Fire Emblem/Characters/Seisen no Keifu
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
The fourth game in the Fire Emblem series, and the first part of the Jugdral canon.
1st Generation Playable Characters
Siglud of Chalphy (Sigurd)
The son and heir of Duke Vylon of Chalphy, left behind in Chalphy with a only small retinue of knights while the bulk of Grandbellian forces are off to war in Isaac. His departure to handle the Verdane attack on Jungby sets off a chain of events which changes Jugdral forever...
Class: Lord Knight |
- Badass
- Blade On a Stick: Notable for being the first Lord in the series to be able to use them. However, it's more likely that he'll stick with swords instead.
- Dead Little Sister near the end of Gen 1
- Decoy Protagonist
- Expy: His class, Lord Knight, is effectively a Paladin on 'roids, and the Tyrhung sure looks a lot like the Falchion.
- Forgotten Fallen Friend: Averted, he's mentioned at least once in every chapter of Gen 2, played straight with almost every other Gen 1 character however.. unless we count their kids' talks.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: He's capable of using any sword in the game, except the Balmunc and Mystletainn (and those are personal weapons anyway).
- Hot Dad: Of Celice
- Disappeared Dad: Later on. Damn you, Alvis.
- In Series Nickname: In the Nuts Fujimori manga, Cuan affectionately nicknames him "Sigulin" (Portmanteau of "Siglud" and "Ethlin").
- Late Arrival Spoiler: He dies, along with almost everyone else in his army, but seeing as how everyone knows about Gen 2 now and how it's almost impossible not to find out before beating Gen 1, it's not as surprising.
- Leitmotif: [[http://www.serenesforest.net/media/fe4ast/03%20-
- Light Is Good: He's a descendant of Baldo, the Crusader of Light. He doesn't get any magic, though.
- Mage Killer: Once he gets the Tyrhung.
- Our Ghosts Are Different / Spirit Advisor: He comes back in a secret cutscene very late in the second generation just to tell Celice not to let Alvis's death go do his head, and that he still has a way to go before he understands just what the whole war's been about.
- Shaggy Dog Story: He just can't catch a break
- Shoot the Shaggy Dog: What it leads to
- The Hero
- The Wise Prince
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
- You Killed My Father: To Langobalt and Reptor.
Alec
A knight of Chalphy, one of the few remaining with everyone else off to war. Loose, relaxed and something of a womanizer.
Class: Cavalier |
- Chivalrous Pervert: Could even be argued as being the predecessor to Sain.
- Fragile Speedster: Specializes in speed, but lacks Noish's defense and strength stats
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Nice Hat: That turban he wears.
- Ship Tease: If you make him talk to Sylvia, they hit it off nicely at first sight. And yup, they're easy to pair off after this.
- Suck My Rose: Tries to seduce Ira with this several times in the Nuts Fujimori manga. Hilariously fails each time.
Noish
A knight of Chalphy, one of the few remaining with everyone else off to war. Devoted and fiery.
Class: Cavalier |
- Hair of Gold
- Hot Blooded: Comes off as more passionately serious than Alec.
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Lightning Bruiser: Can be this if his Berserk skill kicks in often enough
- The Worf Effect: In the Oosawa manga, Noish is among the victims of Sandima's poisonous Fenrir spell. He does survive, though.
Arden
A knight of Chalphy, one of the few remaining with everyone else off to war.
Class: Sword Armour |
- Butt Monkey: Slightly.
- Gentle Giant
- Gonk: Though he's not as ugly in his official artwork.
- Homely Guy Hot Wife: If you pair him off
- Huge Guy Tiny Girl: If you pair him.
- Mighty Glacier
Azel of Velthomer
The half-brother of Alvis of Velthomer. Despite Alvis's warnings to the contrary, he travels to the south to assist in the fight against Verdane and rescue Adean, taking Lex with him.
Class: Mage |
- Adorkable
- Big Damn Heroes: In the Oosawa manga's rendition of the Prologue, he saves Midayle when he's held hostage by the Verdane army.
- Green Eyed Monster:
- Adean and Midayle suffer from this in the Nuts Fujimori manga: he works the nerve to propose Adean and she accepts, but he immediately realizes their relationship would fail in the end, and forces Adean and Midayle to sort out their UST and hook up.
- Similarly, he does this in the Oosawa manga but in regards to Adean and Jamuka. While Azel still holds feelings for her, he comes to accept his love is unrequited and doesn't reveal it, but when she ans Jamuka get hooked up he breaks down crying in the tent/room he shares with Lex, who ends up comforting him.
- Fiery Redhead: Subverted, he's as timid as they come
- Heterosexual Life Partners *and* Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Azel is the sensitive guy to Lex's manly man.
- Heroic Bastard: His dad was Lord Victor of Velthomer, his mom was the favorite maid of Alvis's mother Cigyun (who also had been little Alvis's nanny).
- Child By Rape: Victor took advantage of said maid when he was drunk, and got pissed when he learned that the poor girl was pregnant. Then It Got Worse.
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Magic Knight: Can promote to one.
- Missing Mom: When young Alvis kicked Victor's mistresses out of the court, only Azel's mom was allowed to stay. She became Alvis and Azel's caretaker, but died some years before the story happened.
- Playing With Fire
- Rebel Prince
- Shrinking Violet
Lex of Dozel
The son of Duke Langobalt of Dozel, the half-brother of Danan, and a childhood friend of Azel. He accompanies Azel to assist Siglud in the fight with Verdane, fully aware that his father would not be happy about assisting the house of Chalphy.
Class: Axe Knight |
- An Axe to Grind
- Badass
- Black Sheep: Of the Neir lineage. He's also the only member to have blue hair instead of brown/red.
- Cain and Abel: With Danan.
- Honest Axe: This nets him the powerful Hero Axe.
- Hot Blooded / Leeroy Jenkins: This quote sums it up.
Lex: Hahahaa... Alright, let's do this. Finally, a chance to kick some ass. |
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Mad Dictator's Handsome Son: The heroic son of Langobalt, an enemy character.
- Mighty Glacier: Normally.
- Lightning Bruiser: ... With the Hero's Axe, Lex is nigh-unkillable.
- Rebel Prince
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
Prince Cuan of Lenster
The prince of Lenster, a childhood friend of Siglud and Eltshan, and married to Siglud's sister Ethlin. He accompanies Ethlin to Chalphy to assist Siglud.
Class: Duke Knight |
- Different As Night and Day: His Nuts Fujimori and Oosawa adaptions are this. In the first, he's oblivious and sometimes comically stupid; in the second, he's much more serious and mature, though sometimes Not So Above It All.
- Disappeared Hot Dad: To Leaf and Altenna
- The Lancer: To Siglud
- The Obi Wan: To Fin
- Shipper On Deck: For Fin and Rackesis, in the Oosawa manga. It is his idea that Fin becomes Rackesis's bodyguard, after all.
Princess Ethlin of Lenster (Ethrin)
Cuan's wife and Siglud's sister. She sets out for Chalphy upon hearing word of their plight at Verdane's hands.
Class: Troubadour |
- Genki Girl
- Hot Mom: Of Leaf and Altenna.
- Promotion to Parent: She stepped up to take care of Siglud and Vyron after their mother died. The kicker? She's the younger sibling.
- Rose Haired Girl
- Shipper On Deck: For Fin and Rackesis as well as Adean and Jamuka , in the Oosawa manga.
- The Paladin
Fin
A fresh knight in the service of Lenster who accompanies Cuan and Ethlin to Chalphy.
Class: Lance Knight |
- Badass: Very much so
- Badass Normal: Easily Since being a Gen 1 character to live is impressive in itself and he's rather solid as a character.
- Future Badass: In Gen 1, he's a 15 year old Naive Newcomer. In Gen 2, he's Older and Wiser and it shows.
- Took a Level In Badass: It's expected that by the time Fin leaves the team in gen 1 he's become much more experienced. However, between the two generations, his stats remain identical even though he has become even more of a Badass.
- Blade On a Stick: Being a lance knight this is essentially a must, it helps that he gets an Infinity Minus One Lance and is essentially his trademark weapon
- Bodyguard Crush: On Rackesis in the Oosawa manga
- Chekhov's Gunman and Foreshadowing: Hey, guess what all that talk Cuan gave Fin about him being an important soldier and telling him not to die was for?
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Its Personal: To Trabant in Gen 2 for killing Cuan and Ethlin
- The Lancer: To Cuan, a literal one in fact.
- Love Martyr: A possible Alternate Character Interpretation for him as a borderline one to for Rackesis, in the Oosawa manga. Even if not, the scene where he brings Lachesis back from the Despair Event Horizon by stabbing himself with the Earth Sword and almost bleeding to death on her raises one or three eyebrows. Fortunately, they both get better.
- ______I Am your father: Is this to his daughter (most likely Nanna, if we take the mangas and Thracia in consideration, but he also has a talk like this with Lana and Lakche) if he had a lover in Gen 1. Interestingly enough he never gets to talk to his son.
- That MAY be a throw-back to how Delmud (the older brother of Nanna, who is his daughter if we follow Thracia and the mangas) may not be his son, but Beowolf's. Not an excuse in the case of Lester, Skasaher or other boys though.
- Magikarp Power-->Crutch Character: Starts out as the former in Gen 1, coming into the game at Level 1 and locked to a weapon type that is at a disadvantage against the enemies in the first two chapters. Leaves before the end of Gen 1, but comes back in Gen 2 at whatever level he was at when he left--which is probably in the high teens or even low twenties. Lacks Holy Blood of any sort, which equates to a severe disadvantage as far as growth rates are concerned.
- Manly Tears: He cries when he meets Altenna for the first time in years, and then she thanks him for having taken care of Leaf
- Older Than They Look: In Gen 2 he's in his mid 30s and a year older then Oifay (who does look his age), but despite that he looks about 20.
- Parental Substitute: To Leaf
- Second Love: In the Oosawa manga, to Rackesis after Eltshan kicks it.
- Sex Equals Love: Justified Trope, though: they hook up and go through Their First Time the night before he leaves Silesia alongside Cuan and Ethlin. And we all know what happens afterwards. Even more so, in that particular continuity... it's also the time where they conceive Delmud.
- May also qualify in the game timeline. Since Delmund is the older sibling, Beowolf is most likely Rackesis' first lover. Since Beowolf was "in the way," he was left out of the manga. Given Beowolf's last conversation with Rackesis though, she may had never truly loved him since she was too hung up on her brother, and he became aware of it so he let her go. After Beowolf's death, she probably fled to Lenster and had Nanna with Fin, and they raised her alongside Fin's ward Leaf. She then disappears when she crosses the desert back to get her son.
- Undying Loyalty: To the House of Lester, and specially Cuan.
Midayle (Midir, Middir, Mideel)
A knight of Jungby who attempted to protect Adean from the Verdane forces, but was defeated by Prince Gandolf. Upon reclaiming Jungby Castle, he is found by Siglud and accompanies him into Verdane to rescue Adean.
Class: Bow Knight |
- Bodyguard Crush: On Adean
- Second Love: If you pair him with someone else, specially her older sister Briggid. Which upsets Briggid quite a bit, as she openly wonders if their hook-up is based on Loving a Shadow.
Briggid: Look, Midayle. I know you used to like Adean. Do you think you'll be happy with me? |
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: In the Nuts Fujimori manga, he believes he won't be good enough for Edin part because of his lower lineage, part because he failed to protect her against Gandolf, and asks Azel to take her hand and make her happy. Azel ultimately responds with a I Want My Beloved to Be Happy of his own, and forces Midayle to go to Edin and become a couple with her.
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: A common reaction new players of the game get from him, to the point it gets milked for all its worth in the Nuts Fujimori manga: both Gandolf and Oifaye mistake him as an attractive girl at first.
- Horse Archer
- Hostage Situation: In both the Fujimori and the Oosawa mangas, the Verdane forces use the injured Midayle as a Distressed Dude when Siglud and Co. come Storming the Castle. In what could've been a Dying Moment of Awesome, both media have Midayle openly tell Siglud to go on and save Adean no matter what happens to him. And in both Azel steps in and saves him.
