Kazuya enrolled in the "Academy for Extradimensional Affairs and Genetics" to support the Pandoras in their cause, bound by the dying wish of his older sister Kazuha, a Pandora who passed away at the end of a fierce battle four years ago. After he learns the rumors about Satellizer's treatment of those who touch her, he cannot believe it and ignores the warnings of others to apologize to her for causing her first loss.
Forgot About His Powers/Power Incontinence: Because he cannot use his abilities on demand (and usually only manages to do it once the situation has escalated to maximum danger levels), he tends to get beaten up or put into tight situations that judicious use of his Freezing ability could solve immediately.
Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Slaps Ingrid in the face when she starts ranting about why rules and regulations must be followed.
Only Trustworthy Male: How Satellizer comes to view him, as he's the first guy who is allowed to get anywhere near her without getting his ass kicked because she truly believes he wouldn't try to hurt her. Thankfully for her, she's right.
This trope also was why he was initially attracted to Satellizer, since she resembled his big sister.
Supporting Protagonist: Despite being considered the main character, Satellizer gets the main focus and development of the story as The Heroine.
Useless Protagonist: Zig-zagged. Due in part to his Power Incontinence, he doesn't do a lot to actively change the flow of a fight at first, but if he can manage to get a Freezing field active, he can play a competent support role for as long as he can hold out.

Satellizer is a Sophomore Pandora-in-training whom is known as the strongest in the Sophomore year at the school Kazuya has recently transferred to. She was undefeated in the academy's carnival battles until Kazuya surprised her with a tear filled hug. She is referred to by the other students as The Heartless Witch and The Untouchable Queen, due to her anti social behavior and her reaction to being touched. Rumour has it that Satellizer has killed over 20 Pandora and Limiters who dared touch her, and that she does not have a Limiter because of her cruel treatment of them. Because of this, she seen as a violent psychopath and her fellow students are absolutely terrified of her. Her volt weapon is a blade-like weapon.
The Ace: Deconstructed -- Her ridiculous skills and rapid growth are seen as something monstrous, making the other Pandoras both envious and terrified of her.
Berserk Button: Being touched or threatening Kazuya Aoi; god help you if you do both. Once she is able to put her past with Louis to rest, she becomes significantly more OK with being touched, though she's still embarrassed by it.
Character Development: After making peace with her brother and forgiving him, she no longer reacts to human contact with homicidal-violence; rather, she becomes an absolutely adorableShrinking Violet who feels embarrasment rather than rage at being touched.
Clingy Jealous Girl: Rather understandable, since Kazuya is the first person in Genetics who's actually nice to her.
Determinator: One of her defining traits. Her refusal to lose makes her a very tough opponent to fight against. This even extends to eating contests and drinking contests. Not losing is Serious Business for Satellizer.
Expy: Satellizer bears a striking resemblance to Tomoyo Sakagami, who also wears glasses on occasion. Also her nickname as "The Untouchable Queen", and Tomoyo herself was untouchable when it came to fighting. Not to mention having one of the largest breast sizes amongst their peers.[1]
Shonen Upgrade: Every time her Determinator aspect kicks in so does this, making her one hell of an opponent. Her enemies at school are a little slow to realize that she keeps upgrading in power every time they try to "teach her a lesson" by beating her up.
Shrinking Violet: Sometimes becomes this when she's alone with Kazuya.
Spell My Name with an "S": Her last name is generally written as "el Bridget" (her full name is shown very briefly in the Title Sequence). However, an alternative spelling is "L. Bridgette".
Violently Protective Girlfriend: The last person who tried to take Kazuya? She stabbed them in the chest. And this was before they even became partners in the unofficial sense.
A transfer student visiting from a small town in Tibet. Kazuya helps her fight some thugs when she came to town looking for her soulmate. Simple and guileless, Lana has a strong sense of justice.
Characterization Marches On: In her debut, she speaks a lot about spirituality and the impure, negative "kunlun" of the city. However, this quickly vanishes into an average aggressive, clingy, second-place love interest role.
Clingy Jealous Girl: Still convinced to make Kazuya hers despite multiple warnings by Kaho and Arthur about his relationship with Sattelizer. She is also more than happy to go physical with him.
