• Greg Eagles
  • In the American version of Metal Gear Solid, Greg Eagles voices Peter Stillman, the DARPA chief, and Gray Fox - all with almost exactly the same voice. In the remake, Gray Fox got a new voice actor. The Japanese version did this for effect, casting three out of four clones with the same voice actor and casting the remaining clone as a voice actor who was often a 'stand-in' for the other actor, the idea being that the voice sounded the same but ever so slightly off.
  • He was also the Grim Reaper.
    • This Troper cannot listen to Aku Aku from the newer Crash Bandicoot games without thinking of ol' Grim.
  • Previous to that, he voiced another, more obscure character with a Jamaican accent: Captain Bob from HBO Family's Crashbox.
  • He's also Garcian Smith and Chattur'gha.
  • And before all of these, he was Taurus in Interstate '76 (and the sequel).

• David Eccles
  • In one episode of The Wild Thornberrys, Eliza talks to a hippo that sounds exactly like Krumm.

• Susan Egan
  • For quite a while, whenever Disney needed a young female Deadpan Snarker, they turned to Susan Egan (for instance, as Meg in Hercules, and Lin in Spirited Away).

• Paul Eiding
  • I love replaying Diablo, so I can hear Colonel Campbell narrate it.
  • He's also Grampa Max in Ben 10. Turn off the console indeed.
  • This led to an odd moment in one episode which I am not sure was intentional or just very unfortunate and terrifying coincidence. It's an episode where Ben and Gwen go into a video game, and Grandpa Max, noticing that the console is on and the kids are absent, says, in an unusually deep and authoritative voice, "I thought I told you to turn the game console off!" Aaaagh!
    • It probably was intentional, considering the same director (Kris Zimmerman) handled both the Metal Gear Solid dubs and Ben 10.
    • Which would explain his line in the last episode of season 2 as Gwen ran into trouble in the Null Void: "Gwen, what's going on? GWEN!"

  • He also voiced a character in Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage for the Dreamcast.
    • He also plays Executor Aldaris in Starcraft, Mephisto in Diablo 2, The first Zeus in God of War, and Kang the Mad in Jade Empire amonst a myriad of other voice roles.
  • He plays almost every single elderly man in Fallout 3, using the exact same voice for all of them. Hearing that very same voice being used for Dock/Shu/Bushi in the Avatar: The Last Airbender episode "The Painted Lady" brought up flashbacks of Nathan, Evan King, Abraham Washington, Comrade Cheng, Old Man Harris....
  • He plays Nikola Tesla in Dark Void, as well as the Village Priest guy.
  • He has three different roles in No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle—the Narrator, and Ranks 9 and 3 (Million Gunman and Captain Vladimir, respectively).
  • In the third Onimusha game he plays Akechi Mitsuhide, leader of the attack against Oda Nobunaga.

  • He also played the monk Paul Luther in Eternal Darkness, as well as a few minor roles.

• Gideon Emery
  • I had a huge Squee noticing Gideon Emery was a guest star in an episode of CSI: NY. Even though I had no clue what he looked like, and the accent he used was different, he was still instantly recognizable as Balthier.
  • He's also Poseidon, Steve FOX, Lott Dod , Mee Deechi, a few minor characters in Mass Effect, and an ungodly number of characters in Dragon Age: Origins.
  • Speaking of Dragon Age, in the sequel, he was Fenris. In addition to a couple of minor characters (such as ex-templar Samson).
  • He also played an DARPA researcher in badass armor.
  • Hey, what is Fenris doing speaking simlish?
    • Or posing as an Imperial guard, for that matter.

• Aya Endo
  • Best known as class brain Miyuki Takara, the polar opposite of Queen Barbie of Daten City High.
  • Itsuki Kannagi from Sora O Kakeru Shoujo, which was only noticed by this troper after starting to watch Lucky Star.

