Thief

A young man from a orphanage on the Lycia-Bern border, he has a strong dislike of Bern.

  • Fragile Speedster: He's a thief, so...
  • Revenge: For the Orphanage of Love where he lived in, which was destroyed by the Bern Army. Seen the most in his supports with Ellen, which force him to think twice about his feelings about the deal.
  • Three Amigos: With Lugh and Ray.

Lugh

Class: Mage

A childhood friend of Chad, and Ray's twin brother, he is the son of Nino from Blazing Sword.

Clarine

Class: Troubadour

The younger sister of Klein, she was captured by Marquiss Erik of Laus, but freed by Rutger. Also, the daughter of Pent and Louise from Blazing Sword.

Rutger

Class: Myrmidon

A mysterious swordsman who served as a mercenary for Erik, before switching sides to Roy.

  • Badass Long Hair
  • But Not Too Foreign: Half Bern, half Sacaean. His Bernese looks get him spared from the Bulgar Massacre, as the armies mistake him for a Bern citizen.
  • Expy: Of Nabarl; particularly notable in that he's the first ever playable outright Myrmidon,[2] the class effectively spawned by Nabarl's unusual-for-a-Mercenary build.
  • Fragile Speedster --> Glass Cannon: As with all Myrmidons and Swordmasters, though his hard mode bonuses and low standards of his game mean he's actually pretty middle of the road in durability.
  • Sole Survivor (From Bulgar.)

Saul

Class: Priest

A Priest of the Churhc of St. Elimine and a shameless flirt.

Saul: "Well, we certainly have an evil bishop here, now, don't we? (...) You disgrace God... You shall pay for that!"

Dorothy

Class: Archer

Saul's bodyguard and a servant of the Church.

Sue

Class: Nomad

The daughter of Rath from Blazing Sword and a member of the Kutolah Tribe of Sacae.

Shin

Gonzales

Class: Brigand

A bandit from the Western Isles, whose low intelligence leads him to be exploited by others.

Klein

The Archery General of Etruria. The older brother of Clarine and son of Pent and Louise.

Thite (Tate)

Class: Pegasus Knight

Leader of a band of Illian Pegasus Knights, currently under Klein. The middle-sister betwene Thany and Juno.

  • Action Girl
  • Blade on a Stick
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy—Non-romantic version. As seen in her supports with Zealot and Juno, Thite is very devoted to her older sister since she raised her and Thany, so she goes out of her way whenever she can to make sure she will be happy in her life.
  • Sugar and Ice Personality—This is the same girl who's red-faced and embarrassed at her little sister Thany's shows of affection, and yet personally arranged (and even cooked) for her older sister Juno's wedding.

Bartre

Class: Warrior

A powerful warrior from the Western Isles, searching for his daughter, Fir.

Lleu (Ray)

Class: Shaman

Lugh's twin brother, and a travelling shaman, learning more about Elder Magic. Is also the son of Nino from Blazing Sword.

Cath

Class: Thief

A thief with a disdain for nobillity and who travles around the continent, looking for a big score.

Miledy

Class: Wyvern Rider

Princess Guinevere's personal guard, and has Undying Loyalty towards her, even more then to Bern. Older sister of Zeiss, and former girlfriend of Gale.

Percival

Class: Paladin

The Knight General of Etruria. Initially forced to side with the rebels due to the king being held hostage, Percival joins Roy's forces upon learning the crown prince is still alive.

  • Knight in Shining Armor
  • Overrated and Underleveled: Averted. While the other Eturian generals are nowhere near the match for Bern's Wyvern Generals that a minor NPC believes them to be, even if trained, Percival is at base, and he actually has decent growths. This is an extreme rarity in the series.
  • Shoot the Dog: Unlike Douglas, is willing to potentially sacrifice his king's life if the prince remains.
  • The Stoic

Cecilia

Class: Valkyrie

The Mage General of Etruria. Helped teach Roy the basics of warfare in the tutorial.

One of the last few Divine Dragons left in Elibe. Despite looking like a little girl, she's older then she looks.

Hugh

Class: Mage

A mercenary Mage who when his payer leaves, joins up with Roy. Is the son of Canas from Blazing Sword and grandson of Niime.

"He's just like his father... He tries to be bad, but he can't deny his kind heart..."

Zeiss

Class: Wyvern Rider

A Dragon Knight of Bern under Gale, also the younger brother of Milady.

Douglas

Class: General

The Great General of Etruria. Forced to side with the rebellion to protect the life of his king. Unlike Percival, he does not immediately side against the rebels upon learning the crown prince is safe.

Niime

Class: Druid

An eldery scholar of dark magic from Illa, known as the "Hermit on the Mountain". Is the mother of Canas and grandmother of Hugh.

King Mordred of Etruria

  • Dude in Distress: Is held hostage by Bern at some point, to ensure the collaboration of his Generals (Percival, Cecilia, and Douglas).
  • Despair Event Horizon: The loss of his son Mildain was this for him. It made him so completely distraught that Roartz easily took control of the country behind his back.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Until Mildain's death, he was this. Most likely got better when Elphin revealed himself as Mildain and returned home after the war.

Advisor Roartz

Class: General

Arcard

Class: Paladin

  • Karma Houdini: Consider that he just runs away most of the time before his final appearance.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Pretty much all of his lines involve completely freaking out as the Lycian Alliance approaches him.

A dragon who survived The Scouring and spent the last millennia healing. He believes himself to be the last true dragon.

  • Dark-Skinned Redhead
  • Evil Redhead
  • Mr. Exposition: His purpose is to explain the story of The Scouring and then be a boss fight.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Refuses to accept that Arcadia, a land where humans and dragons live together in peace, exists. He persists in this view even if he fights Fae, not even noticing she's different from the rest of Roy's army.
  • Trickster
  • Zero Effort Boss: Will never move and has no ranged attacks, a weakness shared only by the very first boss (who only had one weak ranged attacker to deal with).

Idenn (Idoun)

Class: Demon Dragon

  1. until New Mystery, anyway
  2. While the class did technically exist in the Jugdral games as the Swordfighter class, it was a functional blend of Myrmidon and Mercenary, with both Hero and Swordmaster possible promoted classes
