Villains

The Slender Man

The creature who started it all in the Mythos. An inhumanly tall and skinny figure apparently dressed in a black suit, whose face is either completely blank or appears different to anybody who sees it, depending on who you ask. His goals, and sometimes his methods, are shrouded in mystery, but he tends to leave a wake of madness, destruction, and death behind him.

Tropes

Big Bad: Since we're in a Villain Based Franchise, this is a given.
The Blank: More often than not portrayed like this, these days.
Blue and Orange Morality: It's difficult to tell if the Slender Man is even sapient, let alone capable of morality as humans see it.
Breakout Character: He began as a pair of photoshop manipulations with creepy captions. His legend has grown quite a bit since then.
By the Eyes of the Blind/Perception Filter: Often, it's impossible to perceive the Slender Man unless you're his target (or, alternately, have viewed a photograph, video, or other media in which he's been picked up).
Child Eater: Perhaps. Whatever he does with them, he's been very fond of children since his earliest appearances.
Combat Tentacles: The Slender Man is sometimes depicted with tentacles supplementing or replacing his arms.
Daylight Horror: Unlike some pansy boogeymen, the Slender Man isn't limited to stalking his prey at night. He could be standing outside your window right now, escaping your sight every time you look.
Eldritch Abomination: A fairly small-scale one, as abominations go, but that doesn't really help.
- Humanoid Abomination: Provides the trope page image, for starters.
The Fair Folk: One of the earliest stories of what Slendy may be; a malevolent fairy that lives in the forest and preys on naughty children.
The Kindnapper: Is often theorized to be kidnapping children who are about to die in accidents.
Lean and Mean: The leanest and the meanest you'll ever meet.
Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Some of the stories state that Slendy only goes multi-armed when he's about to go in for the kill. So basically, if you see him with more than 2 arms, you're screwed. See Combat Tentacles above.
Noodle People: The Slender Man's most prominent identifying characteristic.
Organ Borrowing And Haphazardly Replacing: Though this hasn't been picked up by the Mythos majority.
Playing with Fire: Places that have to do with Slendy tend to inexplicably go up in flames.
Spooky Photographs: Obviously.
The Bad Guy Wins: Frequently, if not entirely, as the closest you'll ever get to "defeating" the Slender Man is by boring him enough to leave.
Urban Legend: A deliberately manufactured attempt at one.
When Trees Attack: The Slender Man has been identified with trees on several occasions. Before the tulpa theory gained prominence, a popular concept was that he was some kind of Dryad.

Redlight

A mysterious figure who originated on White Elephants. He captured, tortured, and wiped Robert's memory clean of any knowledge about Slender Man. Then took over White Elephants to try to break the slendercommunity by taunting them with Robert's defeat, then flaunted how powerful his master is and that the bloggers need to learn their place.

Tropes

Bad Boss: Slender Man to him. Redlight once even stated that when people stand up to slim, he takes it out on his agents and proxies.
Bad Liar: No one really believed him when he said he could give anyone who wanted out of the Chase of Fight an easy way but considering what happened to Robert just about confirms what most already thought of him and promises.
Despair Event Horizon: Tried to enforce this on the bloggers to knuckle them "into their place". It doesn't generally work.
Dragon with an Agenda
Jerkass: No matter the interpretation, there is no denying this trope. He's a rude, nasty, superior, mocking, arrogant, dog kicking fellow who loves to pour salt in open wounds. He's done just about everything he can to make the slendercommunity wish a horrible Karmic Death on him.
Karma Houdini: Can be seen as this, since it is unlikely he will ever be made to answer for any of his actions.
- Until Robert stabbed a stake from the Bleeding Tree in him. It goes downhill for Redlight from there.
Kick the Dog: Robert being the dog.
Kick Them While They Are Down: Just about each and every word ever typed by him. Nessa, too. Just Nessa.
Hannibal Lecture: Every blog entry by him, ever.
Laser-Guided Amnesia: Is able to give people this concerning knowledge of ever being chased by Slender Man. His method is unknown.
- Only it turns out that people he "releases" from the Chase can become reintroduced to Slender Man all over again, as demonstrated by the latest entries of White Elephants, which means we may yet see a return of both Robert and Nessa. So yeah, that "easy way out" Redlight offered up doesn't even work that well.
- Considering who he might be, there's a precedent for being reintroduced.
Retirony: The day after he swore on AmalgamationSage's blog that he would never be found again due to a drop in possessable proxies, he was shot in the back by Cathy.
Sadistic Choice: LOVES these.
Superior Species: Seems to consider Slender Man to be this and thinks humans who try to rise against him are overstepping their bounds.
Xanatos Speed Chess: Oh Lord, has he been revealed to be a master of this...