• Richard Epcar
  • When I heard "Daisuke Jigen" in Lupin III, he thought "Why is Batou of Section 9 hanging out with these crooks?" Richard Epcar voiced both roles in the English dubs, as well as many others.
  • I was shocked to hear Richard Epcar voicing Mr. Noisy on an episode of The Mr. Men Show. Batou is for kids, too!
  • Plays your commanding officer for the first few UEF missions in Supreme Commander. His commanding officer? the Major. It's like being a rookie at Section 9.
  • So, Zangetsu's a detective now?
  • If you go back a bit you'll also realize he was Khyron's aide and Lunk in Robotech. Guy's been in the business quite awhile.
  • Holy shit, Batou went rogue, turned into a White-Haired Pretty Boy, and formed an evil Section 9!
  • He recently became the VA for Raiden. He also voiced The Joker in the Mortal Kombat vs. DC crossover.

• Doug Erholtz
  • Squall is voiced by MetalSeadramon, Angemon and T.K. Also Vega.
  • Don't forget Affably Evil Ichimaru Gin.
  • Speaking of Gin, he also voiced Hazama.

• Bill Fagerbakke
  • Bulkhead from Transformers Animated is played by the same voice actor as Patrick, and it is easy to tell at certain points (especially, in my opinion, when he is screaming).
  • One of the Junkyard Dogs in the sequel for Lady and the Tramp. Even has his personality.
  • He sounds even more like Broadway from Gargoyles.
    • It's Bill Fagerbakke, best known in live action as Dauber from Coach and as Tom Cullen in the movie adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand. He seems to be the guy Hollywood looks to for playing guys who aren't all that bright but are pretty decent.
      • M-O-O-N, that spells MOON.
      • Or scumbag Aryan prison guards, as he did in Oz.
  • It's a brief moment in the film, but the guard who throws the first tomato in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame has the distinct voice of Patrick Star.
  • The same can be said for one of Boss's crew members in Porco Rosso.
  • He was also Marshall Eriksen's father. Too bad he died.

• Dorothy Fahn-Elias
  • Whoa, who knew Kaoru Kamiya and Meryl Stryfe were long lost sisters?
  • ** And for a bigger twist, Richard Cansino played Legato Bluesummers and Kenshin Himura in those respective series; in other words, one tries to kill Dorothy's character while the other marries her.

• Melissa Fahn
  • Gaz is Ed! Ed is Gaz! My mind is blown!
  • Gaz is also Rika.
  • One of the weirdest experiences of my life: seeing Wicked on stage and hearing a familiar voice singing in the chorus. After looking it up, turns out Melissa's ALSO in the chorus on the official cast album.
  • She's also Ninamori from FLCL.
  • She's also in many NISA-localized games as well. Rosita Aries in Sakura Wars: So Long My Love, Neptune in Hyperdimension Neptunia, Felicia in Cross Edge, Et in Mana-Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy, Tyria in Ar Tonelico 3, Tick-Tock in Disgaea Infinite... if they've localized a game, chances are, she'll be in it.

• Kristin Fairlie
  • The crazy psycho chick from Instant Star plays the adorably sweet animal-loving Bridgette on Total Drama, AND her Expy Emma. Of course, the fact that she was also Little Bear back in the late 90s will blow your mind even more.

• Dakota Fanning
  • Who would've guessed that Coraline and Satsuki also happened to be a sadistic vampire? Not me, that's for certain.

• Verna Felton
  • Verna Felton was another Disney voice regular. She played Flora, Aunt Sarah from Lady and the Tramp, The Queen of Hearts, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, Winifred the Elephant, and the snobby lead elephant from Dumbo.

• Keith Ferguson
  • Keith Ferguson may not be the most profilic VA, but he has great range. The proof? Basch Fon Rosenburg and Bloo.
    • He was called to voice Gabranth for Dissidia Final Fantasy, as Michael E. Rogers (his original English voice) was unavailable.
    • Not to mention Kaim Argonon.

• Nathan Fillion
  • Nathan Fillion voices Gao the Lesser in Jade Empire (although it's not like he's done many notable things otherwise).
  • Sergeant Reynolds from Halo 3. Keep him alive until the end of the third mission, and as you reach Voi he says "Looks like we got here just in the nick of time. What do you think that makes us?" Of course, there is only one response: "Big Damn Heroes, sir!"
  • He's also the voice and face of the ODST Squad Leader in Halo 3: ODST.
  • He's also provided voices for the DC Universe animated shows: the Vigilante in episodes of Justice League Unlimited (as well as an uncredited stint as Spy Smasher in the "Patriot Act" episode of the same show), and Steve Trevor in the 2009 animated DVD feature Wonder Woman (wherein the golden lasso of truth causes him to blurt out to Queen Hippolyta and her Amazon guards that Diana has a great rack—awkward!)
  • What do you expect from a guy who refers to his member as a hammer? Awkward doesn't faze him!