Older Than They Look: She may look and behave as though she is younger than Kazuya, but she is actually around the same age as Satellizer. In fact, she is the oldest student attending West Genetics.
Verbal Tic: Lana ends her sentences with "de arimasu," like many Chinese people in Japanese works.
Call a Rabbit a Smeerp: She also calls spirit/heart/mood "kunlun," almost to the point of SMURFING in some translations. She also refers to her Stigmata as "Tears of Kunlun." This goes away pretty quickly, though.
Kazuya's sempai and the pretty student body president of the Genetics academy. She was giving Kazuya a tour around the academy when they witness the confrontation between Satellizer and Ganessa. Chiffon is the first to warn Kazuya about how dangerous Satellizer is and attempts to dissuade him from approaching her for the sake of his own safety. She often seen with Ticy, the vice president. Despite her timid, polite demeanor, her position as president puts her at the top of the school rankings, being the best student in the third-year class. It's later revealed that she's the also the strongest Pandora of her generation, the only "Type Maria", and she is forced to bring that power to bear when Amelia Evans goes berserk, turns into a Nova form, and nearly wipes out the E-Pandora facility. Chiffon succeeds in stopping Amelia from self-destructing and killing all of the people present, but at the cost of her own life.
Broken Ace: Hinted at. Her conversation with Amelia indicates that she is fully aware of how cruel people can be to each other in pursuit of some loftier goal, and she displays a disturbing amount of cruelty when her hackles are raised and she's willing to use extreme force.
Ax Crazy: Beneath that sweet smile and cute demeanor is a savage monster. During her first year, she went wild at the Carnival, gleefully thinking how she didn't have to hold back and could fight and kill as much as she wanted. Ticy really saved her.
Breakout Character: Stars in the spin-off Freezing: First Chronicle, which details a short part of her freshman year at West Genetics.
Bullying a Dragon: A dragon can be friendly. Pissing it off still isn't a bright idea.
Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: While she does act goofy and cowardly at times, Chiffon is not to be trifled with when she decides to be serious. Her Badass credentials are supported by the fact that she's ranked first out of all the 3rd year students, and it's later stated she is actually the strongest out of the entire current generation of Pandoras. She is also the only Type-Maria Pandora amongst all of the Pandora, and has the power to match.
Dissonant Serenity: With a nickname like "The Unmatched Smiling Monster", it's a given.
Obfuscating Stupidity: A master of it. In chapter 57, she asked why people always call her "Monster" when she's "not that ugly", and generally projects an air of mild-mannered meekness or obliviousness.
One Woman Army: In her freshman fall Carnival, she defeated fifty Pandora without even getting hurt, earning 35,000 points total.
The Cynic: Her sweet and kind exterior is just that: an exterior. She has no romantic notions whatsover about how the world works, and is more than willing to throw all morality and compassion to the winds for the greater-good of protecting humanity as a whole. Even the seemingly cold and aloof Elizabeth Mably has a stronger connection to her humanity than Chiffon does.
Knight in Sour Armor: In the end, she's able to reconnect with her humanity. Both by pleading with Amelia and sacrificing herself to protect Satellizer and the others
Depraved Bisexual: In the First Chronicles spin off, she comes off this way when she gets rather aggressive with Ticy, though apparently she didn't mind once she got over Chiffon's initial Skinship Grope.
Eyes Always Shut: And when they crack open even a little, run. In Chapter 86, she opens them all the way to face a new form of Nova--revealing they're 'Type Maria' eyes.
Except for the one OVA where they open long enough just so she can start laughing her ass off.

Nice Girl: Until she's pushed too far, in which case the nice just goes and dies in a corner.
Sempai-Kohai: Chiffon takes this relationship very seriously. Even when opposing the rebellion she makes an effort to protect Satellizer and company. Then she starts ripping arms off.
Serial Escalation: In her first Carnival, where how well one does determines one's rank in class, she scored 35,000. After a few Carnivals passed, Elizabeth was the next closest with 6,300.
Sleepyhead: She is always sleeping since she heard it is good for your skin, and enrolled late at Genetics because she overslept.
Spell My Name with an "S": Scanlators originally spelled her name as "Shiffon", but according to Word of God it's spelled "Chiffon" after her favorite food (chiffon cake).