The first Rika

A primary villain of A Hint of Serendipity.

Ax Crazy: Just about everything ever uttered by her is a promise of a horrible demise. She's also brutally attacked several slenderbloggers.
Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She's good at pretending to be nice and pleasant to get up close to people, but as Zero finds out the hard upon meeting her that it's just an act.
The Determinator: The evil variety, but yes. Heaven knows she needs to be.
The Dragon: To Slender Man.
Foe Yay: Invoked by Zero in one entry.
Hannibal Lecture: Attempted on more than one occasion in various Comment's Sections, but the fact that she's nowhere near intelligent enough to make an effective one is made abundantly clear leading to hilarious levels of Epic Fail.
Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Not so much on the sympathetic part, but she is definitely a second rate villain among the agents and proxies of the slendercommunity. Hell, one could argue she only exists to make one appreciate Redlight more.
Most Common Superpower
Psycho Supporter: Of Slender Man.
Troll: When not actively trying to kill Runners or people who have taken more offensive stances against Slender man, she's this on the Comments Sections of the slendercommunity.
Shut UP, Hannibal: Zero in one entry tells he to shut it before she even has a chance to post.
Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She only shows up a few times in the actual blog.

Author of the eleventh hour. She's the daughter of Cathy, the protagonist of Time to Talk and under the Slender Man's control. She's a devout believer in his cause and sees him as her daddy.

The Messenger/Justice

Acts as a messenger within the mythos, announcing deaths and ending blogs. Ends up becoming an Oracle for the Slender Man. From Don't Shoot The Messenger.

Anti-Villain: Doesn't do much except hack into blogs and announce their owners have died. He also has a sympathetic motive for working for Slender Man. Ultimately subverted
Blind Seer: As Justice.
The Cracker/Playful Hacker
Dark Messiah: As Justice.
Deadpan Snarker: Many of his comments.
Deal with the Devil: He works with the Slender Man so that his brother will be left alone. Later, when he becomes the Oracle he's told he has to pay a price; he gives up his sight.
Despair Event Horizon: Which causes him to become Justice.
Due to the Dead: ... Kind of.
Exact Words: "We will never again meet face to face." and "I am Oracle during your time."
Karma Houdini: He willingly chose to work for the Slender Man, and is punished with...a relatively normal life with flexible working hours in a job that doesn't require him to kill anyone. Then everyone he cares about dies. Then he gets promoted.
Klingon Promotion: Though the Slender Man himself kills the previous Oracle.
Meaningful Name: He eventually becomes the new Oracle; a messenger for Slender Man himself.
Meaningful Rename
Mouth of Sauron: As Justice. Arguably, his time as The Messenger was spend preparing him for the role.
Nice Job Breaking It Anti Villain: His attempts to help his love interest leaves her to become an Empty Shell.
Only Sane Man: Not only does he fit this role in his own blog, but he's one of the most mentally stable characters in the entire mythos. Especially considering who his employer is... Ultimately subverted; after hitting the Despair Event Horizon he's now the Mouth of Sauron.
Properly Paranoid: Exceptionally so, given the mythos. He was sent a series of tapes about his roommate Nee-chan. One of which was filmed from her room in their apartment.
"The Reason You Suck" Speech
Shoot the Shaggy Dog: His role in the mythos.
Stable Time Loop: Takes the identity of Justice after meeting his own future self.
Start of Darkness: The final events of his blog mark his transition from Anti-Villain Mook to Mouth of Sauron.
Stealth Mentee: The previous Oracle was subtly grooming him to take over his position.
That Man Is Dead: After becoming Justice, he feels this way to some extent about his past as Alan and The Messenger.
Trauma Conga Line: He loses everyone he cared about. This leads to his Despair Event Horizon...and a promotion.
The Hero Dies: And he tells you exactly how.
Token Good Teammate: He's not THAT much of a good guy, but compared to the likes of MorningStar, Cynthia, and, well, the Slender Man? Definitely. Subverted after he becomes Justice.