  • I was surprised when he suddenly placed the Silver Surfer's voice in the second Fantastic Four movie. Red or blue pill?

  • A smiling face in a robotic body who is programmed to be nice! Very, very nice!

• June Foray
  • Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Natasha Fatale are voiced by the same person as Granny. Wow.
  • And so is Magica DeSpell. And Ma Beagle.
  • And so many others, from the Golden Age of theatrical cartoons to today (she's still working!)

• Sandy Fox
  • Want small, cute, and annoying? Look no further than Sandy Fox. Performs Love Freaks, tiny girls with magical powers, hyper-mobile robot girls, and Small drop-kickable fire-shooting rodents with equal gusto. Her singing voice is no less head-splitting (but pleasant and clear as long as you turn the volume down).

• Crispin Freeman
  • Holland would not be bloodily tearing apart mooks with demonic wolf-headed-tentacles.
  • Or chasing cyber-criminals in futuristic Japan.
  • or eviscerating vampires.
  • He does it again too.
    • Several times.
  • The main difference between them is the tone they take, which varies from angry (Holland), to flat (Kyon), to Extreme Doormat (Haji, Itachi).
  • Not to mention pure sleaze with Touga Kiryuu, Fuuma Monou, and Alucard. Really, it's more scary when imagining Kyon breaking out the Girlycard form.
  • On the other hand, he's also Irresponsible Captain Tylor, and Van Argiano.
  • He also voices Albedo (uncredited, Xenosaga), Albel Nox (Star Ocean 3), and Itachi Uchiha (Naruto). Those three roles alone scare me far more than any of his other roles combined.
  • Albedo isn't the only creepy albino he voices. There is also the dimension-hopping certifiable Badass Karasu, from the anime Noein- he lends his voice to the titular character, as well. Understandable, considering they're... pretty much the same person.
  • Keep in mind that he's also Jeremiah Gottwald; that should defuse the terror a bit.
  • Also, Alan Gabriel and the answering machine from the Cowboy Bebop movie. Yeah, I know.
  • He is also a dream traveling spawn of hags.
  • The Pigeonholed Voice Actor aspect really comes into play when one watches the dubs of Chobits, I My Me! Strawberry Eggs, and Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight in succession.
  • He's also the Smug Snake Sakaki in .hack: GU.
  • He is also Regal, you just don't notice because he doesn't really do anything after a while, and Regal uses a significantly more masculine voice then his other roles.
  • He might also be the bald, badass, sunglasses-wearing member of the Turks while he's at it.
  • Which makes perfect sense, considering This Troper's view of Rude is essentially Zelgadis with shades.
  • Not to mention Super Speed freak Straight Cougar from S-Cry-ed - a performance which I found almost as good as his stuff as Alan Gabriel and Tylor.
  • He's also the Badass Overlord from Makai Kingdom.
  • In addition, he has a role in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War as Captain Hamilton.
  • And he's Tsume of Wolfs Rain as well.