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Mood Whiplash: His confrontation with Gandolf in the Nuts Fujimori manga reeks of this. First he appears all cool to defend poor Adean, then drops a bridget on Gandolf who thinks he's a girl, and the action remains more or less comical until Gandolf almost kills him and leaves him to bleed to death while he takes a panicking Adean away.
Lady Adean of Jungby (Eideen, Edin, Aideen, Edain)
The daughter of Lord Ring of Jungby, taken hostage by Prince Gandolf; her kidnapping is what kicks off the whole plot, as Siglud and his knights set off to rescue her and free Jungby. She is soon freed by Prince Jamka, to find her way back to Siglud's forces with the help of Dew.
Class: Priest |
- Adrenaline Makeover: In the Fujimori manga she dons more practical clothes and ties her hair down in a ponytail... coincidentally looking like a younger version of her twin Briggid's "other self", Evayle.
- Armor Piercing Slap: Gives an awesome one to Gandolf in the Nuts Fujimori manga.
- Big Damn Heroes: Pulls this in the Oosawa manga, healing a seriously injured Azel right after she and Dew escape.
- Bouquet Toss: Gets it during Siglud and Diadora's wedding in the Nuts Fujimori manga. And she then becomes the next girl to get paired in the story.
- Distress Ball: Is whacked with one at the beginning.
- Rescue Romance: If paired up with Jamka, who bats the Distress Ball away from her.
- Different As Night and Day: With Briggid.
- Generation Xerox: If she's paired up, her daughter Lana will be very similar to her. Lampshaded by Fin if he's her dad.
- Go Through Me: In the Oosawa manga, she goes Dangerously Genre Savvy and tries to stop Jamka from fighting by directly stepping in between the armies, hoping her Ulir blood will get her luck up. The Verdane archers shoot her, much to Jamka's horror, but their arrows barely graze her cheek. She doesn't even flinch, and manages to recruit Jamka for their cause.
- Hello Nurse: Very, very popular with males.
- Hot Mom: Of Lana and Lester.
- Plucky Girl - Silk Hiding Steel: Does not rely on fighting skills and does not need to. Just look at her CMOA.
- Team Mom: Gen 2
- White Magician Girl
- Woman in White
Dew (Deu)
A thief caught and imprisoned by Jamka in an attempt to steal from Verdane's Castle Marpha, he was released by Jamka along with Adean and protected her on the way back to Siglud, staying with the crew from then n.
Class: Theif |
- Distress Ball: In-story, not in gameplay. He was a mere thief who was caught stealing treasures by Jamka, who then pardoned him but only if he became Adean's escort in exchange.
- Ephebophile: He's quite a bit younger than several of his love interests... though not a pre-pubescent boy either. The Oosawa manga makes him around 13-14.
- Getting Crap Past the Radar: His love talk with Rackesis.
Dew: Everyone's been sayin' that crap. I'm not a kid anymore! |
- Hair of Gold
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Fragile Speedster
- Keet
- Nice Guy
- Shipper On Deck: Diehard Adean/Midayle shipper in the Fujimori manga.
- Trickster: Come on, he's a thief.
Princess Ira of Isaac (Ayra, Aira)
The princess of Isaac, taking refuge in Verdane from her country's war to protect her young half-nephew Prince Shanan upon request of her brother, Crown Prince Mariccle. Verdane's Prince Kinbois forced her to fight for Verdane by holding Shanan hostage, but once Shanan was rescued by Siglud, she joined the Chalphy army following the downfall of Castle Genoa.
Class: Swordfighter |
- Action Girl
- Atop a Mountain of Corpses: Variation in the Nuts Fujimori manga. She beats up Kinbois' whole squad to prove him of her strength, and creates a mountain of it, but doesn't stand on top of it in the end.
- Badass
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: In the Nuts Fujimori manga, she has a few in reserve for Kinbois...
- Auntie Bear: To little Shanan.
- Hot Amazon
- Hot Chick With a Sword: Oh hell yes.
- Hot Mom: Of Lakche and Skasaher
- Generation Xerox: Lakche is as pretty and strong as she is, and this is lampshaded by Fin if he's her father.
- Foe Yay: Her fight with Lex in the Oosawa manga reeked with this.
- Love At First Punch - Slap Slap Kiss: Once she pulls her Heel Face Turn.
- Homely Guy Hot Wife: The "hot wife" half if paired with Arden
- Parental Substitute: To Shanan, upon orders of his father/her brother Prince Mariccle. She becomes his devoted protector and Auntie Bear.
- Marth Debuted in Smash Bros: She's set to appear in Fire Emblem Awakening as DLC.
- Plucky Girl
- Shipper On Deck: Yet another Fin and Rackesis shipper in the Oosawa manga.
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
- Tsundere: Type A
- Victorious Childhood Friend: In the Nuts Fujimori manga, she gets hooked with Holyn. It takes her a lot of time before finally remembering his face in her dreams of her childhood.
Prince Jamka of Verdane (Jamuka)
A Prince of Verdane, the younger brother of Kinbois and Gandolf. Kinder than his brothers, he is the only member of the royal family not under the sway of Sandima. He frees Adean and Dew before departing to confront his father, and is later convinced by Adean to defect to Siglud's army.
Class: Bow Fighter |
- The Archer
- Badass Normal: A solid unit who comes in with one of the best bows in the game, and the only royalty character without any holy blood.
- Bad Dreams: In the Oosawa manga, he keeps having a nightmare in which Adean is shot to death by his arrows. He has an Heroic BSOD when it seems to come true, but Adean is unharmed except for a cut in her cheek, and he defects.
- Cain and Abel: His brothers Kinbois and Gandolf (who was already pretty bad) fell under Sandima's control.
- Strangely, one of the later guides calls them his uncles despite Jamka and Gandolf calling each other brother.
- Facial Markings. A beauty mark of sorts in his forehead
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Only Sane Man: For seeing through Sandima's crap
- Rebel Prince: Subverted: he only rebels when Sandima takes control of the Verdane royal family, but he still loves his old man no matter what and isn't happy to go against him.
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- You Killed My Father: To Sandima
Diadora (Deirdre)
A mysterious girl living in the Spirit Forest of Verdane. She and Siglud instantly fall in love upon meeting, marrying shortly after the suppression of Verdane. She is later kidnapped by Manfroy of the Lopto Cult... ... and brainwashed into becoming the wife of Alvis of Velthomer. She is the daughter of Grandbell's Prince Kurth and Cigyun, the former wife of Victor of Velthomer; as such, she possessed both the blood of the Divine Dragon God Naga and of the Dark God Loptous. She gives birth to three children: Celice, with Siglud, and the twins Yurius and Yuria, with Alvis; Yurius's birth, and his resultant possession of full Loptous blood, inherited from both Diadora and Alvis, was key to the schemes of Manfroy and the Lopto Cult.
Class: Shaman |
- Brother Sister Incest: When Brainwashed and Crazy into marrying her half brother Alvis.
- Distressed Damsel
- Dying Moment of Awesome and Mama Bear: Diadora uses her last moments to save Yuria from the crazed Yurius, teleporting the girl away with her Warp staff before dying.
Diadora: "Yuria... you must survive..." |
- Facial Markings: Had one on her forehead, which she hid with her circlet. It came from her major Naga/Heim blood.
- Girl in The Tower: Or better said, Girl In The Forest. Like her Missing Mom Cigyun, since their kids would be potential vessels for Loptous.
- Heroic Bastard: Diadora was the illegitimate daughter of Lady Cigyun of Velthomer and Prince Kurth. Cigyun fell to Death By Childbirth, Kurth never knew about her and died several years later. (Or, in the Oosawa manga, died right after learning of her existence.)
- Hot Mom: Of Celice, Yurius and Yuria. She even looks the same when both are grown as seen in the attract mode.
- Hypnotize the Princess (One of the most dramatic and succesful examples ever.)
- Housewife: To the Lord of Chalphy. Lampshaded when, in the Oosawa manga, she's kidnapped while defending one of the conquered castles.
- Love At First Sight and Rescue Romance: With Siglud.
- Non Lethal KO: Every time she "dies", she'll come back at the end of the chapter, unscathed, because the enemy merely captured her. Justified Trope, tho: the bad guys NEED her alive and well in order to marry to her half-brother and thus create an evil god.
- Our Ghosts Are Different and Together in Death: When her and Siglud's souls meet with Celice.
- Rags to Riches: From a young girl who lived in the forest and had no idea that she was a Fallen Princess, to the loving wife of the future Lord of Chalphy, and then to the mindwiped Crown Princess/Empress of Grandbell.
- White Magician Girl: Pretty decent staff user.
- Woman in White
Holyn (Holin)
A gladiator found as the strongest opponent in Castle Evans' pit, and joins the group once he's defeated. He is a distant relative of the House of Isaac.
Class: Swordfighter |
- Defeat Means Friendship: He's the last fighter in the Evans castle's arena, and once he's defeated he joins the group. Note that this only happens when you clear it out for the first time, and he doesn't appear later.
- Fallen Prince: Implied. His father is the lord of Sophara, but we see him as a fighter in an arena and in Gen 2 Sophara is under Johan's command, and nobody knows what happened to Holyn's dad...
- Hair of Gold: Which is actually kinda odd, as he's from Isaac and yet pretty much every Isaacian we meet is black-haired save for him and Galzus.
- Hot Dad: If paired up.
- Kissing Cousins: With Ira if you hook them up.
- Money Dear Boy: Used to be his motivation, until you recruited him.
“You've got some serious spirit in your attack. Obviously you're not here for the money. Cash has been my motivator all these years... But after seeing you it kinda loses its meaning. You mind if I tag along? It'd be nice to fight for something real for a change.” |
- Rebel Prince
- Stalker With a Crush: Arguably towards Ira, though he doesn't pressure her into marrying him.
- Victorious Childhood Friend: To Ira, if you hook them up.
- Unlucky Childhood Friend: If not.
Princess Rackesis of Nodion (Lachesis)
The willful and hotblodded princess of Nodion, who holds her brother Eltshan in the utmost regard.
Class: Princess |
- Action Girl and White Mage
- Awesome Moment of Crowning: Gets one in the Oosawa manga, after Eltshan dies and both Aless and his mom go to Lenster for safety. Doubles as her promotion into Master Knight.
- Badass Princess: She's both an Action Girl and White Mage. Oh yeah, and the Oosawa manga made her a One Woman Army with some dialogue that is actually quite scary.
- Brother Sister Incest: With Eltshan, whom she admires to the point that she openly declares to not marry anyone who isn't better than him.
- Cranked Up to Eleven in the Oosawa manga, where they actually admit having mutual feelings and hope they'll be able to be lovers in their next lives. And then, he gets killed off.
- Despair Event Horizon: She almost reaches it in the Oosawa manga, after she and others find Eltshan's lifeless body. Barely manages to get better thanks to Fin, who at some point has to stop her from cutting herself with the Earth Sword that Eltshan gave her, since it heals her injuries and thus she can harm self all that she wants.
- Go Through Me: To stop Eltshan's fight with Siglud. Made even more dramatic in the Oosawa manga.
- Hair of Gold: May be picky and all, but she's not a bad person.
- Hot Mom: Of Nanna and Delmud. The less said about the dad, the better.
- Magikarp Power: And it's super easy to get her to level 20 thanks to her healing abilities.
- Parental Substitute: Accrding to Thracia 776, Leaf thought of her as such when he was a child.
- Tomboy Princess
- Well Excuse Me Princess: Particulary in her Nuts Fujimori manga portrayal.
- What Could Have Been: It's said she was supposed to have been turned into stone by Veld in Thracia 776, thus giving the possibility of having her recruited. Also, she was THIS close to be the mother of her brother Eltshan's son Aless...
- Zettai Ryouiki
Beowolf (Beowulf)
A Conote mercenary partnered with Voltz, hired by Macbeth of Agustria to hold off Siglud. He is convinced to side with Siglud... for a small fee. He claims to be an old friend of Eltshan, though how true his claim is is up in the air.
Class: Free Knight |
- Hot Dad: If paired up. And not only to his son and daughter in Seisen, but to Felgus of Thracia. But Felgus is an Heroic Bastard, so...
- Fountain of Expies: The Beowolf Archetype, mercenaries that can be recruited for the cost of a massive amount of gold.
- Forgotten Fallen Friend: His mercenary friend Voltz.