The main human antagonist of Drew's Box 'o' Stuff.

Ax Crazy: Yes.
Chessmaster: Pretty much had the situation in Boston handled. The only thing he overlooked was that Black Leaf underwent a Heel Face Turn when his friend, Clyde, was killed.
Corrupt Corporate Executive: Much like Conaghan before him, he was a successful businessman and landowner Slender Man made us of.
The Dragon: To Slender Man.
Hijacked by Ganon: He took over Black Leaf's blog after a while.
Karma Houdini: For a while.
- In fact, some consider his quick death to be this.

Albert Conaghan

A former businessman and the primary human antagonist during Seeking Truth's run. He ultimately perished the night of the Warehouse Fire, though the exact circumstances remain unknown.

Tropes

Evil Genius: One of the first proxies to show some degree of intelligence. He has shown that he is able to plan out elaborate traps to deliver the detectives into Slender Man's grasp.
Villain with Good Publicity: Unique in that he is a Complete Monster but in that his business dealings ultimately provide relief to a good portion of the world. Zeke himself states that to the rest of the world, he is a complete saint.
Villainous Breakdown: Conaghan remains calm, cool and collected, even when he is getting the ever-merciful crap beaten out of him by Zeke, until it is implied that he went psycho and repeatedly stabbed Lizzie to death.

Morningstar

Author of The Morning Hunter Characterized by a startling shift between horror, placidity, and Looney Tunes style violence.

- Was openly disdainful of Tom, the abusive-ex-boyfriend-turned-proxy of Kay, due to the fact that Tom was ham-handed and made a mockery of the art of inflicting pain.
- Called out the proxies who were celebrating upon the death of Reach, believing it to be disrespectful.
Evilly Affable
Evil, Inc.: Hard to believe an Eldritch Abomination has an entire organization filled with red tape at his disposal, even harder to believe Morningstar gets anything done with it as bureaucratic as it's been alluded to.
For the Evulz: His entire motivation.
Hannibal Lecture: Delivers these from time to time, although they are almost always shot down.
Heel Face Turn: Actually befriended Elaine, and even considered defecting during his lucid moments. Eventually he broke free of his Hallowing and went on the run with Elaine.
- Face Heel Turn: ...but after a couple more meetings with Slendy, he's back to being crazy.
Kick the Dog: Gleefully and often. "Flaming Baby Baseball" was a particularly gruesome example.
Killed Off for Real: Thanks to Michelle. Biting, as the events with Elaine proved there was still good within him.

We Have Reserves: His main strategy for pursuing a target is "throw proxies at it until it dies." Interestingly enough, Morningstar views himself to be just as expendable as those under his command, and uses this as his defense whenever he is called out on his Zerg Rush tactics.

Nee-chan

An upbeat lover of all things Japanese who seems to have a tenuous-at-best grasp on reality. Her real name is Erika Lyons, though she insists on "Nee-chan" or at least "Eri." A prominent character in Don't Shoot The Messenger.

Ax Crazy: Boy, howdy.
Expy: Invoked, in-universe as well—she's intentionally based much of her "Nee-chan" persona and appearance on Yuno Gasai.

Gratuitous Japanese: Often peppers her speech with basic Japanese words and phrases.

- Cosplay Otaku Girl: she's pretty much permanently cosplaying, partially because of the persona she's taken on.

Wren Stephanos

A former SWAT demolitions expert, he was a former partner of Zeke Strahm's and ultimately the secondary antagonist of The Mystic blog.