  • Kouichi Kimura and Thomas H. Norstein of Digimon Frontier and Savers/Data Squad, respectively.
  • Hearing Kyon's voice coming out of Hideki's mouth...is an interesting experience.
  • Wait, for the Kyon example: are we talking about Crispin Freeman? Because if you think that's mindboggling get this: Kyon is Itachi!
  • You think that's impressive? Kyon is goddamn Alucard.
  • Will Turner in the games Kingdom Hearts II and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow is...well, who else: Crispin Freeman.
  • And let's not forget Shannon Casull.
  • He had a memorable cameo at the end of Howl's Moving Castle.
  • I had an absolute nerdgasm when I realized Crispin Freeman and Christian Bale were in the same movie together, even if they don't interact and the former has one line.
    • Same for me when I noticed he and Stephen Blum played absolute badasses Heat and Gale together in Digital Devil Saga.
    • And they do so again in Last Exile, which made me do a male-pattern mental Squee.
  • The first time I heard Crispin was in Xenosaga. I wasn't familiar with him at the time, and it was a surprise to me that he was both Nigredo and Albedo. They didn't sound the same to me until I learned they were both Crispin. After watching a few of his anime though, the only time I've not been able to recognize Crispin's voice was when he played Tabool in Now and Then, Here and There. This was a considerably older anime and he was relatively new to the scene back then, so perhaps his voice changed a little. He was also playing a child in that series which is rare, but it's hard to believe that it was his voice.
  • He is utterly and completely incapable of playing a Fake Brit (around the 5 minute mark).
    • And it's hilarious.
    • That is almost verbatim what I said to my friend upon seeing it for the first time.
  • I actually died playing Too Human when I realized that Hideki was Baldur.
  • And if you think all that is awesome, remember Zelgadiss has to sing in the second season. That's right, Alucard/Hideki/Itachi/Kyon sings.
  • This past summer, Crispin took a turn as the paranoid Decepticon Breakdown in Transformers: War for Cybertron. It was fun to hear him constantly freaking out, especially since you get Breakdown for the last three missions of the Decepticon campaign.

• Paul Frees
  • No slouch in the cartoon voice department as well, he was Boris Badenov and Captain Peachfuzz, Yellow Pinkie, John Lennon and George Harrison, and many others.

• Will Friedle
  • Will Friedle, particularly when, in a nod to his work on Batman Beyond, his Boy Meets World character Eric claimed to be Batman.
  • He also provides the voice for Ron Stoppable and ended up becoming the Fearless Ferret in an episode with Adam West voicing his mentor Timothy North.
  • Most recently he played Jaime Reyes who was working with with... Batman.
  • He also played Doyle in Secret Saturdays. Shego is his sister!

• Soleil Moon Frye
  • Punky Brewster was also Mary, the zookeeper in the Johnny Bravo pilot, and she's also been a voice in the Bratz videos.
• Jun Fukuyama
  • Jun Fukuyama will be indefinitely associated with one of the most Magnificent Bastards in the history of anime - Lelouch Lamperouge. Although none of his other roles has so far been FABULOUS enough to match that performance in terms of awesome, but it really hard not to think of Lulu when watching shows like Spice and Wolf and Amatsuki...
  • I first heard Fukuyama as super-uke Ayase from Okane na Gai.* That* screwed up my perception of all his other characters for a while! Even now she can't take Lelouch seriously.
  • Try imagining Lelouch as freaking Onion Knight. Your brain hurts, now, doesn't it?
  • Even when he's not Zero, he still gets a chance to use the "Zero voice". Like with Kei in Special A. Also, between Amatsuki, ×××HOLiC, Rental Magica, and Code Geass - that's a lot of characters with eye problems.
  • Jun Fukuyama uses his "Zero voice" again on a character who doesn't have eye problems in Valkyria Chronicles, with Prince Maximillian.
    • and he gets killed by Suzaku (Takahiro Sakurai) again in Valkyria Chronicles
  • Funnily enough, in the game Tales of Destiny 2, he plays the cheerful, outgoing hero Kyle...despite the fact that the character Judas (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa) both looks and acts like Zero to the letter (though Judas is considerably more moody).
  • And not to mention Hikaru Midorikawa himself is Li Xingke in Code Geass, and on both games Fukuyama's character ALWAYS met an opposition in form of... Norio Wakamoto character (Barbatos and Charles). Not to mention the fact that Xingke, aside from being a Chinese martial artist type, also has a tendency to yell Tianshi's name a lot, not unlike Tamahome.
  • And Sora Kake Girl has Leopard. He is arguably a parody of Lelouch: he's just as much of a Large Ham, but he hasn't really got the Magnificent Bastard thing down.
    • Speaking of Sora Kake Girl, one cannot forget Professor Friedrich Otto Noblemain
  • Don't forget Vincent Nightray, the loveable blonde psycopath from Pandora Hearts!
  • I knows he also voiced Ryan in the Japanese dub of High School Musical.
  • This troper have never heard the voices stated before, but while listening to Tegami Bachi (Letter Bee) she immediately recognized Ayasegawa Yumichika in Gauche Suede.
  • This troper discovered Black Butler not long after finding Code Geass and was pretty delighted to hear Fukuyama as Grell Sutcliff
  • Though it may be a less obvious one, Fukuyama was also cast as Aidou Hanabusa of Vampire Knight, which this troper only noticed after watching Code Geass and Sora O Kakeru Shoujo