- Punch Clock Hero
Prince Levn of Silesia (Levin)
Silesia's errant prince, travelling the world. He is present in Agustria during Siglud's conflict with it, travelling with Sylvia, and sides with Siglud. After dying at the hands of Manfroy some time after the Battle of Barhara, he was revived by the god Holsety and later served as an advisor to Celice.
Class: Bard |
- Back From the Dead: He did die after Barhara, but Holsety itself revived him... at the cost of giving him Laser Guided Amnesia.
- Blow You Away: Comes in with Elwind and eventually gets Holsety
- But Now I Must Go: At the end of Gen 2. Many believe that he actually does die, as he got a lease on life via Holsety and now his mission is fulfilled.
- Hot Dad: If paired up. In Thracia and the mangas, however, his kids are Phee and Sety, meaning his Hot Mom companion is Ferry.
- King Incognito: Hides how he's the prince of Silesia.
- Man in White
- Modest Royalty: In his own words: in Gen 2, though.
"Celice, I don't care what Oifey may have told you. Don't EVER address me as 'King Levn' again. Got it?" |
- Nice Hat: Or again, nice headdress. He ditches it in Gen 2.
- Parental Substitute: To a young and amnesiac Yuria
- Parents As People: With his kids, and specially his daughters. It depends heavily on who his wife was: he's pretty harsh to Ferry's daughter Phee, acts somewhat gentler to Sylvia's daughter Leen, and cries when he talks to Tailto's daughter Teeny.
- Rebel Prince: Is dead set against taking Silesia's throne until midway through chapter 4.
- Sand in My Eyes: If he is Arthur and Teeny's dad, the latter will make him cry when telling him about Tailto's Kill the Cutie deal.
Teeny: Levn... are you okay? |
- Stealth Mentor: Word of God says he was one for Tailto's son Arthur. Which explains why the latter starts with Wind Magic regardless of who his father is, despite being of Tordo descent.
- The Strategist: Gen 2. Since Oifay is now a capable fighter, Levn takes up the role he had as a child.
- Team Dad
- Trickster: Gen 1.
- Wandering Minstrel: Subverted, he's only using a bard disguise at first.
Sylvia
A dancer who travels Jugdral to use her skills to help the suffering. During her travels, she met Levn, and is with him in Agustria during its fight with Siglud.
Class: Dancer |
- Abusive Parents: Her stepfather, who taught her how to dance but subjected her to Corporal Punishment if she failed to meet his standards.
- Bare Your Midriff
- Because You Were Nice to Me: In the Oosawa manga she explains to Ferry that Levn was the first person in her travels who treated her well, thus she fell for him due to his kindness.
- Big Breasts Big Deal - Gag Boobs
Levn: That self-confidence can't come from your breasts, that's for sure. You flat-chested girl! |
- Does Not Like Shoes
- Genki Girl: Deconstructed, as she ends up as a a Broken Bird years later.
- Hooker With a Heart of Gold: Strongly implied by her dialogue with Levn in her initial appearance.
Levn: Alright, you can come with me if you want. But things might get a little rough. You okay with that? |
- Kissing Cousins: It's heavily implied that she and Claud are brother and sister (mostly due to their shared Blaggi blood and the fact that he mentions that he has a long-lost sister who would be about her age), though Word of God says they are just distant cousins.
- Hot Mom: Of Leen and Corpul
- Mouthy Kid: Is already 14 (16 in the Oosawa manga), but comes off as this sometimes
- Spoony Bard: Though she can use swords
- The Tease
Ferry (Fury)
A Silesian pegasus knight searching for Prince Levn, looking to bring him home.
Class: Pegasus Knight |
- Action Girl
- Badass Normal
- Bodyguard Crush: On Levn
- Heel Face Turn: She's tricked into believing that Levn is about to be executed by Siglud, so Levn has to talk her outta it.
- Heroic BSOD: when Mahnya dies.
Ferry: Huh!? My sister was... No! It can't be true! Ooooh! Please! Someone tell me it's not true!! |
- The High Queen: After Queen Rahna's death and Levn's disappearance, Ferry becomes the Queen of Silesia (only if you pair her with Levn, in the original game; in Thracia 776 and the manga, it's set in stone canon). According to Sety, she was a Reasonable Authority Figure and very compassionate: "She never could turn a blind eye when somebody was in trouble".
- Homely Guy Hot Wife: The "hot wife" half if you pair her with Arden
- Hot Mom: Of Phee and Sety.
- Huge Guy Tiny Girl: If you pair her with Arden
- The Ingenue: Has some traits, specially in regards to how gullible she can be sometimes.
- Lady of War
- Oblivious to Love: Her love interests have to spell "I love you" to her. Double if it's Levn.
- Quirky Miniboss Squad: The squad she leads to Evans in Chapter 2 gets developed as this in the Nuts Fujimori manga, with all members given a name, face and personnality: Tino, the youngest member, a Genki Girl in unrequited love with Ferry; Aurora, sweet childfood friend and Straight Man to Tino; Psyche, a strong and cheerful girl who loves to eat; and Jeremiah, the Cool Big Sis of the squad and Ferry's Lancer.
- Tender Tears: Is said to cry a lot in the Oosawa manga.
- Unlucky Childhood Friend or Victorious Childhood Friend: Depending on whether or not you pair her with Levn in Seisen. Thracia and the mangas do make her the latter, though.
- The Woman Wearing the Queenly Mask: She did what she could as the Silesian Queen (in the manga and Thracia 776), but ultimately died of illness while waiting for her hubby to return.
Tailto of Freege (Tiltyu)
The youngest child of Freege's Duke Reptor. She is an admirer of Father Claud, and accompanied him to Blaggi Tower.

- Break the Cutie
- Cain and Abel: Her older brother Bloom.
- Genki Girl: In the first part, mostly. Then things got worse.

- Hot Mom: Of Arthur and Teeny.
- Mad Scientists Beautiful Daughter: The good daughter of Reptor. The eldest of the two, actually: the younger is Ethnia.
- Mama Bear: Even in her lowest times, whenever Hilda threatened little Teeny she gathered what was left of her spunk and willingly took punishment so her girl would be physically untouched.
- Rebellious Princess
- Shock and Awe: As a Tordo descendant
- Stepford Smiler: Looks cheerful and plucky, but fears she'll be branded as a traitor. And after Barhara... her fears come true.

- Tomboyish Ponytail
- Tsundere
- Unlucky Childhood Friend or Victorious Childhood Friend: Depending on whether or not you pair her with Azel or Lex.

- White Haired Pretty Girl: Which is actually a family trait, since Crusader Tordo's descendants generally have silvery hair.
Father Claud of Edda (Claude)
Edda's ruler, who travelled to Blaggi Tower to pray and learn of the truth of the circumstances of Prince Kurth's death. Accompanied by Tailto, the two are cornered by the pirates of Orgahill upon departure.
Class: High Priest |
- Dead Little Sister: He had a younger sister who disappeared when they were young. Said sister may be Sylvia.
- The databooks try to dispel it by saying they're "distant cousins" instead. Huh.
- Face Death With Dignity: He clearly knows he'll die at Barhera, but decides to go anyway because You Can't Fight Fate. See his lover's talk with Adean, i.e.

The pirates turn on her with dissatisfaction at her style of leadership, and she is reunited with Adean. She somehow survives the Barhara Massacre, albeit without her memories, and eventually turns up in the distant Fiana Village under the name Eyvel...
Class: Sniper |
- Action Girl
- The Archer
- Broken Bird
- Cain and Abel: Her younger brother Andorey killed her father for the inheritance.
- Different As Night and Day and Tomboy and Girly Girl: She and Adean. Their relationship is more friendly - Adean even gives Briggid her best weapon, the Ichival Bow, which she kept for years as she patiently waited for her older sister's return.
- Hot Amazon
- Hot Mom: Of Patty and Faval.
- Hair of Gold
- Just Like Robin Hood: As a pirate.
“Dobarl, enough! I won't allow any such nonsense! I've got a creed to uphold, and pilfering is no part of it. We Orgahill Pirates are known for giving to the poor, not taking from them!” |
- The Ladette: Due to her upbringing as a pirate
- Loving a Shadow: If she hooks up with either Jamka or Midayle, she will deeply fear that they only love her for being the twin sister of Adean. Both of them will dispell her of said beliefs in their last love talk.
- Pirate Girl: Was kidnapped as a child by type 2 pirates, but the leader grew fond of her and raised her as his kid and the future leaderess of the group. Though sadly she's not in the pirate class, who seem to be Always Male in Fire Emblem.
- Trauma Induced Amnesia: She survived Barhara, but was memory-wiped afterwards. She took up the name "Eyvel", and we see her as a playable character in Thracia. Her Thracia ending says she recovered her memories in the end and was reunited with Patty and Faval.
2nd Generation Playable Characters (fixed)
Celice
Class: Junior Lord |
The son of Siglud, and The Hero of the second part. A shy but strongwilled boy with huge swordfighting abilities and a gentle heart, he's now the hope of hundreds of people who see him as the one who can end the tyranny of Grandbell.
- Badass: After his promotion he's just powerful as Siglud.
- Badass Long Hair: Not as long-haired as Shanan, but just as badass.
- Humble Hero
- The Chosen One and The Messiah: Or so the people of his land think. Which scares him a little, to be honest.
- Nice Guy
- Mage Killer: Once he gets the Tyrhung.
- She Is Not My Girlfriend: In regards to Yuria, after she's captured by Manfroy.
Levn: You're worried about Yuria, aren't you... You really like her, don't you... |
- Shy Blue Haired Boy: Has some traits at the beginning.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
Oifey (Oifaye)
Class: Paladin |
Siglud's cousin and Shanan's best friend, we meet him in Part 1 as a sweet boy who worked as The Strategist for the good guys. After the Time Skip, we meet an Older and Wiser Oifaye who helped raise Celice and the other children, trained Delmud in swordplay, and is now a strong fighter.
- Badass Moustache: Grows one in the 2nd Generation.
- Crutch Character: Unlike his predecessors Jagen and Arran, he remains useful throughout the entire game.
- Boy In White: First generation
- Cosplay Otaku Boy: In the Fujimori manga
- Dropped a Bridget On Him: Gets hit by this regarding Midayle in the Nuts Fujimori manga. He still finds him irresistibly attractive even after this revelation.
- He Is All Grown Up: The cute little strategist from Part 1 is now a very badass Paladin.
- Keet: Very much so in the Fujimori manga
- Master of Disguise: Tries to be this in the Nuts Fujimori manga, but repeatedly and hilariously fails at this.
- May December Romance: A mild case happens if he gets paired up with anyone. Phee seems to be quite smitten with him, to start...
- Meido: In the Nuts Fujimori manga, this is one of his favourite disguises.
- Parental Substitute - Team Dad: Helped Adean to raise Celice and the other kids.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Takes over the Dukedom of Chalphy after Celice is crowned Emperor and Shanan becomes King of Isaac.
- Survivor Guilt: He's pretty beat about abandoning Siglud and leaving him to die in Gen 1.
- The Strategist: Was this as a boy. Then he grew up and Took a Level In Badass, thus Levn takes his role.
- Undying Loyalty: To Siglud and Celice.
Yuria (Julia)
Class: Shaman |
A sweet and shy girl around Celice's age, who is brought by Levn in the group. She has amnesia and has forgotten a good part of her past, but can handle staves and magic tomes well. She is actually Celice's half-sister, Yurius's twin sister and Diadora's daughter with Alvis, as well as the one holding major Naga blood in this generation.
- Black Magician Girl: Give her the right spellbook, and she'll become an absolute Game Breaker.
- Brainwashed and Crazy and Hypnotize the Princess
- Brother Sister Incest:Subverted, as she and Celice have a negative love growth. However, it is possible to pair them anyway if you exploit the "Jealousy" system via strategic placing of Lakche and Lana, but this only works if you don't reset the game at all after Chapter 5. (Or if you keep them pretty much "glued" to each others's sides until she gets kidnapped.
- Magical Girl Warrior
- Non Lethal KO: If she gets killed off in battle, once the stage is over she'll be found by Celice in the recently-taken castle. Again, a Justified Trope: as the Princess of Grandbell, the Grandbell enemies won't kill her, and the Thracian enemies presumably want to use her as a hostage.