Complete Monster: He went completely insane and destroyed a building, killing everyone inside, good and bad, with no remorse.
You're Insane!: Although he mainly stays calm and collected, there are times where he shows how crazy he really is like breaking an agent's toes and lighting a proxy on fire with an air sol can and a lighter.
Old Friend: Wren knew Zeke back when he had just joined the police force. It's revealed later that Wren taught Zeke everything he knows about hand-to-hand and interrogation.

The Ace: Yes, a rare instance where the ace is a Non-Action Guy, since being The Ace in a Slender Man story is not about being a great fighter who can best any opponent (in fact, M outright discourages any thoughts of taking on slim in a straight on fight), but by being an intelligent, level-headed, and Genre Savvy person.
The Atoner: He has some shades of this.

Dr. Cairo

Proprietor of the "compileTRUTH" Youtube channel and blog. Has spent most of his time "compiling" other blogs and vlogs, creating summaries of important events in other stories. Despite the alias, it's well known that he's merely a college student.

Tropes

Arc Words: "truth seekers" and "TRUTH". In a few instances it's even been unnecessarily capitalized like that.
Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: One of his blogposts lists a number of things happening, including characters dieing, being chased by The Slender Man being apparently possessed and Cairo finding himself at a Poetry Slam with no memory of going there.
Continuity Lock Out: Seems to be trying to avert this on the entire mythos. Despite his efforts, his progress is not promising.
Crossover: A number of them:
- Two with the PTC. In the first he analyzed some footage for them regarding Father Paranoia. In the second he's spent more than a month in their custody while under suspicion of having been an agent of the Slender Man all along.
- MyDarkJournal uploaded a video that appeared to show Cairo acting as a proxy, complete with mask, raising further distrust in his followers.
- In LOG - New Jersey he met and spoke with Evan, youtube and twitter follower MrHellershanks and fellow stalkee Lucien Drage.
- In LOG - Florida and Vermont he questioned Noah about the Observer situation and published a message from Marcus Prendergast.
The Dragon: At one point, fearfulXbenefactor accused Cairo of being one for The Slender Man, tasked with flooding Youtube with videos to infect more people with the knowledge he exists. No proof has yet surfaced with this claim.
Dressed to Heal: As part of his doctor routine, he is often seen wearing a lab coat in his videos.
Genre Savvy: Considering how much "research" he's done on the other cases, it would be out of place for him not to be. He even suspects spyware on the disc Benefactor left for him after pointing out the same thing happening to Noah before, and attempts to have an computer expert trace it.
Hidden Villain: Benefactor claimed Cairo had been a willing agent of The Slender Man from the start and attempted to turn his followers against him. The jury is out on whether it worked. Even more so on if it's true or not.
Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Was present in the Angora Chat for the March 21st crossover-chat. He's also shown up in-character on the everymanHYBRID Ustream.
Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Only when you combine it with some major Fridge Logic. After both Josh and Alana died in "Angel's Game", Cairo discusses the case and mentions that he contacted both Josh and Austin back in January. He got a disturbing message back from Austin that hinted at his instability and possible possession. And he forgot to tell Josh or Alana before Austin went Ax Crazy on them. Whoops.
One of Us: One of the many mythos characters to reference/link to TV tropes.
Shout-Out: A great many, with varying degrees of subtlety.
- The music from the compilation videos is recognizable from a number of different soundtracks, with music thus far from:
  - Death Note
  - Bleach
  - Trigun
  - The X-Files
  - Inception
  - The Social Network
    - And the trailer music for Eden of the East in the Introduction video.
- His first story video features him building a mannequin that looks like V.

He also supported the idea of the bloggers getting more organized and trying to make information on how to survive being slenderstalked as available to newcomers as possible by advising everyone to make a post where they put down everythiing they know about Slender Man, themselves. - He also named another an amnesiac user who previous only had a titled give to him by Slender Man, Prey the 2nd. The name given is Pete, who Ron went on to play Big Brother Mentor to.

My Greatest Failure: A few. He views the loss of all his friends as such. He was also the blogger Slice from Live in the Light teamed up with for a while. The two got separated and Slice underwent Laser-Guided Amnesia and did not come out of it until after Ron was proxified.