• Quinton Flynn
  • Raiden is Quinton Flynn. I wish I could unhear my girlfriend shouting "It's AXEL!"
  • He must really like voicing Evil Minions then, as he voices Scorn from Romancing SaGa.
  • Is it wrong that I imagine Iruka as a cyborg?
  • You really want a kickass reference? In Digimon Data Squad he plays Marcus Damon. Alongside him is Thomas Norstien, played by Crispin Freeman, who uses nearly the exact voice he uses for Itachi except not as deep and hushed. Even more better? Quinton referrence his role as Axel in one episode. "Yeah, I got it memorized right here."
  • He also does the voice of the most popular Turk, Reno in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, which is another organization comprised of all men with the exception of one woman.
    • In fact, Reno and Axel have the same voice actors in both English and Japanese, adding to the theory that Axel is basically an Expy of Reno.

  • Flynn also plays the far more tollerable character, Kael'thas Sunstrider. I am glad that fans of Kael'thas aren't all raving loons, like those of Flynn's other well-known characters.

  • The only real difference between Raiden and Henry is that Henry has an Irish accent.
  • Flynn doesn't just do videogame/anime pyromaniacs (Axel, Deidara, Reno...) But he also shows up a lot on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken.
  • In Star Wars: Empire at War, he does a voice for a certain Imperial unit...hmm, I guess he does do a lot of pyromaniacs...
  • To add to the list of pyromaniacs, he did the voice of Johnny Storm/ the Human Torch of Fantastic Four. Flynn just loves playing with fire...
  • He played a High School shoe obsessed jerk in My Life as a Teenage Robot, and that shocked the HELL out of me because I knew who he was. Seriously, this guy is just an overall AWESOME voice actor.

• Sir Michael Gambon
  • Sir Michael Gambon voices the Big Bad wizard in Ghost Hunter. Currently Sir Michael is playing Albus Dumbledore on the big screen.

• Brad Garrett
  • Voices include Big Dog on Two Stupid Dogs, Lobo in the DCAU, and Mr. Needlemeyer on Nightmare Ned.

• Tessho Genda
  • Tessho Genda is one of the most prolific Japanese voice actors in the business, with over 230 roles to his name. A selection: Optimus Prime, Younger Toguro, The Kyuubi, Kratos, Tigger(!), Sam Fisher, The Terminator (And all of Arnold's roles), Rocky (And all of Stallone's roles), George Costanza(!), Ben Sisko, Mace Windu, Garfield, The Robot, Foghorn Leghorn(!), Inspector Gadget * deep breath* and Batman. In short, Batman and Optimus Prime are the same person.

  • Germain used the same voice for Heloise as she did for Shana.

  • She does several voices (including main character Rarity) in My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.

• Grant George
  • Grant George does both Kilik (in 3 and 4) and Axel.
  • He also does Mid-Boss (who shares Axel's role as Goldfish Poop Gang), but the voice he uses isn't the same.

• Dan Gilvezan
  • Dan took over the Spider-Man role from Ted Schwartz for Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. This was Dan's first voice-acting role.
  • For Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Dan voiced Miguel O'Hara, Spider-Man 2009.
  • He was also known as the ORIGINAL animated Bumblebee (and in part two of "The Return of Optimus Prime" Dan voiced Goldbug, his rebuilt form).
  • He was also Cooler, the canine leader of the Pound Puppies in the original late-1980s version.