- Woman in White
- White Magician Girl: No matter what spellbook you give her, she'll always handle staves well.
Johan
Class: Axe Knight |
The second of the three sons of Danan, the ruler of Isaac and heir of Neir. A mounted axe warrior with a crush on Lakche and a somewhat kinder disposition than his dad. Sadly, he does NOT get along with Johalva, his youngest brother; therefore, he can't be recruited if you reach for Johalva first.
- An Axe to Grind: Bonuses for being a mounted axe fighter
- Bad Boss: One of his soldier's claims that he treats them "like dogs", though its not known how seriously this was meant.
- Cain and Abel: With Johalva and Burian

- Even Evil Has Standards: Neither he nor Johalva support the child hunts

- Jerk With a Heart of Gold: Not as openly as Johalva, but people still note how he's not as bad as his older relatives.
- Martial Arts Headband: A blue one
- Purple Prose: He even waxes it out when he dies!
Johan (as an enemy): Ahh... The virtuous rebel army has defeated me... Lakche/Radney, our love is eternal... |
- Shallow Love Interest: To Lakche/Radney, Played for Laughs.
- Something About a Rose: In most illustrations.
Johalva (Johalvier)
Class: Axe Fighter |
The third and youngest of the sons of Danan, the ruler of Isaac and heir of Neir. Also an axe warrior and very Hot Blooded. Too bad he doesn't get along with Johan; therefore, he can't be recruited if you reach for Johan first.
- An Axe to Grind
- Cain and Abel: He's on terrible terms with his older siblings Johan and Burian
- Even Evil Has Standards: Doesn't hurt kids or women, unlike the rest of Danan's troops. And neither of the brothers like the child hunts
- Heel Face Turn: If recruited by Lakche or Radney.
- Hot Blooded
- Jerk With a Heart of Gold:
"He acts like a bad guy, but is honourable deep inside." |
- Martial Arts Headband: A green one
- Shallow Love Interest: To Lakche/Radney, played straighter than in Johan's case.
Prince Leaf of Lenster
Class: Prince |
Celice's paternal cousin and the youngest son of Cuan and Ethlin, raised by Fin in hiding.
- Ascended Extra: His later role as The Hero of Thracia 776.
- Magikarp Power: Goes from low-level prince to ass-kicking Master Knight.
- Man in White
- Took a Level In Badass: After his promotion to Master Knight and generally in comparison to how he was in his own game.
Prince Shanan of Isaac
Class: Swordmaster |
As mentioned above, he's the half-nephew of Ira and the son of King Mariccle of Isaac, thus he is the rightful heir to the throne occupied by Danan. Raised by Adean alongside the other kids, he is the oldest of the group and has a huge responsability on his shoulders.
- Badass
- Badass Adorable: Very cruel aversion in the Oosawa manga. We do see the kid beating up adult fighters in the arena, but the rendition of Diadora's capture is something very different; bless his heart for trying to help, but he gets completely trashed by Manfroy, and it's when Diadora tries to save him that she lowers her defense enough for Manfroy to get at her.
- Badass Long Hair: Long, dark Rapunzel Hair that reaches his hips.
- Chick Magnet: Oh Patty, Daisy, Radney and Lakche...
- Distressed Dude: Gen 1. Justified Trope due to his extreme youth.
- Failure Knight: Driven to be strong since he failed to keep Diadora from being kidnapped and then Brainwashed and Crazy.
- Generation Xerox: When grown up, he looks exactly like his Hot Dad Mariccle. Seriously!
- May December Romance: A May September case happens if he gets paired up with anyone. Specially with Lakche, which doubles as Kissing Cousins as she is the daughter of his half-aunt Ira.
- Rebel Prince: Leader of the resistence against Isaac's tyrannical government in part 2. And he's crowned as King of Isaac if he makes it to the end of the game.
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- He Is All Grown Up: The adorable little boy from Gen 1 is now a Badass Long Hair.
Aless (Ares)
Class: Cavalier |
Son of Eltshan and Rackesis' nephew, and the holder of the major Hezul blood.
- Badass
- Black Knight
- Fallen Prince: Was raised by a mercenary named Jabarro after Nodion fell, his dad was executed, and his mom was killed when Lenster also was invaded. If he makes it to the end of the game, he returns to Nodion so he can take over and reconstruct it.
- Fire Forged Friends: With Celice, once they sort the Sins of Our Fathers issues out.
- Kissing Cousins: Since he's the son of Eltshan, this happens if he's paired with Rackesis's daughter Nanna.
- Mage Killer
- Tragic Keepsake: Aside of the Mystletainn? A letter from Eltshan that Rackesis gave to Nanna before leaving. She gives it to him as proof of how Siglud and Eltshan never were enemies.
Princess Altenna of Thracia
Class: Dragon Knight |
The princess of Lenster as well as Cuan and Ethlin's daughter and Leaf's older sister. Raised by the killer of her parents, Trabant, she appears as an enemy but soon starts having doubts about her mission and heritage. thus she can be swayed to your side...
- Action Girl
- Anti Villain: Until she's recruited
- Blade On a Stick: Her Gae Bolg lance.
- Broken Bird
- Dragon Rider
- Lady of War
- Long Lost Sibling: To Leaf, though she doesn't know it. He can reveal this to her, plant the seeds of doubt in her heart (leading her to call out Trabant), and make her pull a Heel Face Turn.
- Not Blood Siblings: Heavily implied that she and Areone are lovers. The fact that she can't be paired up with anyone else in your army supports this.
- Not Quite Dead: Areone only knocks her out instead of killing her, when she confronts Trabant on his murder of her parents.
- Star Crossed Lovers: With Areone, due to him being engaged to Linoan and the whole deal with Trabant.
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
- You Killed My Parents: To Trabant, mixed with Calling the Old Man Out.
Hannibal
Class: General |
The most powerful general of the Thracian kingdom, and a noble and just person who is very well-loved. Unfortunately, his boss King Trabant has caught on his intentions...
- Cool Old Guy: While his exact age is unclear, he's definitely much older then everyone else as evidenced by the wrinkles on his portrait.
- Mighty Glacier
- Married to The Job: According to a villager.
2nd Generation Playable Characters (Children)
Children of Adean
Lana (Rana)
Class: Priest |
The daughter of Adean, and a quite powerful healer. As strongwilled as she's kind, she's among the first who joins Celice's quest.
- Cool Big Sis: To Yuria. To the point that Lana feels guilty if she and Celice hook up, as poor Lana believes she's betraying Yuria's love for him.
- Kissing Cousins: If paired up with Briggid's son, Faval.
- Brother Sister Incest: Because Adean and Briggid are identical twins, Faval is also Lana's genetic half brother.
- Plucky Girl: When Celice tells her "nuns and warfare DO NOT MIX", she stands her ground and refuses to leave. Celice admits he's wrong and lets her join.
Lana: “Nuns can fight too, you know. I feel just as strongly about this as Lakche does. The imperial troops are becoming crueler with each passing day. It's dangerous just to be a girl anymore! But I don't plan to go down without a fight. I have my own means of warfare!” |
- Silk Hiding Steel: Like her mom.
- Unlucky Childhood Friend or Victorious Childhood Friend: To Celice, becoming the latter in the Nea Fuyuki manga.
- She is also this to Delmud and specially to Skasaher since they were raised with her, Celice, Lester and Lakche.
- White Mage --> The Paladin: Again, takes after her mom. She'll always be pretty good as the first, but her skills as the latter really depend on which dad she gets.
Lester
Class: Arch Knight |
Adean's son, Lana's brother and Celice's good friend, and a skilled archer like many descendants of Ulir.
- Horse Archer
- Kissing Cousins: If paired up with Briggid's daughter, Patty.
- Brother Sister Incest: Patty is also Lester's genetic half-sister due to their mothers being identical twins.
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair
Children of Ira
Lakche

One of Ira's Half Identical Twins children, and a Hot Blooded swordwoman just like her mom. She was raised with Celice and has a crush on her cousin Shanan, though her romantic feelings can be swayed towards others.
- Action Girl

- Tsundere

- Gender Blender Name: His name is derived from the female warrior Scathach
- The Lancer: To Celice, alongside Lakche
- Nice Guy: Very levelheaded and kind, sometimes has to keep his sister from running off on her own.
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- Unlucky Childhood Friend or Victorious Childhood Friend: To Lana, depending on you hooking them up or not.
Children of Rackesis
Delmud
The oldest of Rackesis's children, and a mounted swordsman. Was taught swordplay by Oifaye while being raised by Adean. Rackesis disappeared searching either for him or his cousin Aless.
- Hair of Gold
- Heroes Prefer Swords
- The Lancer: To his cousin Aless in the ending, whom he follows to Agustria if he doesn't inherit a land from his father's line.
- Unlucky Childhood Friend or Victorious Childhood Friend: To either Lana or Lakche, since he was raised with them in Isaac.
Nanna
Delmud's younger sister and the other child of Rackesis. Unlike Delmud, she grew up in Lester alongside Leaf, and was taken care for by Fin.
- Action Girl and White Mage: Whether she's good as one or the other will heavily depend on which guy is her dad, tho.
- Badass Princess: More archetypically feminine than her mother, but still determined to do the right thing and help out Leaf and her friends.
- Calling the Old Man Out: Milder case, if Fin is her father. In their Chapter 7 talk she has just found out that Rackesis never reached for Delmud and went missing after getting into the Yied desert and is not happy about it.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Regarding Leaf in the Nea Fuyuki manga.
- Hair Decorations: The feathers in her hair.
- Hair of Gold
- Kissing Cousins: With Aless, if you pair them
- The Lancer <- -> The Chick: She also follows Aless to Augustria if she's not paired up.

- Unlucky Childhood Friend or Victorious Childhood Friend: Depending on whether or not you pair her with Leaf. Officially becomes the second in both Thracia 776 and the Nea Fuyuki manga.
Children of Ferry

- Plucky Girl
Sety
Ferry's son, Phee's brother, and an extremely powerful magic user. He is considered "Sety the Hero" for fighting against the empire.
- Calling the Old Man Out: Not as bad as Phee, but he definetly holds a grudge on Levn if he's his father
- Generation Xerox: To the Crusader Sety himself, as pointed out in Thracia 776.
- Hero of Another Story: In Thracia 776.
- Heroic Self Deprecation: Makes a fine work of defending Manster from Thracia, yet believes he hasn't done enough.
"Manster had a great number of children seized and sent to the shrine in Miletos. I was unable to prevent it... I'm no hero, sir. I'm a coward if anything." |
- Man in White: In some illustrations.
- Nice Guy
- Red Baron: "Sety the Hero"
Children of Tailto
Arthur
Class: Mage |
The son of Tailto, who grew up in Silesia. Managed to escape from the Freeges and learned Wind Magic in spite of his thunder-magic-oriented heritage, and now he's back and has some bones to pick with his own family.
- Big Brother Instinct: Towards Teeny, especially if you don't pair either and get a special talk event with them in the final chapter.
- Disc One Nuke: If you pair Tailto with Levn, he gets Holsety at the beginning of Generation 2.
- Mommas Boy: A sympathetic example. Having been separated from Tailto when he was a little boy, Arthur has his mother's image in a high pedestal and will NOT forgive those who made her and Teeny suffer.
- Sugar and Ice Personality: Phee refers to him as one
- Orphan's Plot Trinket: He and Tinny have matching pendants given to them by Tailto.
- What Could Have Been: He was to appear in Thracia 776.
- White Haired Pretty Boy
Teeny (Tinny)

Arthur's little sister and Tailto's daughter. She was raised in a very ill-tempered household, thus despite her high magical skills, she's very insecure and shy.
- Action Girl: In a Little Miss Badass kind of way.
- Badass Adorable
- Break the Cutie: Was a witness to all the shit Tailto went through. And Tailto herself went Mama Bear and willingly took even more of Hilda's crap to protect her, even at her lowest. OUCH!
- Let's Get Dangerous: When she goes Inigo Montoya on Hilda.
- Mega Twintails: These are almost bigger than her head!
- Orphan's Plot Trinket: Her and Arthur's medallions.
- Shrinking Violet
- White Haired Pretty Girl
Children of Briggid
Patty
Class: Theif |
Briggid's daughter, who became a thief to help feed the kids of the Orphanage of Love she and her brother Faval were raised in.