Villain Protagonist: Narrowly avoided. She adamantly chose to follow orders to the ignorance of any moral implications from the Chevalier's actions, but did die to save the rest of the Pandora.
The second-ranked strongest third-year student from the United Kingdom. Elizabeth is the leader of the third-years who maintain the Academy's hierarchy and punish those who break them. When she hears news of Miyabi's defeat at the hands of Satellizer early in the series, she orders Attia to take care of the matter, but was stopped by Chiffon who orders her to stop targeting Satellizer. She initially refuses to let go of the grudge, but ultimately abandons it after Satellizer helped them defeat the Nova Forms during their attack at West Genetics. Among other interests, her family also runs a cosmetics firm and a winery; a running gag has her offer items to other Pandoras at a corporate discount. She is also the past winner of the Pandora Queen beauty contest in the anime. Elizabeth, despite her seriousness, is one one of the most noble characters in the series as she cares about her fellow Pandoras and hates the injustices committed against them. However, her desire to do the right thing would nearly cost her life and her family's reputation after she tried to exposes the truth of the E-Pandora program. She survives both the electric torture she's put through and a brutal fight with Charles Bonaparte, but once the 11th Clash ends, she temporarily retires as a Pandora alongside her limiter, Andre.
The Ace: While the other Pandora's could barely stay alive against the Nova-possessed Pandoras, Elizabeth had very little trouble dealing with them.
Break the Cutie: In retaliation for her choosing Good in the To Be Lawful or Good, the E-Pandora executives torture her and use their influence to destroy her family's reputation and corporation.

Reasonable Authority Figure: Nowhere near Chiffon initially, but she does call the dogs off of Satellizer and publicly praises her for saving Cassie's life. Later, upon realizing the Seniors have acquired a reputation as blood thirsty, Lawful StupidKnight Templars she works to try and rehabilitate their image with what is quite possibly the most hilarious soccer game ever committed to print.
Shut UP, Hannibal: Charles asks her if she's happy about Andre's decision to push his Freezing and cause stigma corruption that nearly kills him. Her answer: "Of course not, bitch!!"
To Be Lawful or Good: Upon realizing how the E-Pandora are being sacrificed in a political game she chooses to be good and risk being charged with treason to tell her father so he could call out for an investigation of the E-Pandora project.
Took a Level In Kindness: And paid for it with her physical health, her family's reputation, and, quite possibly, her Limiter's eyesight.
What the Hell, Hero?: Slaps Chiffon and calls her out for choosing to follow the Chevalier instead of helping the victims of the Mark IV experiments.
Worf Had the Flu: The electric torture that the Chevalier put her through damaged her nerve endings, making it harder for her to use her Attack Drones at their full potential in her fight against Bonaparte.

Ticy is the third-ranked strongest third-year student. She hails from Finland and acts as Chiffon's assistant in the position of Student Council Vice-President. After Chiffon's death in the 11th Nova Clash, Ticy becomes ruthlessly focused on becoming the student council president in her memory.
Important Haircut: She cuts her hair to perfectly resemble Chiffon's, ribbon in hair included, after Chiffon's death.
Jerkass Facade: Develops one, appearing to be stoic and standoffish in public, to present herself as a serious and capable leader that can truly succeed Chiffon. In reality, she's still emotionally devastated by Chiffon's death, but will only reveal her emotions when she's by herself.
Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Arnett's red in Freezing: First Chronicle. Plays this role again once she becomes Student Council President.
Took a Level In Badass: At first she was known as "zero points", and was constantly bullied. By the time of one of her sophomore Carnivals, she holds 3rd rank at 2,200 points.
After the 11th Nova Clash, she defeats Arnett in a Curb Stomp Battle to determine which one of them will become the next president of the Student Council.
Worthy Opponent: To Arnett, who regards her in this light after the election battle.
And Your Little Dog, Too: Her beloved pet turtle, Tii, was held hostage by some Alpha Bitches until Ticy got some lewd photos of Chiffon. Sadly, they were too prideful to read the care instructions and ended up killing Tii.

The fourth-ranked strongest third-year student from Switzerland. She a proficient user of the Accel Turn technique, being able to move so quick that she can attack from behind while starting out in front, resulting in an afterimage. Her Accel Turn is unique, as she can use Double Accel without the lag between turns. Morrison is her Limiter.
Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red to Ticy's blue in Freezing: First Chronicleand in the main series proper, once she loses to Ticy in the Student Council President Election Battle.
The sixth-ranked strongest third-year student, hailing from Italy. Early in the series, she begins to manipulate the other third-year Pandoras to take out Satellizer under Elizabeth's orders, and later tricks Lana into fighting Satellizer, but was later stopped by Chiffon and Ticy's intervention. Though she is no longer allowed to take out Satellizer following the incident, she still plots elaborate schemes to humiliate Satellizer, though this becomes less important after Chiffon's death, at which point she encourages Arnett to take the position of Student Council President.
The seventh-ranked strongest third-year student from Germany. Her strong determination to punish those who break the Academy's rules stems from an incident that happened during her second year at the Academy where Marin Maxwell, a friend of hers, sacrificed herself to defeat a Nova. Believing that the disorder of the lower ranks was the cause for Marin's death, she will use all of her power to ensure that order in the Academy will be kept. It was only after her battle with Satellizer did she realize the truth behind Marin's death, and later breaks down into tears. She is a proficient user of the Tempest Turn technique.
A beautiful and flirty junior who gives herself the nickname The Liberator of Virtue. Miyabi partnered with three Limiters. She confidently requests Kazuya to become her fourth Limiter, and reacts aggressively when he refuses.
Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: In the anime, Chiffon manages to talk Satellizer down when she's about to thrust Nova Blood into Miyabi's chest. In the manhwa she fails, though apparently Miyabi survives.
One of the many rivals for Satellizer, this second year Pandora took advantage of her momentary distraction by Kazuya to defeat Satellizer in carnival. Very competitive and hot headed, the victory over Satellizer earns her Rank SS, which she wastes no time in bragging to Satellizer about. Her bolstered ego leads to a confrontation with Satellizer in which she is provoked far enough to enable Pandora mode. Her Limiter is Kazuya's classmate Arthur, whom she is apparently quite fond of. Her volt weapon appears to be a number of flail-like chains.
Jerkass -> Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Early on you may wonder why a Nice Guy like Arthur would want to be her Limiter. She's also one of the few who considers Satellizer a friend.
Kazuya's classmate and dorm neighbor. Arthur is a freshman Limiter partnered with Ganessa Roland, whom he describes as "A real lover, a babe, strong and sweet on me too". His devotion to Ganessa seems absolute, and he is the second person to warn Kazuya about Satellizer.
Kazuya's fellow Japanese classmate as well as the class president. She wastes no time upon meeting Kazuya to gossip about Satellizer and along with Arthur warns him against apologizing to her. She is shocked and amazed when she sees Kazuya grab Satellizer's arm in the cafeteria without any violent repercussions.
The physics teacher and training instructor at the Genetics academy. She is also one of the numbers, the four who helped bring an end to the 8th Nova class four years previously. She and Elize left the army to become instructors at the Genetics academy. She seems to have been quite close to Kazuya's older sister Kazuha when they fought the Nova together. Her volt weapon is a spear.
Adults Are Useless: As straight an example as they come. The 3rd Year students essentially wage an all-out against against a 2nd Year student and neither she or any other faculty member does anything about it.
The academy's medical officer and one of the numbers. Like Yumi, Elize left the army to become instructors at the Genetics academy, and the two appear to be close friends. Her volt weapons are duel daggers.
The principal of the Genetics academy. She welcomes Kazuya warmly due to his relation to Kazuha.
Adults Are Useless: Somewhat. Seems competent enough at her administrative duties, but she's as bad as the other adults when it comers to discipline and oversight.
Cassie Lockhart is one of the Pandoras received stigmas when she was eight years old from Kazuha Aoi. She has three of them and a compatibility rate 90%, whereas most others can boast maybe 20%. She fought Satellizer in the past and in the aftermath of that fight Cassie questions that she really wants to fight as Pandora.
The Ace: You wouldn't guess it from the way she acts on screen, but she's ranked among the top five Pandora in the world.
Broken Ace: For a different reason than Satellizer though. She was so incredibly skilled as a Pandora her family forced her into being one despite her wanting to do something other than fighting.
I Owe You My Life: To Satellizer and Lana. This leads her to side with them to protect the E-Pandoras for no other reason, even if it meant committing treason.