• Caitlin Glass
  • I was seriously weirded out when Haruhi started talking; it seems that half of the Fullmetal Alchemist cast was imported over including Winry, but after a while the voices settle down.
  • Take Haruhi's highest vocal pitch, pepper it with SQUEE! and BAM. Miria Harvent from Baccano!.
    • What's even better than that? Take the OTHER straight character from OHSHC, Kyoya Ootori, put a bit of lilt in the voice and BAM. J. Michael Tatum played Isaac Divan. In summary, the two straight characters from OHSHC played the two idiotic yet highly comical characters in Baccano!

• Ron Glass
  • Fable II has Ron Glass, known as the Preacher from Firefly.
  • God, I'm getting old—to me, he will always be Sergeant Harris of the 12th Precinct.

• The Goodies
  • Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie will always be best known as The Goodies, but they also provided the vast majority of male voices in the eighties kids' cartoon series Banana Man.

  • For players of Disgaea that haven't seen Power Rangers, Laharl might connect as Naota. "Aren't you embarrassed to say something like that?" is one of the lines that makes it clearer.
    • For those that have, as well as those that haven't, Ms. Goodson uses the exact same voice for the youthful male Laharl that she used for the older female Rita Repulsa, villain of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. They very well might be using clips of Rita's laughter for Laharl laughing, and you wouldn't be able to tell.
  • She also played another mad sorceress in Magic Knight Rayearth's Alcyone.

• Yūko Gotō
  • When I watched episode 18 of SHUFFLE!, I was freaked out when I realized that Tomokazu Sugita voiced both Kyon and Rin. Cut to a Nightmare Fuel Imagine Spot, where I imagined that Mikuru slashed Kyon's eye with a boxcutter.
  • Same thing in Hayate the Combat Butler: When the Maou Queen showed up, she immediately called Yuko Goto's voice on it. The Once an Episode commercial break lampshaded things even further by giving the Maou Queen that waitress costume, with the fingers over the eye, and the line "Sumeshi Beam!" (Vinegar'd Rice Beam!)
  • Combines with Name's the Same for extra fun, if you want to dig into some of her lesser-known works. Both Mizuiro and Lamune feature a male protagonist named Kenji. In both, Yūko Gotō plays the childhood friend of said male protagonist. In both, she can be heard saying "Ken-chan" frequently... with the exact same tone.

• Gilbert Gottfried
  • If your ears are bleeding, you're probably listening to a character voiced by Gilbert Gottfried. Yes, that's Iago tormenting Superman.

  • Digit was in a bellybutton as an elf named Jerry.

• Alexnander Gould
  • It was bad enough that the adult characters in Finding Nemo were almost all Ink Suit Actors, but now every time This Troper sees little Nemo swimming off so happy on his first day of fish school, he thinks "Hello teachers, parents, step- parents, siblings, boyfriends and girlfriends of parents,.... YOU HAVE FAILED US ALL!!

  • Yeah Asuka seems to sound like a lot like Martel.

• Dan Green
  • While watching the dubbed version of Yami no Matsuei it is almost impossible to take Tsuzuki's attempts at angst seriously when every time he opens his mouth Yami from Yu-Gi-Oh! pops out.
  • Not to mention his singing as Troubadour.
  • Though as Taiga you half-expect him to say something about believing in the heart of the cards.

    • Oddly enough, Yami started off evil in the first arc of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Had it been released in the U.S. and had Green incorporated a laugh similar to the one he gave Mephiles, there's no doubt that there would've been at least one scene that could've been considered Nightmare Fuel.
  • The next time you go to your local ice cream dealer, he might be voiced by Dan Green!
  • He was also Leo in the movie of Jungle Emperor Leo.
  • He was sad when Treecko evolved because he couldn't voice it anymore.

  • Mark Hamill has made a huge career out of voice acting (mainly villains, we all knew Luke was really evil anyway, right?), but if you've been exposed to one of his best known roles, The Joker on Batman the Animated Series, a few of his other roles might not be quite as obvious.
  • Hamill's voice career predates Star Wars. He was Corey Anders on Jeannie and did incidental voice work for other 70's Saturday morning shows. He was also the voice of Seth in Wizards.
  • Hamill, along with Tom Wilson and Malcolm McDowell, also provided the voice for the earlier version of the character he played in Wing Commander III and Wing Commander IV, in the USA Network cartoon series Wing Commander Academy.   • Kamina sounds like Kiba Inuzuka.