- Action Girl
- Braids of Action: Keeps her Hair of Gold in a long braid.
- Fan Girl: Of Shanan, whom she's admired for quite a while. In fact, when he catches her stealing the Balmunc and reveals his identity to her, she starts fangirling him right there and he has to remind her that she's got his sword.
- Genki Girl
- Gold Digger: Portrayed as this in the Nea Fuyuki manga. She comically fails at this, and ultimately can't help but fall in love and hook up with the poor-as-a-church-mouse Lester.
- Just Like Robin Hood
- Kissing Cousins: If paired up with Adean's son, Lester.
- Brother Sister Incest: Because Adean and Briggid are identical twins, Patty and Lester are also genetic half-siblings.
- Magikarp Power
- May December Romance: If paired with the quite older Shanan
- Nice Hat: Such a cute and HUGE one.
- Older Than They Look: A conversation with Corpul in Chapter 9 suggests this.
Patty: You said I look like a CHILD?! |
- Parental Substitute: Sorta. She was raised in an orphanage, and became a thief to help feed the kids there. Think of a Cool Big Sis with a part-time job, only said job is theft.
- Supreme Chef: Shown as this in all of her Epilogue love talks. The various 4-Koma manga tend to go the other way for Rule of Funny purposes.
Faval
Class: Bow Fighter |
Bridget's son with major Ulir blood and huge archery skills. Was tricked into joining Freege's army, so he has to be brought by Patty into the group.
- The Archer
- Big Brother Instinct: Do not badmouth Patty or Briggid!
“Yeah, well, I caught a guy making fun of you. He said 'It's no wonder you became a thief with a pirate for a mum'. Of course, I floored the guy for saying that.” |
- Hair of Gold
- Kissing Cousins: If paired up with Adean's daughter Lana.
- Brother Sister Incest: Lana is also Faval's genetic half-sister due to their mothers being identical twins.
- Martial Arts Headband
Children of Sylvia
Leen (Lynn)
Class: Dancer |
A beautiful dancer and Aless's companion and friend. She is the lost daughter of Sylvia, raised in a convent and away from her brother Corple.
- Attempted Rape or Rape As Drama: Strongly hinted that she went through this under Bramsel.
- Broken Bird: Can be quite cynical compared to the other girls in the army
- Does Not Like Shoes
- Hair Decorations: Pink hairbands
- Long Lost Sibling: To Corpul
- Mysterious Protector: If her father is Levn, she will tell him that she's always felt someone has been watching over her, and wonder if said protector was his dad. Knowing Levn... if said story is true, he probably was.
- Rescue Romance: If paired with Aless
- Petite Pride: In her TCG card, she's got rather small boobs. Specially when compared with the more curvy Laylea. She doesn't seem to care.
- Spoony Bard
- Stripperiffic
- Tell Me About My Father: She asks this to Levn in Chapter 10, if he is her and Corpul's father. He can't say a lot for obvious reasons, but will assure her that her parents love her and will come back for her someday.
- Tsundere: Slightly, to Aless.
Corpul (Corple)
Class: Priest |
Sylvia's youngest kid, who was raised by General Hannibal... and used as a hostage by his father's boss, King Trabant.
- Distressed Dude: Is taken hostage as a means of forcing his adoptive father Hannibal into battle.
- Hair of Gold
- Magikarp Power: With Azel or Levn as his father, he can become quite a powerful magic unit.
- Late Character Syndrome: Unfortunately, he suffers this as well, so most players deem him not worth the effort. (Unless his dad is Claud, that is: then he can have the Valkyrie staff and handle healing and reviving while he leaves the Holsety to Sety or Arthur)
2nd Generation Playable Characters (Replacement Children)
- Expy: All of them are expies of the original children, in one way or another. Especially Amid and Linda, since they have holy blood (minor Tordo) as well.
- What Could Have Been: Daisy, Femina, Janne and Asaello were supposed to appear in Thracia 776, alongside Arthur from the original kids group.
- Your Army Killed Our Parents: In story, their mothers and fathers were retainers and/or warriors associated to Siglud and Co. (or to Eltshan, since Tristan and Janne's Disappeared Dad was one of Eltshan's Cross Knights); they were killed off either during the war of shortly thereafter, so their kids join the Liberation Army for their sake. For Amid and Linda, their dad was killed off... and their mom was Ethnia, Blume and Tailto's Dead Little Sister, who was abused by Hilda until she died.
Replacements of Adean's children.
Mana
Class: Priest |
A civilian girl from Issac who was raised by Celice, trained (presumably by Adean) in staff use. Replaces Lana if Adean didn't have children.
- Brainy Brunette
- The Cutie
- Proper Lady: Looks the part well but other parts, not as well.
- Plucky Girl: Just like Lana, Manna dislikes being on the sidelines. She's a little more shy about it, though.
- Star Crossed Lovers: She angsts a bit regarding her budding love towards Celice, due to their total opposite social classes. Logically, if you pair them up, this will be subverted.
- White Magician Girl
Dimna
Class: Arch Knight |
A young archer from Isaac as well as Mana's brother. Replaces Lester if Adean didn't have children.
- Heroic Self Deprecation - Shrinking Violet: His shyness and inferiority complexes are a constant theme for him.
- Horse Archer
- Tall Dark and Handsome
Replacements of Ira's children
Radney
Class: Swordfighter |
A beautiful but skittish swordwoman from Isaac, and Celice's another female friend. Replaces Lakche if Ira didn't have children.
- Action Girl
- Bokukko - Tomboy: If not even more so than Lakche: Radney promotes into a Hero, an almost exclusively-male class (with Machua of Thracia 776 and Echidna of Sword of Seals as the only other exceptions)
- Cute Bruiser
- Does Not Like Men: Radney hates men so much due to the Isaacian brutality towards young women that she has two conversations about that. One is when she almost freaks out against Johan or Johalva when one of them stands too close for several turns, another when Roddlevan mentions her reasons to not like men.
- Hot Amazon: As an Expy of Lakche, she can't be less. At least personality-wise.
- Plucky Girl
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
- Tsundere
- Zettai Ryouiki: Her TCG card gives her a Grade A.
Roddlevan
Class: Swordfighter |
Radney's levelheaded older brother, and an Isaacsian swordman. Replaces Skasaha if Ira didn't have children.
- Heroes Prefer Swords
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Tristan.
Replacements of Rackesis's children
Janne
Class: Troubadour |
Youngest daughter of a dead Cross Knight, raised by Fin after a turbulent early life. Replaces Nanna if Rackesis didn't have children.
- Action Girl and White Mage
- Hair Decorations: Nanna has a feather-shaped hairpin, Janne has a pink headband
- Happily Adopted: Twice. After her Cross Knight dad perished, she was taken in by a local merchant (and separated from Tristan at the same time). However, her kind adoptive dad was killed too when she was about 7 years old, and then Fin adopted her and raised her with Leaf.
- Plucky Girl
- Zettai Ryouiki: In her TCG card.
Tristan

Eldest son of a dead Cross Knight and the brother of Jeanne, raised by Adean. Replaces Delmud if Rackesis didn't have children.
- Heroes Prefer Swords
- Vitriolic Best Buds: With Roddlevan.
Replacements of Ferry's children
Femina
Class: Pegasus Knight |
A Siglud and Ferry fangirl who has just achieved her dream to be a Pegasus Knight. Replaces Phee if Ferry didn't have children.
- Action Girl and White Mage
- Fan Girl: She was a Ferry and Siglud fan, and became a Pegasus Knight to follow their example.
Hawk: So you joined the liberation army, did you? |
- Ascended Fangirl: While she obviously doesn't get to fight with her idols, Femina does get to join Siglud's son in his quests.
- Fragile Speedster
- Genki Girl
- Plucky Girl
- Zettai Ryouiki
Hawk
Class: Sage |
A talented and famous magician, as well as Femina's brother. Replaces Sety if Ferry didn't have children.
- Chronic Hero Syndrome: As an Expy of Sety, Hawk also shares his biggest flaw.
- Magic Knight: And a pretty decent one, even without Holsety
- Overshadowed By Awesome: Stat-wise, he's one of the better substitutes and a good character in his own right, but he replaces the Game Breaker Sety so...
- Tall Dark and Handsome
Replacements of Tailto's children
Amid
Class: Wind Mage |
A wandering mage from Silesia, who has a grudge against the Freeges due to the death of his mother, Bloom and Tailto's younger sister Ethnia. Replaces his cousin Arthur if Tailto didn't have children.
- Blow You Away
- Magic Knight
- Sugar and Ice Personality
- You killed Our Mother: He and Linda pull this on Hilda, on behalf of the deceased Ethnia
Linda
Class: Thunder Mage |
A sweet mage from the House of Freege, and Amid's sister. Replaces her cousin Teeny if Tailto didn't have children.
- Black Mage
- Hair Decorations: Her yellow headband
- Expy: In addition to the automatic expy-ness of being a replacement character, she's also somewhat of an expy of the first and third games' Linde, which is lampshaded by recurring character Jake in a conversation.
- She's Got Legs: In illustrations, the slits of her white robe show off a very long and shapely pair of legs
- Shock and Awe: Is a Thunder Mage.
- Silk Hiding Steel: Linda is sweet and humble, but less shy than Teeny. She's also a thunder mage, with raw power almost equalling her aunt Tailto's..
- Woman in White: In almost all illustrations, except for a card in which she's dressed in purple.
- You Killed Our Mother: She and Amid pull this on Hilda, on behalf of the deceased Ethnia
Replacements of Briggid's children
Daisy
Class: Thief |
A civilian girl who has taken up stealing from the rich to help the Orphanage of Love she was raised in. Replaces Patty if Briggid didn't have children.
- Action Girl
- Adult Child: She acts very childishly sometimes.
Daisy: My personal lesson with Shanan! WHEEEE! |
- Hair Decorations: Patty has a Nice Hat, Daisy has a pink headband.
- Fan Girl: Of Shanan, just like Patty.
- Fragile Speedster
- Genki Girl
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
Asaello
Class: Bow Fighter |
A talented and well-known archer, and Daisy's brother. Replaces Faval if Briggid didn't have children.
- The Archer
- Fire Forged Friends: With Celice. He hates all royalty and nobles with a passion after his and Daisy's parents were killed, caught under two fires during the Thracia-Manster wars, but still, on his own admission in the ending, came to like him.
- Friend to All Children: Adults dislike and fear him, but children love him. And he loves them back, doing his hardest to make money with mercenary work for the orphanage he holds with his sister Daisy.
- I Just Want to Be Special: In the last chapter, if he's paired with Mana, he will have a conversation with her where he'll tell how frustrated he is at being powerless in this battle, and wish he could have just a little Crusader blood in him.
- Martial Arts Headband
- Red Baron: "Hitman of Conote"
Replacements of Sylvia's children
Laylea (Leilia, Leyla, Layla)
Class: Dancer |
A beautiful and sorta cynical dancer who works with Aless. Replaces Leen if Sylvia didn't have children.
- Attempted Rape or Rape As Drama: Since Laylea takes Leen's role, this is hinted for her as well. Damn you, Bramsel.
- Broken Bird
- Does Not Like Shoes
- Spoony Bard
- Stripperiffic
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo: Looks less Moe than Leen, both in face (finer features, less rounded face shape) and body (Leen is slim and flat chested, Layla has a hourglass figure).
- The Tease: Is somewhat more seductive and straightforward than Leen.
Sharlow
Class: Priest |
The adopted son of General Hannibal, and Laylea's brother -- though they don't know it. Replaces Corple if Sylvia didn't have children.
- Fan Nickname: "Fat Shota Sigurd"
- Magikarp Power: He's got slightly better stats than Corpul, specially due to the Elite skill that lets him grow levels faster.
- Man in White
- White Mage
Verdane
Dimaggio
Class: Axe Fighter |
Gerrard
Class: Axe Fighter |
Prince Kinbois of Verdane
Class: Warrior |
- Big Brother Bully: Averted in the Nuts Fujimori manga, as Jamka mentions that Kinbois treated him kindly when he arrived to the Verdane court.