A fourth-year student and Chevalier at East Genetics and Cassie's best friend. She was one of the many Pandoras infected into Nova Form during the tenth Nova Clash at West Genetics until she was defeated by Chiffon. Her Volt Weapon is a drill lance. In the anime, she is an instructor at East Genetics and Cassie's teacher.

Known as the Immortal (不死身, Fushisha?), a Pandora from Genetics America (Known as US) who is capable of regenerating any part of her body. She is sometimes addressed as "Zombie Girl" (ゾンビ女, Zonbi Shōjo?) and "Undead" (アンデッド, Andeddo?) by Charles. She is one of the top five strongest third year Pandoras at Genetics worldwide being ranked second.
Badass: One of the five strongest Pandora in the world.
Hair-Trigger Temper: Is quick to anger from most any callous comments. She even gets pissed when some of the other top Chevaliers were insulting the E-Pandoras.
Healing Factor: Supposedly you can hit her as many times as you like and she'll still get up. Hence her nickname.
Superpower Lottery: She also has a defensive barrier thanks to her upgraded stigmas
What the Hell, Hero?: Calls out Elizabeth and co. for assisting the E-Pandoras, pointing out how the world was still under threat from the Nova and asking how they would take responsibility if Nova destroyed the world as a result of them acting against the Chevalier who, despite being morally bankrupt, are humanity's bastion against the Nova.

Adults Are Useless: She did slap and scold Louis when she found out about his horrendous abuse of Satellizer, but years later she unwittingly sets up a situation that allows him to do it again, saying that she should treat it like a phase. She was attempting to get him to let it go, but things don't turn out nearly as simple as she would have liked them to.
The Cavalry: He travels with the other Pandoras and Limiters to investigate Elizabeth's claims and help the Rebellion.
Crazy Jealous Guy: For most of his first appearance, but calms down once Satellizer fishes him out of the ocean after Holly tries to kill both him and herself.
Easily Forgiven/Thicker Than Water: Satellizer is willing to forgive, if not forget, all of the terrible things he has done to her after saving his life from Holly's failed double suicide gambit because of the fact that he is her brother--for better or worse.
Heel Realization: Finally has one after Satellizer saves both him and Holly from Holly's suicidal cliff-dive, realizing that he was basically the worst brother possible. By his next appearance, he's mellowed out considerably, and has gotten much closer to Holly.
Hypocrite: When he's younger He gets mad at some of his classmates for insulting Satellizer, saying that only he's allowed to do that.
Villainous Crush: When he first met Satellizer, he resented her because she was a Heroic Bastard who he didn't accept as a family member, and initially his molestation of her was him venting his hatred and desire for her to know her place. Somewhere down the line it mutated into a case of hatred crossed with lust.
Villainous Incest: It's never explicitly said that he indulged in this when he was younger, though it's suggested that he molested Satellizer to some degree, and he definitely physically abused her, but his intense and very disturbing fixation on her is a clear invocation of the trope.
A rival to Dr. Aoi who feels humans should take whatever means necessary in order to fight back against the Nova and their incursions into the human world.
Hidden Heart of Gold: As seen with We Have Reserves, she doesn't like using the E-Pandoras as tools, but won't openly promote that ideal, instead showing them her Ice Queen face during a pyre of Gina's things the E-Pandoras have to remember as they cannot give her a proper funeral.
Just Think of the Potential: Her excuse as she explains to Amelia that the E-Pandora project was just a facade to buy time for the Type Maria project
We Have Reserves: Subverted. It's clear that despite the fact she supports human experimentation, she is emotionally attached to her subjects and doesn't want any of them to die.
Kazuha and Kazuya's grandfather and he is the scientist that developed the Pandora process.
Jerkass Has a Point: He's mostly seen as a jerk to Scarlette when he refuses to approve her E-Pandora project. However, he explains himself by stating that the current protocol for producing Pandoras is costly but effective in terms of the quality of Pandoras produced, and it should not be the responsibility of the civilians they are trying to protect to take up the mantle and burden of becoming a Pandora.
Reasonable Authority Figure: His position as fighting against the E-Pandora project and being made in charge when said project not only fails but creates two Novas shows he is one such person.
Mark Spencer
Head of the Chevalier. A ruthless politician, Spencer will not allow anyone to interfere his goals.