• Jim Henson
  • Jim Henson is most known for voicing Kermit the Frog, Rowlf, Waldorf, Dr. Teeth and the Swedish Chef on The Muppet Show, as well as Ernie and Guy Smiley on Sesame Street. Jim continued to voice these characters until his untimely death in 1990. However, in one Claymation animated short on Sesame Street, he provided the voice of the King of Eight.

• Noriko Hidaka
  • When the Inu Yasha anime was being voice-cast in Japan, Noriko Hidaka, who voiced Kikyo, expressed worry that her scream of "Inuyasha!" would sound the same as when she called out to Ranma ½ as Akane.
  • Which says nothing about the fact that Ranma and Inuyasha are voiced by the same person in Japanese and English (Okay, so only seasons 4-7 of Ranma for English, but still).
  • That person is Pietro and the other (the Japanese one) is L
    • While we're talking about L, Noriko Hidaka also voices Near, which is... weird.
  • Noriko also voice two french characters. Jean Roque Raltique and Erica Fontaine.

• Matt Hill
  • Mat was once a guardian beast.
  • Ed from Ed Edd and Eddy is also Booma from Super Duper Sumos.

• Ali Hillis
  • Aside from one being slightly deeper than the other, this troper was half expecting Liara T'Soni to call Shepard "Little Master" at some point (that is to say, she also voices both Godwin Sisters in Xenosaga in Episodes 2 and 3, though Shelley is the Liara sounding one).
  • Also can be heard as Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII.

• Skip Hinnant
  • Many people who grew up watching The Electric Company were pretty shocked when they found out that cast member Skip Hinnant was the voice of Fritz the Cat. However, people who saw Fritz The Cat first may be surprised to hear him as the voice of Pogo in Pogo For President and The Easter Bunny in The Easter Bunny Is Coming To Town. Not to mention countless commercial voiceovers and appearances in the 80s and 90s. His last IMDB credit is the shoe salesman in an animated adaptation of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day... from 1989.
  • He also originated the role of Schroeder in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown...

• Aya Hirano
  • Though her voice work tends to change significantly depending on the anime, she will be forever recognized as the Voice of God. Even though both Haruhi and Konata were rather unusual ways of acting for her. And by usual This Troper means how she plays Lumiere, Chiko, and other similar roles.
  • The poetic justice when Etoh Mai was forcibly undressed left me laughing uncontrollably.

• Ryo Hirohashi
  • Whenever Tamaki from Bamboo Blade speaks, I expect Akari and Aika from Aria to join her, oars in hand. The deadpan delivery of her lines is just exactly the same as that of Alice Carroll, courtesy of Ryou Hirohashi.
  • If you want to hear what she sounds like with emotion, watch Haibane Renmei; her first voice-acting role for an anime was Rakka. She also did Kim Aba from Area 88 and Fujibayashi Kyou from Clannad.

• Nobuyuki Hiyama
  • Nobuyuki Hiyama has a habit of cropping up in excessive manly roles, as the Japanese VA for Guy Shishioh, Madarame Ikkaku, and Viral. And that's just his anime roles. Chances are, if you see a Screaming Warrior in an anime and can picture any of the above 3 saying it with no change in voice what-so-ever, it's probably Nobuyuki Hiyama doing the voice work.
  • Ocarina of Time adult Link. Yes. (Or should I say, "Yaaaaaagh!")
  • The fact that Link's VA also did Siegfried Schtauffen was rather obvious in the trailer for Soul Calibur 4.
    • That was obvious in Soul Calibur II if the voices were switched to Japanese. It's kinda hard to take Nightmare seriously when Link's voice comes out of his mouth.
      • It's far easier to take it seriously when you realize that it's also Viral's voice.
  • Nobuyuki Hiyama even managed to make an Otaku sound Hot-Blooded with his work as Madarame Harunobu.

  • And let us not forget the disdainful snarking of Hiei, of Yu Yu Hakusho fame.