- Butt Monkey
- Heel Face Turn: The Nuts Fujimori manga has him portrayed as not being deep down a bad guy, and Siglud, noticing this, gives him mercy on the promise he will atone for his sins. Kinbois is genuinely moved and promises. This mercy is important as Jamuka later fights Siglud not only because for his father, but also because he believes, in a misunderstanding, that Siglud has killed his beloved brother Kinbois in battle.
Prince Gandolf of Verdane
Class: Warrior |
- Cain and Abel: He's Jamka's brother.
- Evil Uncle: However a family tree in one of the Fire Emblem books says differently.
- Butt Monkey: His portrayal in the Nuts Fujimori manga.
King Batou of Verdane
Agustria
Lord Eltshan of Nodion (Eltoshan)
Class: Paladin |
- Brother Sister Incest: Rackesis admires him a little too much. And as said before, the Oosawa manga takes their thoughts on each other and amps them Up to Eleven. To the point where they're this close to have sex, but Eltshan ultimately refuses it to not "taint" Rackesis (though they still share a Last Kiss)... and dies shortly afterwards.
- Hair of Gold
- Honor Before Reason and Lawful Stupid: After all of the crap Chagall put him through, he still insists on serving him after thinking it is his duty. Even when Zyne offers his aid to oust Chagall, he still refuses to do so.
- Face Death With Dignity: Even when he was pretty stupid, in the Oosawa manga he managed to say "fuck you" to Chagall when he was about to literally lose his head. It was awesome. And depressing.
- Hot Dad: Of Aless.
- Off With His Head.
- Red Baron: Lion King Eltshan [19].
- Sacrificial Lion
Elliot of Heirhein
Class: Duke Knight |
- Butt Monkey: In Mitsuki Oosawa's manga, where he tries too hard to make Lachesis pay for every time she has put him through shame, ever since they were kids. All of his plots fail spectacularly due to Eltshan's intervention or due to his own stupidity or weakness
- Not surprisingly, it's also his portrayal in Nuts Fujimori's parody-ridden manga.
- Overlord Jr: The son of the villain Boldor. You fight both of them together in his second appearance.
- Unknown Rival: Has a one sided hatred of Eltshan.
- Villainous Crush: On Lachesis.
Phillip
Class: General |
Lord Boldor of Heirhein
Class: General |
Voltz
Class: Forrest Knight |
- Forgotten Fallen Friend: A friend and maybe even mentor of Beowolf who doesn't come with him when he's hired by Siglud.
- Punch Clock Villain
Lord Macbeth of Anphony
Class: General |
- Adipose Rex
- Fat Bastard: His appearance is of a chubby elderly man wearing fancy clothes
- Kick the Dog: Is first seen sending bandits to rob from his own subjects.
- Stout Strength: Despite being obese, he's an armor knight with decent stats.
Lord Clement of Mackily
Class: Bishop |
Zyne
Class: Duke Knight |
- Anti Villain: In Oosawa's manga, where his personality is fleshed out as a very sympathetic and patriotic captain. It makes you feel sorry for him the next time that you face him in the game.
- Died in Your Arms Tonight: Siglud's.
- Eyes Always Shut
- Patriotic Fervor: "Nothing more noble then dying for the motherland"
- Palette Swap: Infamous for the amount of times his portrait was used for other bosses.
- The fanbase goes on to call the rest of the palette swaps as "Harolds" or Harold clones despite Zyne being the first one to use this portrait
- The Men First Again, in Oosawa's manga, he makes his men stand back to confront Siglud alone in a duel, so that they may keep on living.
King Chagall of Agustria (Shagall)
Class: Baron |
- The Evil Prince
- Self Made Orphan: Manfroy manipulated him into killing his dad for power.
- Smug Snake
- Younger Than They Look: Chagall has a horribly wrinkled face for someone his age.
Jacoban
Class: Forrest |
Thracia First Generation
King Trabant of Thracia
Class: Dragon Master |
- Bad Boss: Kidnaps the kid of his own General due to the worry he'd turn traitor.
- Dragon Rider: His Dragon is pure black in the battle animations.
- Heel Realization: In Thracia 776``, Trabant says he's aware that his crimes have damned him to hell, but it'll be worth it if it moves Thracia out of its Crapsack World status.
"My wish is to rebuild Thracia into that prosperous nation that Dain and Noba created. ...And if that process dooms me to Hell, then so be it.” |
- Stalker With a Crush/ Villainous Crush: To Ethlin. It's... really not clear.
- Tall Dark and Snarky
- Well Intentioned Extremist: He'll do absolutely anything to save his beloved Thracia, which has gone through horribly hard times. By anything, we mean: first, he betrays and kills Cuan and Ethlin in the worst and cruelest way possible, taking their daughter Altenna hostage to raise her on his own so she can use the Gaebolg sacred lance for him; and 17 years later, he uses poor Corpul/Sharlow as a hostage to force Hannibal to work for him.
- You Killed My Parents: From Leaf and Altenna.
Papilon
Class: Dragon Knight |
- Palette Swap: Of Zyne.
Magorn
Class: Dragon Master |
- Palette Swap: Yep, Zyne again.
- Just Following Orders: His boss quote
Thracia Second Generation
Prince Areone of Thracia
Class: Dragon Master |
- Blade On a Stick: The Gungnir
- Anti Villain: Very kind and gentle, but he happens to be Trabant's son and heir as well as a powerful enemy thanks to the Gungnir.
- Arranged Marriage: Revealed to be engaged Linoan in Thracia 776.
- Dragon Rider: His mount is Pitch Black like his father
- Mad Dictator's Handsome Son: It's even pointed out by a villager that he's much nicer than his father Trabant.
- My Country Right or Wrong
- Star Crossed Lovers: He and Altenna. Though she can recruit him in the Final Chapter, albeit as an allied unit rather than a player unit.
- Tall Dark and Handsome
Kanatz
Class: General |
- Anti Villain: He's a friend of Hannibal and is only fighting because he doesn't want Hannibal's son to die
- Palette Swap: Of Phillip
- What Happened to The Mouse: If Celice rescues Corpul/Sharlow and recruits Hannibal without killing Kanatz, he'll just disappear.
Orgahill Pirates
Dobarl (Duvall)
Class: Warrior |
- Pirate: A Type 1 which is why he betrays Briggid.
- Rape Pillage and Burn: Is annoyed that Briggid won't let him loot villiages and does it behind her back anyway.
- Straw Misogynist: Doesn't like being under the orders of Briggid. Though this might be less about Briggid being a woman and more about her not letting him be a Type 1 Pirate
- Smug Snake
Pizarl
Class: Warrior |
- Pirate: Type 1
Silesia
Queen Rahna of Silesia (Lahna)
- Determined Widow: Does what's in her hands to keep Silesia stable after losing her husband/Levn's dad (and the one with major Holsety blood).
- Hot Mom: Despite not being as young as the other moms in the story, she looks quite fine.
- The High Queen
- Palette Swap: Curiously, of the Lady of the Lake in Lex's Honest Axe incident.
- Reasonable Authority Figure
Mahnya
Class: Falcon Knight |
- The Ace: Female example.
- Cool Big Sis: To Ferry
- Lady of War
- Sacrificial Lamb
- Woman in White
- You Monster: To Pamela
Maios
Class: Baron |
- Evil Uncle: To Levn
- Palette Swap: Strangely of... Elliot.
Deet'var (Deetver, Dietova)
Class: Falcon Knight |
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Is less creepy looking in artwork.
- Dark Action Girl
- Face Heel Turn
- Hot Mom: She has a child, Misha. Said child appears as a recruitable character in Thracia. Though ingame, she's more creepy looking then attractive.
- What Have I Done: Her Famous Last Words.
- Woman in White.
Cuvuli
Class: Bishop |
Daccar
Class: Baron |
- Ambition Is Evil: According to the Oosawa manga, since Rahna says he wasn't an asshole from the start.
- Cain and Abel: He says that he does this also outta revenge against his brother aka Levin's father.
- Evil Uncle: To Levn
- Kick the Dog: Slapping Pamela in the manga, since she's a sympathetic Anti Villain there.
- Palette Swap: Of Baldor
Pamela
Class: Falcon Knight |
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Just like Deet'var. Even more in the Oosawa manga, where she's actually drawn different from Deetvar via getting a Boyish Short Hair.
- Ambition Is Evil: As soon as Rahna's position was seriously threatened, Pamela betrayed her in hopes of becoming the top Falcoknight. She openly admits it when she kills Mahnya.
- Always Someone Better: The Oosawa manga adds this as her other motivation, having her tell Fury that she never could surpass Mahnya in life, and asking her to kill her.
- Antagonist in Mourning: In the Oosawa manga. To the point of personally carrying Mahnya's lifeless body to Queen Rahna and giving her Mahnya's Silver Lance instead of taking it for herself.
- Death Seeker: Refers to herself as such as well.
- Anti Villain: In the Oosawa manga, she's given a somewhat more expanded role and a surprisingly sympathetic portrayal. See Antagonist in Mourning
- Ascended Extra: In the Oosawa manga.
- Dark Action Girl
- Face Heel Turn
- Even Evil Has Standards: In the Oosawa manga, she cannot bring herself to desecrate Mahnya's body via cutting her head off and sending her to the enemy, and when Andorey points it out she gets pissed.
- Smug Snake
- The Rival: To Mahyna, and later to Fury in the manga.
- This Cannot Be: Her last words when you kill her are pretty much this.
- Woman in White
Donovan
Class: General |
- Palette Swap: Of Kinbois
- Kick the Dog: Sends his men to kill civillians.
Leimia (Lamia)
Class: Swordmaster |
- Ax Crazy
- Amazon Brigade: Leads one
- Dark Action Girl
- Identical Stranger: Curiously, she looks a LOT like a younger Hilda. And is a Jerkass too.
Grandbell 1st Generation
King Azmur of Grandbell
Holy blood:[20] Naga [Major] |
- Despair Event Horizon After Kurth's death, he is bed-ridden and can barely handle the government. This makes easy for Alvis to manipulate the old man and make everyone believe he is dead.
- Reasonable Authority Figure
Prince Kurth of Grandbell
Holy blood:[21] Naga [Major] |
- The Atoner: Never forgave himself to the deal with Cigyun, so he silently supported her eldest son Alvis when he was too young to properly rule over Velthomer. Alvis never knew about it.
- Celibate Hero: He never married, despite his counselors' nagging, because he still loved Cigyun.
- Disappeared Dad: To Diadora, though he didn't know about her. The Oosawa manga states that not only he did find out, but was was planning to search for Diadora and acknowledge her as his heiress... right before he got killed. In-game, we only know that Diadora was acknowledged, but not if Kurth managed to do it before he died.
- Long Haired Pretty Boy: Older version, though in the Oosawa manga it's paired with Older Than They Look. Seriously, he looks like in his 20's when he's supposed to be at least in his mid/late 30's!
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Was very well-loved by everyone due to his kindness and common sense.
- Sacrificial Lamb
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- Your Cheating Heart: Cigyun cheated on Victor with him. Diadora was born from that, and for worse, it looks like he never knew that he had a daughter. (Except for the manga)
Lord Vylon of Chalphy (Byron)
Class: Master Knight |
- Almost Dead Guy: Survives just long enough to deliver the Tyrhung to his son Siglud.
- Cool Old Guy
- Disappeared Dad
- Sacrificial Lion
- Vitriolic Best Buds: In the Oosawa manga, with Ring. Eagerly and amusingly lampshaded.
Ring: Look what you've done! Because you said sopmething innecessary, the Prince is now depressed! |
Lord Ring of Jungby
Holy blood:[23] Ulir [Major] |
- Ascended Extra: In the Oosawa manga he got some more development. Still not enough to avoid his death.
- Gory Discretion Shot: Toyed with in the Oosawa manga. We do see his death... but it's from Vylon and Kurth's POV, meaning that we only see his back and some blood as he gets an arrow to the throat.
- Informed Ability: As major Ulir, he's supposed to be a good archer, yet Adean has the Ichii-bal so she can give it to Briggid and he gets killed off-screen (or not, in the manga) by his own son Andorey.
- Overprotective Dad: In the Oosawa manga, Ring mistakenly thinks that Siglud married Adean. He comically freaks out at the thought.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Specially in the single scene in the Oosawa manga, which has him discussing Kurth's plans to search for his heir/heiress with Vylon and Kurth. And then It Gets Worse.