Corrupt Politics Will Make You Forget: In the beginning, he enter politics to ensure the powerful and corrupt will never use and manipulate the weak for their gain. By the time of Freezing, he has become just as bad and even worse like the powerful corrupt.
Kick the Dog: Oh boy. He doesn't care about the feelings of Pandoras and just sees them as weapons whose only purpose is fight and die for the sake of humanity. He even uses torture, blackmail, fabricate scandals and purges against anyone who threatens his plans.
Morality Pet: Charles Bonaparte, his adopted daughter.
My God, What Have I Done?: He finally realizes when Gengo tells him it was his actions to eliminate the E-Pandoras to keep his position that lead Amelia to rebel and later becoming a Nova.
Well-Intentioned Extremist: He wants to protect humanity and the weak who can't defend themselves, even if means doing horrible things to the people he wants to project.
E-Pandora
The E Pandoras are a part of the E-Pandora Plan or E-Pandora Project (Eパンドラ計画) is the project to create Pandoras from those that are genetically ill-suited to become Pandoras, to fill the need for more Pandoras than can be produced through current selection processes prior to the 10th Nova Clash. "E" stands for "Evolution", so this is the "Evolution Pandora Project". It is revealed that none of these girls officially exist and so are completely disposable and nothing can be done.
Amelia Evans
An Evolution Pandora who is said to be "three times stronger" than other Pandoras. She can use Double Accel, but was easily defeated by Elizabeth. However, she has a very strong will and continues to fight even after she is beaten badly and given a concussion, a trait reminiscent of Satellizer. She was the first to try the Mark III medicine, which was a failure and almost killed her. It is revealed that she has a younger brother who is in a wheelchair.
Skunk Stripe: Has one red piece of hair in the middle of her forehead. After becoming a Nova form, and then being reverted to human shape by Chiffon's sacrifice, she loses it.
Came Back Wrong/Gone Horribly Right: She was given the MARK IV drug to increase support for the E-Pandora project and proved successful and well within expected parameters, including the part of her dying as a result. But then, by her desire to see her friends, she turned into a Nova and escaped.
Only One Name: The only Pandora who doesn't have a last name.

The most powerful Pandora of the 8th Nova Clash, the creator of the High End Skills, and Kazuya's older sister. She is said to have sacrificed herself at the Nova Clash to save her friends. Kazuha was special as much of her body was composed of Stigmata tissue, which allowed 20 Stigmata to be inserted into her body, but she was consumed by them and was in the process of turning into a Nova Form before her death. Because of this, the higher-ups started limiting the number of Stigmata a Pandora can have. Six of her Stigmata (known as the "Hero's Stigmata" according to Louis) have been inherited by Satellizer, three by Cassie, two by Charles, two by Julia, and one by Roxanne.
Ingrid's late friend. A second-year Pandora, she died fighting off a Nova to allow first-year students under her command to retreat. Her death was the cause of Ingrid's obsession with rules and hierarchy. Albert was her limiter.
The first Pandora, referred to as "The Mother of all Pandoras" and the "Holy Corpse," as all Stigmata used by other Pandoras and Limiters are actually fragments of her crystallized body. Her body is stored deep within West Genetics' underground chamber, the Ravensborne Nuclecheode, and was the main target of the Nova during the 10th Nova Clash.
The number one-ranked third-year student at Genetics UK, who looks similar in appearance to Satellizer except for her silver hair.
Alpha Bitch: She threw water on Satellizer, seeing her as competition for Louis' love that she will never earn.
Break the Cutie: Louis really did a number on her after she confessed her love for him.
Clingy Jealous Girl/Yandere: She throws water in Satellizer's face despite Louis being responsible for what she blamed Satellizer for. Then, she stabs Louis when he refuses to drop his obsession with his half-sister.
Cry Cute: Good grief, this young lady needs a MUCH deserved hug.
No Accounting for Taste/Masochism Tango: Despite her cool facade in front of Satellizer, and the horrific abuse she's put through, her affections for Louis are legitimate.
Stockholm Syndrome: To an extent. She is a Pandora to Louis under a fair amount of duress and knows full well what kind of asshole he can be, but regardless she seems to truly loves him and want the feeling reciprocated on some level.