• Aya Hisakawa:
  • It's hard to miss spotting a role done by Aya Hisakawa, all thanks to the fact that she always does her Mizuno Ami voice with slight modification for character age. The only time she was confused? Kero-chan.
  • A lot of the voice actors from the Claymore anime are popular veteran seiyuus, which is fine and dandy. But picking the voice of tough but gentle Sailor Jupiter to voice the totally guano insane Ophelia is all kinds of wrong; that's not even getting into how Sailor Mercury's VA plays the Big Bad Priscilla.
  • On that note, Nyamo admitting she doesn't know math is... weird.
  • She's also played a super popular bishounen who turns into a rat.
  • "The flower that glistens in the moonlight - Cure Moonlight!"

• Bridget Hoffman
  • Bridget Hoffman voiced Jeri and Adult Nia, which works pretty well.
  • To an extent, Miaka also applies.
  • Or Raquel Casull, and Fuu Hououji, both ever so graceful...not 100% of the time, in Raquel's case.
  • Belldandy sounds a lot like Ryoko Asakura. It's hard hearing Belldandy speak without being slightly... uneased. God knows how bad it would be for an Ah! My Goddess fan to watch this scene.
    • Interestingly, she manages to make subtle distinctions between them. Belldandy's voice is a little lower, and Ryoko's is a little more clipped, as befitting the Uncanny Valley Girl.

• Heather Hogan
  • Shiki from The World Ends With You sounds exactly like Colette from Tales of Symphonia - both are played by Heather Hogan. Knowing this adds a bit of unintentional humor to an early line where she says that she must have tripped half a dozen times in the dark.

• Arthur Holden
  • Voices both Mr. Ratburn and the Bionic Bunny from Arthur and Hugh Darrow in Deus Ex Human Revolution.

• Megan Hollingshead
  • Adiane sounds like Shizune, if Shizune was a total bitch.
  • This goon pegged her as Lenneth Valkyrie.
    • Or evil Nurse Joy (Shizune and Nurse Joy. How appropriate)
  • Also, Re-l Mayer sounds like a grumpier, more serious Sheena Fujibayashi.
  • I knew there had to be a good reason why Rangiku Matsumoto sounds like Mai Valentine.

• Sterling Holloway
  • Sterling Holloway is this trope for Disney movies. The man provided a voice for Winnie the Pooh, the Cheshire Cat, and Kaa, as well as minor characters in Dumbo (the stork), Bambi (Flower), and The Aristocats (Roquefort). Consider on top of that the classic short subjects he narrated, such as Peter and The Wolf (in Make Mine Music) and The Cold-Blooded Penguin (in The Three Caballeros).
  • That said, if you think you're hearing him in anything from the 1980s on, it's almost certainly Jim Cummings (see above).
  • There are few things more disconcerting than listening to "Trust In Me" and suddenly realising the creepy snake is talking in Pooh's voice.

• Youko Honna
  • Cure Black is used to going out at 3 in the morning and doing something stupid.
    • In a live-action sense, she was rescued by a Rider.

• Yui Horie
  • Naïve Honda Tohru has been up to a lot of things. She's been the student council president, a maid in a magical world, a god, a reincarnation of Yagyu Jubei, a nun, part of an unwanted harem, a trap, part of a love dodecahedron, fighting aliens while showing off her panties and has lots of part time jobs. She also likes taiyaki, is good at rythmic gymnastics, and plays mahjong amongst many, many other things. And her favorite movie? TRIAL OF THE DRAGON!!

• Ryo Horikawa
  • Super Smash Bros.. Brawl: Captain Falcon's VA did Vegeta in the Japanese version of Dragonball Z.
    • So that means that the Falcon Punch is over Eight THOUSAAAAAAAANNND!!
  • Saint Seiya: Andromeda Shun.
  • Karasu from Yu Yu Hakusho and Makuramon from Digimon Tamers. How's that for role contrast?

• Richard Steven Horvitz
  • If you've watched enough Nickelodeon and/or Cartoon Network cartoons, Psychonauts is one long string of these. Right from the very beginning: "Hey, it's Zim!"
  • I nearly had a heart attack while absentmindedly having That's So Raven on behind surfing the net, because I heard Invader Zim/Dagget voice, and as it turned out it was him! (He was playing the boyfriend of a fashion designer).