- Tenchi Solution: He either had two different wives or an official wife alongside a mistress, since Briggid and Adean have a different mother than Andorey.
- It's also possible he remarried Andorey's mom after Briggid and Adean's mom died.
Lord Victor of Velthomer (Viktor)
Holy blood:[24] Fala [Major] |
- Casanova
- Disappeared Dad: To Alvis (and Azel)
- Evil Redhead
- Jerkass
- Spurned Into Suicide (When Cigyun cheated on him, he was so humiliated that he wrote a letter denouncing her and her lover and either hung himself - game- or drank poison/stabbed himself - Oosawa manga-).
Lord Alvis of Velthomer (Arvis)
Class: Sage / Emperor |
- Aloof Big Brother: But he won't hesitate to tell Siglud how much Azel means to him.
- Anti Villain: Again, arguably.
- Big Bad Wannabe
- Break the Haughty: To the point where it ages him horribly
- Brother Sister Incest: Had twin kids with his memory-wiped younger half-sister, Diadora. He at first didn't know she was his sister, and when he learned the truth, he still was so in love with her that he decided it didn't matter anymore.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Hates the child hunts so much that he comes up with a Batman Gambit to thwart them with Ishtar's help.
- Evil Redhead
- He Man Woman Hater: Was this in his past, due to his Jerkass father's philandering and his mom Cigyun's disappearance. When this happened, young Alvis had all of his dad's mistresses kicked out of the Velthomer court save for Azel's mother, and except for Aida he became very bitter towards ladies. Until Diadora came along, that is.
- I Have Your Wife: Literally does this, unknowingly or not, to Siglud right before he murders him in cold blood.
- Jerkass Woobie: It's not clear how Woobie-licious he is, but it's undeniable that the man's life sucked balls ever since he was a child.
- His portrayal in the Oosawa manga is quite sympathetic too. Read chapters 8 and 11 to see how.
- Magic Knight
- Oedipus Complex: Once you learn his backstory... holy crap. He's even strongly hinted to have killed people for mentioning what happened to Cigyun.
- Playing With Fire: Falaflame, his magical tome.
- Promotion to Parent: At seven years old, even. When Victor died or better said, killed himself, he took baby Azel under his wing as soon as he saw him.
- Well Intentioned Extremist: He possibly would have managed to truly unify Grandbell, or at least have Velthomer take the lead spot for the greater good, if not for Manfroy's manipulations finally turning his Empire into a tyranny.
- Yandere: Arguably, for Diadora. That would certainly explain why he brought her Brainwashed and Crazy self to Siglud's presence to show off how she was his wife now, before killing him.
Lady Cigyun of Velthomer
Holy blood:[26] Lopto [Minor] |
- Broken Bird
- Death By Childbirth: Died in the Secret Forest when giving birth to poor Diadora.
- Girl in The Tower: More exactly, Girl In The Forest, due to her Loptous/Maira heritage.
- Good Adultery Bad Adultery. Victor cheats on her repeteadly and is shown as a terrible guy (the fact that he apparently raped Cigyun's favorite maid when drunk doesn't help). Cigyun cheats on him with Kurth only because she's The Woobie and emotionally weakened after finding out about said maid being pregnant and sent away.
- Missing Mom: To Alvis and Diadora
- White Haired Pretty Girl
Duke Langobalt of Dozel (Langbart)
Class: Baron |
- Ambition Is Evil
- An Axe to Grind: The Swanchika
- Archnemesis Dad: For Lex, who will express regret that it's come to this.
- Beard of Evil
- Even Evil Has Standards: Expresses disgust at Andorey's killing of his own father, since Langobalt actually respected Ring.
- Evil Old Folks
- Smug Snake
Duke Reptor of Freege (Leptor)
Class: Baron |
- Ambition Is Evil - Evil Chancellor: He already had a very high position in the Empire, but wanted more than that.
Reptor (to Siglud): "Hmph, you idiot! Politics is all about power! Your father had no power, which is why he died." |
- Archnemesis Dad: For Tailto and Ethnia. In fact, he's one of the few who can scare the living SHIT out of the usually fearless Tailto.
- Evil Old Folks
- High Class Glass
- Psycho Electro: The Thor Hammer tome that Bloom and Ishtar wield? It's originally his weapon.
Duke Andorey of Jungby (Andre, Andrei)
Class: Bow Knight |
- Adaptational Attractiveness: He isn't that ugly in-game, but is more of a Long Haired Pretty Boy in official art.
- Similarly, in the Oosawa manga he's a straight up case of Dude Looks Like a Lady / Long Haired Pretty Boy.
- Ambition Is Evil: His ambition to rule Jungby
- Cain and Abel: Briggid and Adean's evil younger brother.
- Horse Archer
- Politically Incorrect Villain: Is made a Token Misogynist in the manga, specially when he mocks what remains of Pamela's honor and openly tells her that women are only there to physically pleasure men.
- Self Made Orphan: Killed his own father for power. Not even his fellow conspirators liked that.
- Smug Snake
- Used to Be A Sweet Kid: According to Briggid, in the Oosawa manga.
Briggid: When I delve into my memories of him, I see him smiling like a little angel... So why would he do such a thing like killing our father to take over as the head of the family? |
Slaydar
Class: Great Knight |
Vaha
Class: Mage Fighter |
Aida
Class: Mage Fighter |
- Evil Redhead: Not really, she seems to be a decent person... who happens to work for Alvis and be his Number Two.
- Hot Mom: Of Alvis's Heroic Bastard, Cyas.
- Lady of Black Magic
- Womanin Black
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: To Reptor.
Princess Ethnia of Freege.
Holy blood:[30] Tordo [Minor] |
- Dead Little Sister (for Tailto and Bloom.)
- Hair Decorations: In the only avaliable portrait of her, she wears a red headband.
- Hot Mom: Of Amid and Linda
- Names the Same: With the Queen of Alster, Miranda's deceased mother. It's been speculated that they may have been intended to be the same person, but the 20th Anniversary book doesn't seem to support it.
- The Ojou
King Mannanan of Isaac
Holy blood:[31] Odo [Major] |
- Disappeared Dad: To Mariccle and Ira.
- Out Gambitted: He tried to prove himself as "loyal" to Grandbell by conquering Rivough, then offering the head of its ruler (his own son-in-law, also Galzus's father and Mareeta's grandfather) as "proof". He only got to get himself executed by Manfroy and Reptor.
- Posthumous Character
- Warrior Prince
Crown Prince Mariccle of Isaac
Holy blood:[32] Odo [Major] |
- Hot Dad: To Shanan. Who looks EXACTLY like him when he grows up.
- Disappeared Dad: This, too.
- Posthumous Character
- Tall Dark and Handsome
- Warrior Prince
- You Killed My Father: To Grandbell in general, after Mannanan's execution. Really, really goes bad for him. Fortunately, Mariccle was Genre Savvy enough to tell his younger sister Ira to take little Shanan and leave the realm before taking off...
Lady Grahnye of Nodion
- Derailing Love Interests: The Oosawa manga, instead of featuring her, uses an Expy named Iria. And it's clear that Oosawa really hates said expy, as she's portrayed as a Rich Bitch who loathes Lachesis and acts like a Clingy Jealous Girl when around Eltshan. Since Oosawa ships Eltshan/Rackesis, well...
- Hot Mom: Of Aless. Here she is, ladies and gentlemen
- Missing Mom
- Princesses Prefer Pink
- The Ojou
- Posthumous Character: We only see her in one illustration, but never in the game. According to Aless, Grahnye was killed when Lenster was invaded.
- What Could Have Been: Apparently Rackesis was originally going to be the mother of Aless…..
Grandbell 2nd Generation
Duke Bloom of Freege (Bloome, Blume)
Class: Baron |
- Drop the Hammer and Psycho Electro: His weapon is called Thor Hammer and it's a Thunder spell.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Doesn't like the child hunts, even when he doesn't protest about them.
- Pet the Dog: Does care for Teeny (or Linda), though he is controlling towards her.
- Unholy Matrimony: With Hilda. Infact, he and Alvis are the only badguys whose wives are seen.
Duchess Hilda of Freege
Class: Queen |
- Complete Monster: In-universe. Aside of her brutal torture of Tailto & Teeny or Ethnia & Linda, when you try liberating one of the villages in the map she's in, this exchange pops up...
That Queen Hilda of Chronos is wicked to the core. She began abducting kids after allying with this dark bishop. She kills the mothers, too, without a blink of an eye! That woman's not even human. I'd say she's more like a devil! |
- Dark Action Mom: More exactly, a very powerful Lady of Black Magic.
- Evil Matriarch
- Kick the Dog: It's mentioned in the intro of Chapter 10 that she drove numerous citizens to "hideously cruel" deaths. Meaning Tailto/Ethnia wasn't the only person she tortured to death. In addition, she heartilly supports the Child Hunts.
- Playing With Fire: Her tome, Bolganone.
- Glass Cannon: Very strong Lady of Black Magic -- with a very heavy fire tome.
- Smug Snake
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
- Unholy Matrimony: With Blume. And she wants Ishtar to follow her example by marrying Yurius, though Ishtar truly loves the Prince and shows hesitation about the deal.
Princess Ishtar of Freege
Class: Sage |
- Anti Villain
- Broken Bird
- Cool Big Sis: To Teeny
- Dark Mistress: She's not really evil but her love for Yurius and loyalty to her family make her a foe.
- Gold Digger: What Hilda wants for her, in regards to Yurius. Sine she does like Yurius for more than his power, she's not very convinced.
Hilda: Ishtar, you listen up! We Freeges are of noble rank within Grandbell. And I'm originally from Velthomer, just as the Imperial family is. Who could possibly make a more worthy partner for His Highness than yourself!? |
- Lady of Black Magic
- Love Martyr: To Yurius
- Morality Pet: Subverted, as Yurius is a little nicer to her but it's not enough to redeem him.
- Punch Clock Villain
- Red Baron: "Goddess of Thunder"
- Shock and Awe: The Thor Hammer
- Womanin Black: In some artwork, her blue dress is black. She's an aversion personality-wise, tho.
- White Haired Pretty Girl: Though in some TCG cards, her hair is more lilac.
- You Killed My Father: And brother and mother, too. She tries doing this to Celice and the Liberation Army, but obviously fails because she was on the wrong side anyway.
- Zettai Ryouiki: Of the "long dress with huge slits, long boots/stockings" variety.
Prince Ishtore of Freege (Ishtor)
Class: Mage Fighter |
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Is ruddy and plain looking ingame but a White Haired Pretty Boy in his artpiece.
- YMMV, as his in-game portrait looks nice except for the horrible Eighties Hair. Who is he, Benimaru Nikaido?
- Anti Villain
- Eyes Always Shut: His ingame appearance.
- Magic Knight
- Punch Clock Villain
- Shock and Awe
Liza
Class: Thunder Mage |
- Anti Villain
- Names the Same: With Marth's mom and Sasha's mom
- Palette Swap: Of Aida
- Shock and Awe
- The Strategist
Meng, Maybell and Bleg
Class: Falcon Knight |
- Dark Action Girls
- Palette Swap: Of Pamela and Deet'var.
- Quirky Miniboss Squad
Fetra, Eliu and Vampa
Class: Wind Mage, Thunder Mage and Fire Mage respectively |
- Black Mage
- Blow You Away: Fetra (Elwind)
- Palette Swap: Of Pamela and De'etvar, again.
- Playing With Fire: Vampa (Elfire)
- Psycho Electro: Eliu (Elthunder)
- Quirky Miniboss Squad
Ovo
Class: Mage Knight |
- Anime Hair: Duuuuuude, what's up with that fop of hair?!
- Magic Knight
- Martial Arts Headband
Prince Burian of Dozel
Class: Master Knight |
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Burian's ingame portrait is aged and hideous but his cardgame has him looking his age.
- An Axe to Grind: He uses the legendary Swanchika axe.
- Anti Villain: Implied to be such.
- Avenging the Villain: Wants to avenge his family members slain in the feud between Chalpy and Dozel.
- Cain and Abel: His desire to uphold family honor puts him conflict with Johan or Johalva.
- Lightning Bruiser: Though the extremely heavy Swanchika axe weighs him down a ton.
- My Country Right or Wrong: Wonders if he was fighting for the right side before dying.
Burian: The Swanchika was defeated so easily!? Was I on the right side...? |
- Younger Than They Look: His ingame portrait looks like an old man, when in fact he's not likely to be past late 20's/very early 30's.
- You Killed My Father: Uses this line:
Burian: “You're the person that killed my father... It's time to end this grudge that has plagued the House of Dozel for 3 generations!” |
Duke Scopio of Jungby (Scorpio)
Class: Master Knight |
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Just like his dad and Ishtore, he isn't that ugly in game but he's handsomer in art. And unlike in-game also actually looks different from Andorey in the aforementioned art.
- Avenging the Villain: His dad asks him to do it at his death and Scorpio intends to do just that.
- Horse Archer
- Overlord Jr: The evil son of Andorey
- Generation Xerox: Scorpio's personality is pretty much exactly the same as Andorey. Which makes one wonder how, as Andorey died way too early to have raised him much.
- Palette Swap: C'mon, they even have the same in-game portrait!
- Generation Xerox: Scorpio's personality is pretty much exactly the same as Andorey. Which makes one wonder how, as Andorey died way too early to have raised him much.
- Smug Snake
Prince Yurius of Velthomer (Julius)
Class: Dark Prince |
- A Child Shall Lead Them: One of the rare villainous examples.
- Brainwashed and Crazy
- Cain and Abel: with Yuria and Celice
- Evil Redhead
- Facial Markings: Has the mark of Loptous in his forehead and shows it proudly
- Final Boss
- Ill Boy: In Thracia 776, a conversation between Ishtar and Cyas mentions that he has "never been strong", and his health has apparently gotten worse after he was possessed by Lopto.
- Pet the Dog: Is somewhat nice, if controlling, to Ishtar. One of his first apparitions is pulling a Big Damn Heroes (well, big damn villains) when she's defeated for the first time.
- Self Made Orphan: Killed his mother Diadora and tried to kill his sister Yuria after being given the Lopto tome. Diadora, however, managed to spirit Yuria away before dying at his hand.
- Soul Jar: For Loptous
- Teen Genius
- The Dragon: To Manfroy.
- Dragon in Chief: However, he's a much larger threat than Manfroy and is the Final Boss.
- Yandere For his girlfriend Ishtar, since he tells her in Thracia that he hates how Reinhardt looks at her and threatens to kill him if he appears in front of them again.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Tells this almost word by word to his own mom before killing her.
Bramsel
Class: General |
- Attempted Rape: He throws Leen/Laylea to the dungeon when she refuses his advances. It's strongly implied that he succeeded at it or something similar, as Jabarro seems pleased when he tells Aless that Leen/Laylea is at his mercy and Aless, until then very cool and Badass, is openly terrified for the poor girl)
- Dirty Old Man: poor Leen and/or Laylea
Leen/Laylea: Look at you acting so tough now that Aless isn't around! You sick old man! |
- Mighty Glacier
- Palette Swap: Of Clement. Unique in that all other users of that portrait are magic users, while Bramsel is a General.
- Smug Snake
Jabarro
Class: Forrest Knight |
- Broken Pedestal: To Aless, and how.
- The Dragon: To Bramsel
- He Man Woman Hater: Though maybe its just romantic relationships.
- Hot Dad: Looks fairly young
- Parental Substitute: To Aless, having raised him after his mom Grahnye perished.
- Palette Swap: Of Jacoban
Lopto Sect
Manfroy (Manfloy)
Class: Dark Bishop |
- Blackmail: How he started to get to Alvis's head, via manipulating him due to his Lopto heritage, since the people of Lopto blood are all hated and instantly condemned to execution
- Big Bad: But not the final boss.
- Evil Old Folks
- Dark Is Evil: Plays it very straight.
- Parental Marriage Veto: His daughter married a Nice Guy against Manfloy's wishes. Manfloy killed the poor man. No wonder his granddaughter Sara hates him.
- The Corrupter
- The Chessmaster / The Man Behind the Man: Pretty much sets up all of the game's events. It must be noted that he is shown pretty early in the game.
Sandima
Class: Dark Mage |
- Dark Is Evil
- Hidden Eyes
- Poisoned Weapons: FENRIR.
- The Man Behind the Man: Convinced Batou to invade Grandbell and made the Princes of Verdane into his pawns. Though in a subversion, he takes orders from Manfroy.
- Smug Snake
The Twelve Crusaders
The twelve fighters that went through blood rites with the Dragon Tribe in what's know as the Miracle of Darna, then fought and eventually overthrew the Lopto Empire during the Gran Calender Years 632-648. Each of them has a weapon infused with the power of a certain member of the Dragon Tribe, and only the crusader who wielded their weapon and their descendants with major holy blood can wield them. Also, each Crusader has a holy blood line named after them (Except Heim, whose holy blood line is called Naga).
Baldo the Holy Knight (Chalphy)
Likely class: Paladin |
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Tyrhung
- Knight in Shining Armor: Most likely.
- Red Baron: "Crusader of Light"
- Mage Killer: Tyrhung gives its user high magic defense.
- Spell My Name With an S: His sword. Is it Tyrhung, Tyrfing, or Tailfing?
Saint Heim (Grandbell and Barhara)
Likely class: Sage |
- Badass Beard
- Church Militant: Him and Blaggi, though he was even more proactive.
- Facial Markings: One on his forehead. Diadora has it too (and covers it with her circlet), which is what proves her Naga heritage in-story.
- Holy Hand Grenade and Light Em Up: Naga, his tome
- Red Baron: "Saint Heim"
Hezul the Black Knight (Augustria)
Likely class: Paladin |
- Big Screwed Up Family: His descendants, both the Royal House of Augustria and the Nodion family. More exactly: Hezul's youngest daughter, the one who inherited the major Hezul blood, married a Nodion nobleman. The Nodions are the ones with major Hezul blood and not the Augustrians, who either only have minor or nothing at all (like in Chagall's case). This is the basis for many, many of Eltshan and Rackesis's troubles later.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Mystletainn
- Red Baron: "Black Knight"
- Spell My Name With an S: Or better said, his sword's name. Mistoltin? Mistolteen? Mistilteinn? Mystletainn? Some alternate spelling of any of these?
Ulir the Bow User (Jungby)
Likely class: Sniper |
- Ambiguous Gender: We don't know if they're a lady or a gentleman.
- Action Girl - Lady of War: If they are female.
- The Archer: Ichii-bal
- Born Lucky: People with Ulir blood tend to have the highest Luck growth bonuses in-game (a whooping case of 30%, alongside the charas's natural growths). In-story this is pretty much a legend in Jugdral, which is invoked by the Genre Savvy Adean in the Oosawa manga.
- Red Baron: "Bow User"
- Spell My Name With an S: Ichival? Ichaival? Ichii-bal?
Noba the Lance Knight (Lester) (Nova)
Likely class: Duke Knight |
- Action Girl
- Blade On a Stick: Gae Bolg
- Break the Cutie: Noba was Happily Married to a Thracian knight, who doubled as Number Two to Dain. Some time after the war she tried to stop a fight between them, but accidentally killed her hubby in what's known as The Tragedy of Gae Bolg...
- Kill the Cutie: She's Driven to Suicide afterwards.
- Brother Sister Team: With her brother Dain
- Cain and Abel: Their descendants.
- Lady of War
- Martial Arts Headband
- Red Baron: "Lance Knight"
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
Dain the Dragon Knight (Thracia)
Likely class: Dragon Master |
- Badass Long Hair
- Blade On a Stick: Gungnir
- Brother Sister Team: With his sister Noba.
- Cain and Abel: Their descendants.
- Dragon Rider
- Martial Arts Headband
- Red Baron: "Dragon Knight"
- Tall Dark and Handsome
Sety the Wind User (Silesia)
Likely class: Sage |
- Blow You Away: Holsety
- Game Breaker: Which is considered to be the best weapon in the game.
- Peek a Bangs
- Red Baron: "Wind User"
- Tall Dark and Handsome
Tordo the Mage Knight (Freege)
Likely class: Mage Knight |
- Generation Xerox: Subverted: Reinhardt is said to be like his second coming and to look a lot like him... but he's not of Tordo blood, since he only works as a highranked commander for the Freeges.
- Magic Knight
- Red Baron: "Mage Knight"
- Shock and Awe: Thor Hammer
- White Haired Pretty Boy: His silvery hair becomes a distinguishing physical trait among the Freeges, with Ethnia (brunette) and her children Amid (green hair) and Linda (brunette too) as his only not silver-haired descendants.
Fala the Mage Fighter (Velthomer)
Likely class: Mage Fighter |
- Lady of Black Magic - Magic Knight
- Playing With Fire: Falaflame
- Red Baron: "Mage Fighter"
- Tall Dark and Bishoujo
Neir the Axe Fighter (Dozel)
Likely class: Warrior |
- Always Someone Better: All his ingame descendants are overshadowed by Tordo's: Langobalt, by Reptor; Danan, by Bloom; Burian, by Ishtar, etc.
- An Axe to Grind: Swanchika
- Big Frickin Axe: The aforementioned Swanchika is the heaviest weapon in Fire Emblem history! And it hits from two spaces away! But it also shows the downside of this trope as it heavily slows down its user, who will have little chance of landing a hit on speedy Balmung users.
- Red Baron: "Axe Knight"
Odo the Sword Saint (Isaac)
Likely class: Swordmaster |
- Badass Long Hair
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Balmunc
- Red Baron: "Sword Saint"
- Tall Dark and Handsome
Blaggi the Arch Bishop (Edda)
Likely class: Bishop |
- Church Militant
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Whoever uses the Blaggi Sword, blessed by him.
- Red Baron: "Arch Bishop"
- The Messiah: Actually sympathetic to the people of the Lopto Church, as some of them helped raise him.
- Sole Survivor: Of the Saint Maira priests, all slain after the sacred wars. He built the Tower of Blaggi to honor them, but after his death its purpose was forgotten.
- White Haired Pretty Boy
- White Mage
Lopto Empire
Emperor Galle
- Dark Is Evil
- Face Heel Turn
- The Emperor
- Religion of Evil: Founds the Lopto Empire and Cult.
- Sinister Minister
- Names the Same: With Gale from Sword of Seals and 17 Emperors of the Lopto Empire.
Saint Maira
- Cain and Abel: With his older brother, one of the Galle Emperors.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Tried to Take a Third Option by having people worship Loptous willingly, and not as an evil God but as a savior. It didn't work.
- The Messiah
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.
Dragon Tribe
Loptous (Loputousu)
- Bigger Bad
- Cain and Abel: With the other Dragons, and especially Naga and Holsety.
- God of Evil: Regarded as such.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Of Medeus from Fire Emblem Akaneia. Word of God says the Jugdral games occur in the same universe as Akaneia, but 1000 years prior. Meaning they're most likely of the same tribe.
Holsety (Forsety)
Class: Sage (shown as one in the attract mode) |
- Blow You Away: Holsety, the wind tome he created for Crusader Sety and his descendants's use.
- Empathic Weapon: To a degree. Holsety himself was the youngest and most Hot Blooded of the Dragons, so he put a lot of his own power and love for humanity in the tome and this is why not only the spellbook is so powerful and has his name, but one of the reasons why the Holsety users "inherit Holsety's will as well as his power.".
- God Is Good: As said above, he genuinely loves humanity and is among the most sympathetic to their plight.
- Names the Same: . . . See above.
- Soul Jar: Uses Prince Levn as one. It's not clear for how long this has been going on: some sources say it happened as soon as Rahna gave Levn the Holsety, others say it happened after Barhara. In the Oosawa manga, it's hinted that Holsety's spirit can speak to Levn through the tome and he does it for the first time when Fury gives him the Holsety, which Rahna manages to give her; it's not explained, though, if Holsety fully takes control of Levn's body in that moment or not.
- Voluntary Shapeshifter: Took a human form to contact the Twelve Crusaders, alongside his Dragon siblings.
Naga (Narga)
For Naga's tropes, see his section here.
Salamander
- God Is Good
- Playing With Fire: Falaflame, which he gave to the Magic Knight Fala.
- Voluntary Shapeshifter: Also took a human form, but as an old man.
